This isn't bashing Horn, I just didn't realize he was trending so poorly on the tackling front the past two seasons. I do remember a couple of really bad ones this season but not that many. It might be something you would need to sit down and look at each play. Maybe going for broke on a strip or diving in desperation after getting beaten badly? It's not something I associate with Horn so it was a surprise to see him being that bad.

Yeah, we should definitely bring in a QB to stick in just for the short yard sneaks. And while we're at it, get a guy to sub in for any end of game/half hail mary throws, since Bryce can't do that either. ...and probably about 50 other plays that Bryce can't handle. So maybe just get a new QB altogether and stop wasting a roster spot on the midget.

Panthers Leaders in Missed Tackles

I would agree to an extent. -
Fitz is criminally underrated because he wasn't a freak of an athlete. He's #2 on the all-time receiving yards list by a comfortably margin and #6 for TDs. He's another guy that I wouldn't put at #2 but the argument can be made.
-
I wouldn't put him #2 either I'm just acknowledging that a legitimate argument could be made for it.
-
Only guy on that list with an argument over TO is Megatron.
-
Well he was a liability versus the Saints all season, outlier or not.
-
I have no idea what the thought on Bryce is inside the building or how much pressure Tepper is putting on the situation but fear of Tepper's Panthers doing something utterly idiotic is very well founded.
-
Number two would put him over guys like Fitzgerald, Irvin, Harrison and Megatron. Not sure I could go that high.
-
Honestly, I have this fear, as well. I don't think think there is a gap between what the coaching staff, FO and ownership thinks of Bryce and what the general public/fanbase thinks. I think there is a chasm. IMO, they are basically ready to hand this guy the keys to the franchise and for all the "if Dave Canales had..." lines of logic that people spout, I think he may be bought in the hardest of anyone outside of Tepper.

Jaycee Horn is one of the best defensive players in the NFL. Do not use his name and "liability" in the same sentence. Foolishness. -
Yeah, I think people's memories of TO the person dramatically shadow what a truly insane player he was. He was a DK Metcalf level of fitness freak with basically near Jerry Rice level competitive spirit. He was an absolute terror in a time where DB's could absolutely mug elite WR's.
-
Not at all... Heck, if anyone in our current leadership had that attitude, I'd be lobbying for them to be on the unemployment line.
-
Not just talking about the guys we've already discussed. NFL history certainly has its fair share of head cases.
-
Bryce was already better than Tua this season.
-
Which time? (that's happened to him more than once)
-
I'm not ready to say that just yet. If it goes the way I predict it to go then I will admit it is a real possibility.
-
High School???
-
TO is a top 10 WR of all time, probably top 5. Hell, you can make a compelling argument that he's #2.
-
Lol. Probably?
-
The overwhelming majority of our roster investments the last few years have been about justifying the Bryce Young trade and selection. All roads lead back to that. The Panthers have been an up and down franchise but we have not been without success before Tepper came along. And we had always been primarily a defensive team identity wise. We need to get back to what has had them competitive over the years. We need to shore up the defense. And we need to reset at defensive coordinator. Unfortunately I fear the decision making of our front office remains clouded by their desire to salvage Bryce Young and there is good reason to wonder if they will continue to overcompensate in that aspect instead of moving forward with a methodical approach to making the whole roster more competitive.

Dave Tepper talking points?
-
Owens is probably the best player in this scenario, but Lord knows there have been plenty. Antonio Brown is another that comes to mind. George had fantastic physical traits and ability but Ryan Leaf level attitude.
-
Tua was playing well before his brain got scrambled. Poor bastard
