  1. Past hour
  2. Everyone has their own way of processing. I personally would prefer to avoid spending the entire bye week recycling the same arguments about Bryce Young. I think we've got all the angles quite well covered at this point. This is a watershed moment for the team if there ever was one. Canales Bryce and the Panthers will either bring their A-game and look like a surging playoff team trending upward against the lowly Saints or they will revert to the same old same ole and it will be another edition of disappointment which will certainly not bode well for the prospects of sweeping the Bucs. That result whichever one it will be will dictate the ongoing conversation and hopefully it is the former and we can all begin to rally around the team after so many years of nonsense. But. If it is indeed the latter then all involved will deserve any and all criticism because they control their own destiny at this moment moreso than they have in a long timr which is a pivotal crossroads for our weary fanbase. Just win
  3. First I didn't know they had a youtube channel; second I do not remember David playing for the Panthers but apparently he did; third, I didn't know Derek had a brother that also played in the NFL and finally fourth, it's a short video and there's realy nothing new here but it's great listening to them dissect plays from a QB perspective - especially if you look at some of the other videos. Anyway, it's only a little over 13 minutes and defintely worth the watch.
  4. All off-season they keep saying he lost weight like that was a good thing for a TE. He look more like a bigger slower WR this season. Guess he's playing more the split out role and the other 2 play real TE
  5. Cap is roughly 280m per season right now. After Icky's extension (26m AAV), Mayes (6m), and keeping the rest of the oline, Chuba, Tmac and XL, if we signed Bryce to his 50m extension this offseason, we'd be at roughly 160 of our 280 without anyone else on offense. Brown and Horn take up 47m by themselves. 10 players of our 53 would eat up 75% of our cap in 26. We'd be crippled.
  6. Should have put Moore in the moment Delhomme started imploding against ARZ.
  7. Go ahead and name the posters that expect Bryce to be Mahomes or Cam. It's more his most ardent fans that bring them up. The reason we "quote stats" is because people insist we want HoF level play, when we just want a consistent, competitive offense, and that relies on decent QB play. The vast majority of "haters" just hate bad QB play. There are some people that have become far too nitpicky but when we're three seasons in and he's still this inconsistent, I don't entirely blame them. Anyway I hope Bryce continues to improve.
  8. When you have a QB who cannot throw the ball unless the pocket is perfect that's what you have to do. I don't think a lot of fans grasp how fuged we would be with Bryce on a franchise QB deal. You can't put the pieces in front of and around Bryce that ge has to have to succeed if you're paying him $50M+ a year. Hell, we struggle to do it with him on a rookie contract and it's forced us to duct tale a defensive roster together.
  9. Dak can have 500 yards with 6 TDs all to Lamb and Pickens and still lose and I'll be happy. I have all 3 starting on the same team in FF tonight.
  10. From what I had read, and I could be mistaken in my understanding of reading the language, it could be done, although very rarely, with very specific language written into the contract. The passing of a physical was to determine any unknowns. The Achilles tear would be a known commodity going in, so the physical wouldn't apply to that aspect at least, from what I read. This was the very least likely of scenarios, but from what I understood, wasn't totally out of the realm of possibility.
  11. Who knows with Lane Kiffin. I honestly wouldn't want to go from college where I have full control and at a program like LSU where I have a major resources advantage and an gobble upbekife recruits to the NFL where I'm going to be reporting to a GM with roster control and a more level playing field.
  12. That's been happening to general quarterback discussion going back about thirty years
  13. reading the room is not your specialty is it?
  14. No, I mean you literally have to pass a physical. There is no sense in signing him until he is healthy. Otherwise you are literally paying a guy that is likely to never play a game that season. That happens to players under previous contract, not unsigned/free agent players. Look at the Lions and their recent attempt to bring Frank Ragnow back. He couldn't pass the physical.
  15. You don't connect the mod admonition that all Bryce discussion stay in the pinned thread as having anything to do with that? But hell, even with those rules we get new Bryce threads during games. The notion of a "Bryce brigade" seems a tad exaggerated to me. There might be three or four guys in that crop...and I'm probably being generous. So you genuinely believe the "Bryce brigade" is the reason why that doesn't happen? Eeehh, not so sure that theory holds up Hell, I started a thread that only said I expected Bryce to get his fifth year option now. It wasn't the only topic though, and even what I did say wasn't implying that he should. Who do you think is extending that discussion?
  16. We throw mud at the wall for TEs and what has that gotten us? At least we finally gave up on the Ian Thomas experiment. I've been asking for a first or second round TE since the 2018 draft.
  17. the ralph nader line is over to your right but really I cannot imagine someone not having a strong feeling about bryce 40ish games in at this point
  18. D been better than the O on the season. I mean, I know it isn’t popular to say as everyone been dreaming about Evero leaving.
  19. Would depend on whether or not they thought he would recover, contract size, if he had any other suitors, and what, if any value he could bring by recovery time. I wouldn't see it being a likely approach, but for the right price, maybe a shot. And by right price I mean cheap. If BC doesn't think he's gonna get any other offers after his recovery, maybe he'd take a 2 year, vet min deal. Some pretty terrible tackles get offers every year with guarantees and get cut. If you have the cap space to gamble, it could be a cheap cost, moderate reward. A lot of things would have to be in play to do something like that and language can be written into any deal. But hell, we drafted a RB in the 2nd round that couldn't pass a physical. Stranger things have happened.
  20. Has it really come to that? Bryce lovers vs Bryce haters? I don't love him or hate him so what am I? Is there an Independent party?
  21. I don't think he will just get Rooney Rule interviews "just because." There has to be some level of at least passing interest.
  22. Lol, too early. I've been tinkering with mocks for a month now.
  23. Rivera is more of a fanciful thought than anything else That said, I do think there's at least a half decent chance we have a different defensive coordinator next season, and there's more than one possibility as to how that might happen.
