  1. Past hour
  2. Why does our 3rd year #1 draft pick need a mentor? Who is cj stroud back up? Jayed Daniel's? Drake maye?
  3. If Winston isn't a worthy mentor than Dalton sure as hell isn't either. People swear they want us to be a winning franchise but maybe we've been downbad too long if this is where we're at.
  4. I don't think the hypothetical move to RT would ever materialize. He has never played RT at the college or pro level. I believe it was Moton himself that stated its not simple to make this switch. I think realistically, if Ikey fails at LT he is likely to end up at OG. I also think that door is closed here, so more likely than not it would be with a new team.
  5. Dalton threw 2 pick sixes in one game against the Cardinals in his final season with the Saints. We are not in a position to be judging other QB's for turnovers.
  6. Winston is a TO machine. That's precisely why he isn't able to get much in the way of compensation. Million dollar talent but ten cent brain. He would certainly be entertaining to watch here but he wouldn't do much in the way of winning. Additionally, I don't think Winston is going to be capable of adding much to the QB room for a supposedly developing QB.
  7. A 4th, for Jonathan Mingo? Absurd. Never would happen. Craziness.
  8. He's not a capable back up and someone like Winston is literally half the price
  9. But if you want to cape for this man go off brother.
  10. Agree to disagree. I am completely over paying terrible football players because they are nice or this or that. At least when Jerry Richardson did it we weren't absolute gutter trash every season.
  11. Getting a better backup is going to be far, far more expensive and likely net fairly middling results. I have no idea why people bitch about Dalton, he has shown he is a capable backup. There is no backup in the NFL that is going to march in here and start winning games with a bad team in Kyle Allen fashion. This is a Panthers fan fantasy that is completely illogical.
  12. Yeah I can understand wanting a young project QB3, but Dalton being cut is probably on the bottom of the list of priorities…
  13. I think some of that is also scheme too. We rarely scheme players open in some of the recent dumpster fire offenses we have been running.
  14. Dalton is not making enough money to matter in terms of the cap. His max pay on this deal is in 2026 at a paltry $5.8 mil. There is no reason to create another problem here. We have enough of them already.
  15. No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early. As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts. Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here. He doesn’t really check any box. No young potential. Can’t step in and win. And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
  16. Today
  17. I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
  18. Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
  19. I get it man it was discussed heavily when he was resigned. It doesn't make sense
  20. Not saying I agree with it, but it’s the only explanation I have as to why they brought him back.
  21. My guess is that Bryce really likes him so the team probably thinks it’s best for his development?
  22. We dont care about getting receivers that actually get open. We show that every year in the draft. That's not a quality our front office values in receivers.
  23. Maybe its a hot take but in my opinion after we solidify QB1 we’ll likely be more savvy with the QB2 position like other teams. They’re more doing what they think is best for bryce to take the next step than trying to field the best QB2 talent wise out there.
  24. Well the one were talking about in this hypothetical did
  25. Yep, he was a thousand yard guy his rookie season with Arthur Smith who knew how to use him. I'd give up a third for him in a heartbeat - Falcons would never do it.
