  1. Past hour
  2. I wandered into a Panthers sub Reddit yesterday. Holy fug that was miserable.
  3. Wait, it’s that the panthers franchise or this website? lol
  4. The only other option would realistically be reddit but that's a steep downgrade. It baffles me people still complain especially considering how loose the moderation here is overall as long as you aren't human garbage. Just be glad it's still going. If it came down to it I assume Jeremy would pass the torch to a worthy individual. It is ironic though this happened after that horrific loss to a franchise so closely tied to ours over the years. This team really needs to show up against the Packers. After 7 years of this the fanbase is nearly toast. Dave Canales needs to get his head out of his ass or be shown the door.
  5. It's a more palatable format than Twatter(an absolute sewer from day 1) or Facebook(an absolute sewer for the past 10+ years) but it's heavily groupthink. If you swim counter to the stream too often some power hungry mod on Panthers will squash you.
  6. https://www.metrowestdailynews.com/story/sports/nfl/2015/12/10/hoyer-has-respect-pats/32891436007/ forgot to drop the link
  7. Im not sure there are workable solutions. A large factor in a selection is pure luck. And as Basbear just said it really comes down to the team and coaches they are paired with. Im not sure how you factor something like that in.
  8. Team success as starting QB criteria: winning record seasons/playoff appearances/playoff wins Career completion percentage: >57, 58-60, 61-63, 64-66, <67 TD/Int ratio: >1:1, 1:1, 2:1, 3:1+
  9. Silver's QBERT?? I subscribe to his Substack but what he is doing there is fairly different than what I am trying to accomplish. I am less focused on the "pure" stats than the results since this is a "success" metric. Pure stats can favor unsuccessful players or successful players or vice versa. Also, I don't care even a little bit about UDFA'S. I can use that as a draft success metric. They weren't drafted. They are irrelevant factors.
  10. It may not be the kind of qb class everyone thought at the start of the college season, but I would hope we take a hard look at Mendoza for IU, Moore for Oregon, or Ty Simpson for Bama if any of them fall to us. I think we are headed to a good chance at one of the three. Not sure what we do with Bryce in that situation.
  11. I thought Tepper bought this place and shut it down after the board went nuclear on his pet Dumb ass Dave Canalas yesterday.
  12. I can only take Plebbit in small doses, mods and forced politics have ruined that hole.......have a different opinion than this subreddit= you're banned bud Hive mind at the finest, totally not for me.....
  13. FWIW, I am not trying to shut down all this great input, I am just asking for workable solutions to add it to the spreadsheet.
  14. I would really like to know what Morgan thinks about it today. He used to work in Buffalo and is pals with Beane. It has to be embarrassing and when people are embarrassed they normally respond to see that that doesn’t happen again.
  15. Wish I could help you more, that link should offer some of what you want indirectly. Plus I am having trouble figuring out how to help as well. Bad news, but good baselines for a "successful pick" mainly could be being picked by a "successful" team/city/coaching staff. That's odd and awful, but its a major factor and maybe the main one. I can not tell you a first rounder needs to have more than 5.1% higher comp% than a 4th. With different teams, leagues, systems, staffs, etc. Theres some wacky numbers for winning that do happen, same for losing too. Again where you go and who is there have the biggest effect. Here is another piece, it does a better job of what I am trying to say. Basically Brain Hoyer was a UDFA and his agent told him that he is going to sign with the Pats. He thought it not the right move, but it ended up being the move that allowed him to stay and start in a league he had no business doing for the time he did.
  16. I will never resort to that sewer. I am just recently on Reddit and that is bad enough.
  17. If this place closes I will have to go into rehab.
  18. I hope it hangs on longer. I really don’t want to have to only have the idiots on Twitter to argue with.
  19. Does anyone know(mods I assume) why he wouldn't consider just selling to one of us?
  20. Glad to see something posted about it at least. Been having issues since yesterday. Sad to see this type of fall for this place.
  21. But are you gauging QB success or QB DRAFT PICK success? I am not trying to make something that guages QB careers. I am trying to make something that judges QB careers SOLELY as a function of draft position.
  22. How would you structure that? What are the thresholds for "success?" What what does that structure look like? What are the thresholds? No, I am asking given draft position(round based) what are good baselines for a "successful" pick? It's not so much actually grading QB's as grading QB CAREERS based on what round they were taken in. I am not against incorporating other criteria or changing mine but I want input into what that looks like. So, say completion%, which was mentioned. Does a 1st round pick need to have a higher career completion percentage than a 2nd/3rd/etc? If so. what is the threshold for that? I am 100% trying to make a solid model but I do need defineable input that I can add.
  23. ZOD seems to have jumped ship a while ago and this place is hanging on by fingernails. No server, no Huddle. Not looking to good
