No one has said joint practice is more important. I’ve said coaches are using joint practices to get their starters reps and giving them less reps on the preseason games because of this. They are both just a tool for the staff to shape their depth chart and brush off some of the offseason rust.

Yeah but you know if you are a borderline player the margins are razor thin. Getting a boneheaded penalty like that is exactly how you get walking papers in that position.

I watched it--it was stupid, but not that violent. Sanders vs. a big TE is probably a bad business decision on multiple levels. However, he was probably going to be cut anyway.
