Yeah I am not beating the drum for Lloyd. I was beating it for a quality vet, and a top rated draftee, with a higher ceiling. 1st we aren’t getting another Luke. Likely not even another Morgan. But it won’t take that to drastically improve our ILB play. It has been worse than bad. I would invest more in the draft pick.

I don't want to be a doomer/pile-on, but Lloyd and Oweh are the top of the market at both of their positions, meaning it will be an overpay for us, and they have decent red flags. Oweh is a primary pass rusher and Lloyd considered a bust at the end of 2024. It's A LOT of money to throw around for those two. Oweh could be nice for us at 27 y/o while we continue to hunt for a real lethal pass rushing threat and/or develop Scourton/Princely. Similar to how Denver had Allen while developing Cooper and Bonnito. But you overpay for him at the top of his market, I don't think we need to stretch for Lloyd. Will say, if we pull it off, Lloyd & CJ Allen could work. Oweh and Scourton with Princely as our primary SPR is nice as well. I see what they're trying to do.

But why are we singling out the QB? So none of the olinemen made bad plays giving up immediate pressure - up the middle by Corbett, Mays, Zavala, Hunt and Lewis and outside by Ickey. Didn't see them point that out. Jaycee didn't get torched by Olave in both Saints games? Didn't see them point that out. TMac dropped passes in big situations. Jimmy Horn dropped a pass in the playoffs. XL forgetting how to control his body on the field. Moehrig misplayed the pass that led to the game winning TD in the playoffs after our QB led us to a 4 point lead with less than 3 minutes to go in the game. Defensive pass rush was almost non-existent except for a few games. None of that was brought up and you don't seem to have issue with it. But every bad moment by the QB should be highlighted in a hype video? Bryce may not be the answer. Right now I don't think he is. But I feel like he can be if he is more aggressive passing downfield. Either way I'm not gonna crap on a guy that's really not in a great situation, because I expect him to correct all the wrongs and deficits of an entire team.

Yeah there's too much smoke around Lloyd with us. If it goes down, I just hope it's nothing insane that makes us need to restructure in the future. He's getting Roquan/Warner money, inflation adjusted. He's getting like $21.5 mil/yr. Get ready for that type of contract with him to beat others out. I just think some of these guys in the 9-15 mil range are of similar value (Edmunds, Chenal, Okereke, etc.). But if it happens, it happens.

I agree with you, the parallels are there. Bryce seems a little more put together in the head space than Kyler or Tua, but physically they are all undersized and physically limited QBs. Bryce isn't a slam dunk player to extend. I really hope the Panthers don't end up making a very expensive mistake.

Please take note both Kyler and Tua were in the same place where Bryce is now when they got their extensions. Both were high first round QBs that had flashed some, but hadn't put it all together before being offered that second contract. The Dolphins and Cardinals will be eating a sh!t ton of dead cap just to move on from their respective 'franchise QB.' Also note, both teams were leery of the extension, but did it anyway because each team thought the QB simply needed more time to put it all together despite their reservations. In each case it backfired spectacularly.
