  1. Past hour
  2. His only shot right now is on special teams. If he makes the roster it will be there. Where he goes from there is up to him.
  3. Yeah, but by basically all accounts by those that matter, he's been working hard. I'm not gonna hate on him for having fun along the way as long as that's the case. Moreover, Jaycee came in with an advantage over most: he grew up in the NFL (so to speak). Of course he came in with an elite mentality. Now I'm not suggesting that some players don't, but mentality, especially, evolves with maturity, and many of us have been watching football long enough (and lived long enough) to know that maturity, growth and evolution isn't a cookie cutter type of proposition.
  4. Everything hurts and/or is sunburned, but lil dude had a good time and that's all that matters. Also, confirmed the Gemini summary of Icky's PFF grades
  5. The NFL is really not-for-long in most cases. Hell, as I've mentioned before, even second rounders have a 49 percent chance of being on the street, according to Google AI, after four years.
  6. I would love for things to be different, but we can't help but see it. I have already been more impressed with how TMac carries himself. It seems he would rather just be a star without putting the work in. Maybe he can be, but I doubt it will be on the field.
  7. Hey, at least your opinion is honest and insightful. I would've never thought about the comparison as critically as you have hadn't you posted it.
  8. Where are all the, uh, "USC" fans at? I know its South Carolina, but I've seen their fans in here on the regular. What do y'all have to say? That's really why I started the thread: for the perspective of someone who is really familiar with the kid.
  9. I may be reading too much into this, but the comments from Canales about Horn don't really indicate good news. He compares him to Deven Thompkins, whom he said he loves, and Thompkins had a really good camp last year and was creating separation and making plays just about every day. But Thompkins was cut. And when we did bring him back, it wasn't for any real meaningful snaps. And then we cut him again. That's not a guy I would want to be compared to. Granted, we did draft Horn, and Horn isn't Thompkins, but Canales praised Horn as a guy that made other guys better, not as a guy that was playing well. And I think there is a clear difference. Just trying to see through the coach speak.
  10. Yeah, I expected some hate, notwithstanding X essentially admitting his imperfections in so many words. At this point, unless X is a stud, there may be people that talk sh¡t about him regardless of how he improves on the field. I hope that's not the case. In many minds, expectations for X (and, perhaps, a timetable for success however that looks like) were probably unrealistic in the first place.
  11. We need someone to step up at FS. That was an obvious roster hole coming into camp. If Richardson can work out, we may have a pretty good S group.
  12. TBH, I think there are a LOT of red flags with his focus on being a social media brand rather than his focus on being a football player. The antithesis of this was definitely Jaycee Horn. I remember all of his rookie vids being working out with top CB's and the reports of him being a sponge for info from the vets. That's elite mentality. XL does not have that, hence why I am generally so negative about him.
  13. So few of the guys pan out after the 3rd round. I really never put too many eggs in those baskets, minus some exceptions.
  14. I think we’re reaching here. He’s a second year WR who had some ill timed moments where he choked. That’s nothing to do with the jugs. That’s nerves and taking your head out the game. He knows how to catch a ball. He just has to adjust the NFL pressure.
  15. Today
  16. I didn’t hate the pick. I like the dude and think he’s a cool cat, but this validates everyone who has said that he lacks a dawg mentality. It also helps to explain why he would snag some really difficult catches and drop others that look pretty routine. I sincerely hope he has truly committed to becoming a professional because I know Coker enjoyed the read.
  17. I take it as he always had really good hands in college so he took it for granted and focused on routes and other things that are actual adjustments from college to pros and his catching focus suffered from it. Of the end of the world if he gets back on track.
  18. Gotcha. I will alter my statement to say I’m not one to criticize people for the way they word things. Particularly XL. I’d rather just sit back and see how he develops.
  19. I think they just find guys that are most likely to get opportunities and it is an easy pick here with how our linebacker room looks right now.
  20. I wasn't trying to criticize the grammar at all. It's the way he worded it. Sounds like a chore. I would rather him "love" his job. I want him to want it.
  21. That's what I meant with the tuck. It should be muscle memory. I hope he turns out to be the star we all hope him to be. He's a player my wife has attached to, so I am definitely rooting for him.
  22. Demani can end up being a player, the opportunity is there for him, I think he would be the best FS we have.
  23. How many rookies do you think this happens to? After you get drafted you think you have made it. It's encouraging for him to realize the folly of his ways, let's see if he can capitalize.
