  1. Past hour
  2. Saints did a good job of not rushing him out this year. Having a former QB as a coach probably helps. He is an older rookie so unfortunately he has to figure it out quickly which is far he has done.
  3. And it's an easier position to play. An 18 game season combined with the current offseason training restrictions... What could possibly go wrong?
  4. Said before and it's still true...a lot of folks either don't understand or don't appreciate just how much of a unicorn Newton really was.
  5. Never was... Regardless of draft position or talent level, you still gotta have the right coaching. Good coaching can shape a lesser round or even an undrafted player into a solid starter. Poor coaching can tale a top overall pick and turn him into a massive bust. There's about a hundred other factors that go into making a great NFL quarterback of course, but if you don't start with good coaching you're already operating at a disadvantage.
  6. They think every QB should be prime Cam or Mahomes. And further that those types of players just grow on trees and are freely available to draft if we just lose enough games to get the first overall pick.
  7. Surprising? His QBR is lower than Spencer Rattler’s. He’s thrown 5 TDS and 4 INTs and is 26 years old. He’s Brandon Weeden or Chris Weinke. An old guy on a terrible team who can put up mediocre stats and convince a few morons that he might be the guy. Some of yall need to be out of the amateur football evaluation business.
  8. “Playing oddly well” He is 1-3
  9. Young's performance in that game will matter, but I'm honestly more interested in what Canales does. He got hilariously outcoached in that game so I'm anxious to see how he responds in a rematch.
  10. So basically, just admitting you've got nothing, here?
  11. Dude broke our running percentage gag
  12. For the first time in a long time, even with its inconsistencies, I feel our team can beat anyone.

  14. I think what's been useful about PFF rankings on a weekly basis is to see how certain members of the defensive backfield perform according to them. I find it hard to judge Nick Scott and some of the others the last few weeks, though he's had some plays, so these scores are helpful there. Though when Derrick Brown doesn't show up at all it's a head scratcher. I know week to week is irrelevant but he had a monster game by most accounts.
  15. Agreed the odds are stacked against us and I doubt we win it but you never know. I just know it's nice to be able to even have this conversation again.
  16. Don't think anybody here is saying he is good. I'm just glad he hasn't been a significant detriment to the team like he was the first 5-6 games
  17. 1. Try to get to a Winning season 2. Try to get to playoffs 3.try to make some noise in said playoffs 4. Hopefully make Darnold and Mayfield see ghosts on the way. I just don't think we have a pass rush decent enough to do much this year. We need to get more edge rush help this off-season. It needs to be a priority.
  18. Great advice Gettleman ‘big men allow you to compete’ ill tell ya, having a ‘little fella’ at qb, that oline needs to be men of steel for 17 plus games
  19. Today
  20. Well, I told y'all about a month ago that advanced stats were actually in his favor.
  21. I don't know man. He definitely have a great block for Corum to get into the endzone Sunday. But agree, he's been much better lately as the entire defense has.
  22. Plus it's also interesting to see how another team in our division goes about building around it's young QB. These 2 teams aren't so dissimilar from each other 3 years apart. We're also potentially, if we move on from Bryce, looking at taking another QB in the future so again, building around a young QB. Which strategies work best. What doesn't. Information is your friend.
