[In my best Bomani Jones voice] Listen to me now, believe me later on. [/imbbvj] ... I got flamed for pointing this out a few weeks back.

Edited the title cause we keep getting threads that don't realize we already have a thread on the topic

Does Bryce deserve credit for game-winning drives?
mav1234 replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
He's got pretty close to the same number of 20+ this week as last but he approx a fourth of his passes went at least ~15 yards down field this week ... He only had 3 of 25 going that distance vs New Orleans. He was looking further downfield imo. -
Poor ownership decisions dating to around 2019 Then the trade for Bryce Young was very costly and he so underperformed (IMO) that they were compelled to pump even more assets into putting players around him. OL to RB to WR - FA money and high draft picks, you name it. But offense was king and defense was an afterthought. For most of three years. Until we picked Scourton in the second this year there was nothing over a single 3rd round pick spent on tne defense since Jaycee Horn was taken in the first round - and he is on his second contract. Defense has been a black hole. That is the Cliff Notes version, or at least it is my Cliff Notes version.

It was the Blake vs Wally show, everyone else was just skating... lol

Even though that result kind of sucked, it was a hell of an effort to preserve that point on the road against the best goaltender we have faced.

We are 19-18 in SO's under Rod.

Well the reason for the tight playbook is heavily debated. Without going into that I will just say we haven’t beat up on any top defenses so far, offensively. Atlanta looked mediocre at best. Being kind. They are our big victim. SF is supposed to be weak on defense, I think it will be interesting. -
You're probably right. But, in my head cannon, Jackie's tiny little heart would have willed that puck into the net and the crowd would've erupted into a Storm Surge in his honor, on the road. The refs wouldn't even have continued the shootout after that. They called the game in our favor for pure awesomeness. If not for stubborn ole Rod!

Freddie lost this game. It’s that easy. 50 shots on goal to 16. This may have been his worse game this year.

A question no one is asking about Bryce and The Panthers

At least you guys have a extra day to prepare. -
Rods shootout lineup logic is almost always indefensible
-
Jackson Blake, playing in his home town with 80+ friends and family in attendance, puts the team on his back to get the game to OT where he almost completes the hat trick. And, you don't call his number in the shootout?!? Imagine what that would have meant to a young kid who no one thought would ever sniff the big leagues...
-
Yeah, I'm not sure what exactly he was doing there. Boldy came way too close to him in my opinion and then freddie just randomly dives out almost seeming like he was trying to cover a loose puck...
-
Need Koochie to be the guy. Freddie is done. His save % looks like Burns numbers towards the end. Different positions but yall see. Freddie is just done.
-
Lucky to get a point. Freddie looks terrible. That shootout goal allowed was atrocious
-
After that first period fortunate to come away with a point. Wallstedt was a beast in net.
-
Jarvis is not the guy, never has been.
-
Bummer with the shootout loss. I personally thought Jarvis and svech had pretty good moves - there goalie just made some good saves. Hall, on the other hand, was pathetic on his attempt
-
There was no chance we were getting one past that guy one on one.
-
What the actual fug Rod?!? I was joking with that post thinking even Rod couldn't fug up a shootout lineup that bad.
-
Man, I hate shootouts.
-
At least we stole a point
-
Whelp. Got the point.
