  1. Past hour
  2. You obviously didn't hit the link. I am quoting Bucky Brooks, as I stated.
  3. I mean, I guess I can see why you're saying what you're saying, but it's not that smoking gun that I was looking for. I mean, what do we expect the assistant to say? I'm sure that he wanted to keep his job. The guy that didn't keep his mouth shut got fired. I will admit that it's not a good look. The thing is though, everyone makes bad calls. If Morgan was against the trade, it was a bad call in my opinion, but on the other hand he probably wanted to keep Burns and work out a deal.
  4. I got: Bills over Broncos. I think it will be close but Sean Payton notoriously chokes in the playoffs and I don’t think anyone wants to play Josh Allen. 24-21 Seahawks over 49ers. I think it’s close and Darnold is likely injured but the defense wins it. 20-17 Texans over Patriots. Patriots had one of if not the easiest schedule this year. They struggled with LAs defense which is nowhere near what Houston has. Probably low scoring. 17-13 Bears over Rams: Rams think our home field advantage is bad. They are about to play in Chicago, with single digit temperatures, high wind, and flurries. 30-21
  5. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5334576/2024/03/11/carolina-panthers-brian-burns-defense/ Morgan was second in command behind Scott Fitterer in 2022 when the Panthers rejected the Rams’ offer just days after trading All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey to the San Francisco 49ers. The lone dissenting voice was former salary cap and contracts executive Samir Suleiman, who believed the Panthers should take the picks for Burns, according to three sources familiar with the discussions. Again I ask, who got fired?
  6. You gotta give me a link or something. Plenty of stuff that's "reported" turns out to be more speculation than substantiation.
  7. Maye has to run. The Texans, though the best overall defense, were dead last against scrambling QBs.
  8. It was reported he wanted to keep Burns and turn the trade down. The one guy that wanted the trade was Samir Suleiman. Guess who was fired?
  9. If he lands a HC job he will like take Cooley as DC. (Would be 3 3rd round picks btw). I imagine we would promote Wash or hire Raheem Morris due to familiarity with the system. Evero would need a OC though. Wonder about Zac Robinson since they know each other from LA
  10. I'd say you're speculating big time. Assistants exist to support their bosses and the company line.
  11. and the injuries seem to be a team problem so I believe our strength and conditioning staff needs to be upgraded.
  12. Canalas may be a better Head coach than a coordinator...
  13. Jeopardy ‘final answer’ or just not yet, still undecided? Just curious…
  14. I think Evero may be one of those guys that is better as a HC than as a coordinator. I wouldn't be surprised if he actually got one of these jobs.
  15. I still have my doubts about Morgan because of stuff he did with fitterer and his draft class last year
  16. What if I told you Dan Morgan agreed with Fitterer about that trade?
  17. Yeah, if the Pats running game doesn't get off the ground, they will be in a LOT of trouble. As good as Maye was this season, the Chargers gave him fits and this defense is far better than that one. The one X-factor that can hurt Houston is Maye's legs.
  18. I think you're going to continue to see huge contracts to players that you need, or that ones you think will get you over the hump. That's just the nature of the beast. What I think you'll see smart GMs balking at is overpaying marginal QBs whose play doesn't justify huge contracts. The league has seen how overpaying for glorified backups can hamstring franchises for years. Star players or perceived Star players are always going to get paid handsomely by someone. Moreover, if you're referring to Lloyd, he has arguably balled all along, it's just that coaches matter and systems matter in order for most players to reach their highest potential.
  19. Bum ass fitterer should have taken the rams offer or extended burns immediately. Instead he didn't do either and we got fuged in the end.
  20. You've gotta quit crying about old girlfriends. Just move on. Plenty of fish in the sea and all that. Truly, though, Burns found something in himself and it may well have been that he found himself as the senior member of a line with some high drafts, low performance guys and he began to lead by example. I believe he's put on some pounds, too, which had been a knock on him early on. Good for him and glad to see him develop... those stories don't always work out so well. And yeah, we need some help at linebacker.
  21. A lot of players ball to get the contract or the first year of the big contract. Except for QBs, Max Crosby type players, you'll see less huge contracts in the future. One injury or they don't (or can't) live up to it.
