A guy that could make plays using athleticism and instincts, wear the green dot, and command the respect of the other ten guys… If I find the clip I’ll post it. If you heard him say it and you have any ego at all you want to be that guy. I think Dan probably laid it on him.

I'd actually be really interested to see Bryce with a beast of a TE like Njoku. We all know how much Shockey and Olsen meant for Cam in those early years. Haven't a safety blanket and matchup nightmare like Njoku actually would evolve this offense tbh (well, that and an actual QB)

Yeah he used Otton in his one season as a play caller. He just doesn't have much to work with here. I still see Tremble and Evans getting out on routes though and obviously JT was drafted to be that guy whether he works out or not...

Yeah, there are several posters who don't think TE is a need at all because Canales doesn't use them. I mean, given our TE roster of course our TE usage in the passing game is going to be limited. We have a roster full of third stringers.

I would definitely like this but not sure about getting into a bidding war over him. Either way I look forward to TE no longer being largely an afterthought.

Should be….but Tommy’s got what they call a “cap number”. He’s a good move tight end/HBack for us and a hell of a lot more important than JT. Got to make the dollars make sense tho.

Who is gonna pay him after that rehab, unseen and unproven? What kind of deal would he be looking at if he were FA after this year? Not that much. A single year prove it? Maybe structured as a two year deal? If he wants to resume his career as Panther he can secure that chance with a little mutual back scratching. You could simply take what he is due this season and redo the deal with it as a signing bonus. He gets all his money this year just like he does on the original contract but we can spread it out over multiple years. You can work out the rest through incentives or even have it stipulated that if he can come back enough meet a mutually agreed upon threshold, then they redo the deal to those standards. It might not even have to cost us 4mil.

The Panthers played great in that game. But that game had zero to do with why Phillips or Lloyd are here. They are both here because we WAY overpaid for Phillips production and health, and we made a HUGE bet that Lloyd's 2025 campaign wasn't a fluke, but instead was a glimpse at what he might be. But then you have to ask yourself why the Jags didn't pick up his fifth year option, which would've been way less than what we just paid him to figure out if his production is sustainable year over year. I'm glad Morgan and Tillis did something, but anyone telling themselves Phillips and Lloyd are here primarily because of this team's potential is lying to themselves.

Add that to Evans, Tremble, and Sanders and the TR room becomes crowded. Gotta think JT is the odd man out in that scenario.
