If you can only fire ONE person before 2026....

I actually think that like Bryce, Canales isn’t in the top 25 NFL of his profession either. -

Yeah, don't mistake my defense of Canales as true defense of Canales. More just an acknowledgement of our situation as an organization and the lack of appeal to other potential candidates. Kinda like that Bryce conversation. It's about expectations. Canales basically is that mid-round pick likely backup caliber guy... who would be replaced by an equal caliber canididate. Based on that, I think it's unlikely we'd get an improvement and the carousel would continue. -
poo, most of our WR's would be getting absolutely annihilated too.

Our record has severely outpaced where we actually are as a team, in my opinion. Outside of the 30-0 win where Penix literally played like a Pop Warner QB, we have struggled to win any of our games. We have no problem getting blown out, though. We have invested a ton in our offense and it is still bad. We will never be good until we can get on the right side of the league scoring avg.

The only thing he brings to the table are his shortcomings

Maybe, just as our beating Rams was a wake up call for them, the Saints could have been that call for our team. It all comes down to wanting it. I'm with George Allen old Redskin Couch when he said "The Future is Now!!!!!!!!!!!! Go Panthers!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure there is a scheme that "works best" for Bryce that involves more that the 8 passes chris weike through vs the falcons way back when ahhh the wildcat 95% of snaps maybe?

Chink in Jaycee Horns armor/Achilles heel

I thought he made a really good play on the ball. Just a better throw from their qb. -
Yea it was a big school my freshman and Sophmore years were in a 5aa school in Texas, but even here in central NC at my decent sized school in wake county we ran what power heavy guard pulling, iForm 13 personal and 12 personal with a pretty advanced coryell style PA attack (granted my school in texas we were state champs) and Here in east wake we lost the 4AA semi finals, so these were both "football schools" the offenses and defenses we ran back then are 20x more complex than what you see out of power conference schools now... its crazy.

It’s religious for people at this point. Not getting anywhere with it.

I don't take any issue with the 4th down call. He's always been aggressive, which is how he should be. It just didn't go our way this time. Overall we've had a good amount of success on 4th down this year so I don't blame him. A field goal from that spot was far from a sure thing.
-
Yea he’s bizzaro Cam Newton. The scheme that works best for Bryce is the one where he doesn’t have to do anything. That’s not a scheme that works in the NFL.
-
I could see us making a trade for Thibs from NYG. A 2nd plus 4th and maybe some late round swaps? NYG isn't going to want to pay him with Burns making his money and they just drafter Carter in the top 5. Thibs is due a contract after this 2026 year.
-
Said when he was drafted, there was a Cam Newton aspect to him.....you almost had to go all in on a one of one offense made just for him. We made it clear we were never going to do that and therefore the entire thing was pointless. Putting him in Frank's offense and than Canales O is just mind boggling. I was pro Bryce for a minute. But once it was clear we were just inserting him into traditional offenses and playcallers? Well, it was time to move on yesterday.
-
Completely different eras of football too Brees first three seasons were before the no contact after 5 yards rule.... when DBS could mug WRs all the way down the feild.... Bryce would struggle to average 50 yards passing a game in that era.
-
In case you all forgot who he was. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Perry_(American_football)
-
Bryce Young isn’t a fit for anyone’s offense.
-
No dilemma , we need a Refrigrator Perry type of guy. Would be fun to watch. Go Panthers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I Beliebe but maybe not much as I used to.

Yeah, I suppose there is that. Not a bright outlook, that is for certain. -

This is why I'm okay with giving Canales another year. Not because I think he's good or that he deserves it but simply because I know that if we fire him he's going to be replaced by another third tier candidate with no other NFL HC opportunities with a very low likelihood of panning out. -
sports IMO at all levels is a much more simplistic thing to figure out than so many pretend it is. It's sort like Greg Olsen was saying.....coaching at every level of the sport is basically the same lol. From his kid to the NFL. Now does the NFL have some complex schemes and play designs? Sure. But Bryce Young wasn't a fit for Frank or Canales....and close to have the board has basically wished both true from the start when it was always glaring mismatches.

This team makes me want to rent a gun and buy a bullet.
-
We just needed to beat the saints and it was going to be much easier to just beat the Bucs once and it was over. They don’t deserve to make the playoffs

I honestly am not sure the hiring pool will get better if we fire him this offseason, next offseason or the offseason after. This is a tough sell to any coach with realistic options.
