  1. Past hour
  2. The blue line is a mess not collectively, but having to shuffle pieces just to get 3 D lines on the ice while playing three perennial contenders in 3 consecutive games without a break, there's not a lot of room for error. Last night, there was literally not a single defensive pairing that had ever skated together before, either in the preseason or so far this season.
  3. Yeah, I am just looking at our pass blocking stats and the Texans stats being similar, but our oline is way better than theirs IMO. I feel like there are at least 5 times a game 3+ guys come free on a pass rush for opposing teams vs. the Texans. I can't recall too many times I have seen multiple lineman get beat/blow their blocking assignment on the same play this season for us.
  4. I agree Someone like CJ who throws one of the nicest balls and throws with anticipation and everything you want just protect him. He has Nico. All other resources should’ve gone into the OL Now with that said I don’t think Young’s numbers would be very far off from Stroud’s had he gone to Houston I mean since the whole CJ giving Caleb that post game speech their numbers are pretty similar if I’m recalling correctly
  5. That’ great. Smitty was known to have one too. My man Derrick Brown looking like that without the ball in his other hand.
  6. You lost me Edit: Oh are the Panthers the glass house lol
  7. McDermott is actually 8-0 after bye weeks. Guess he’s due one
  8. He sort of already has. Chuba is a Captain which probably explains it a little. Canales benched Bryce let’s not forget. If he sees enough he will change it I think. On the bright side their run D is poor enough, apparently, that it may work okay this week doing the same thing
  9. Those are mighty big rocks being tossed around in this glass house. LOL
  10. our pass rush win rate is 27th in league. Houston is 29th pressure rate allowed both 30%. Panthers 15th Houston 19th Houston is 1st with the lowest stuffed run percentage but their run block win rate is low but they’re at least always moving forward Houston kinda took the Cincy approach. They drafted Dell. Signed Diggs last season. This year spent their 2nd and 3rd rounders on Higgins and Noel. Brought in Kirk. They signed Dalton Shultz who was at least when signed one of the better pass catching TE’s. Shultz turned us down and we immediately gave Hurst the contract we offered Shultz smh Stroud has always had weapons but the last two years the OL has struggled. Meanwhile Bryce had literally zero weapons his rookie season or OL. Second year he had a better OL but still zero weapons. Now he has TMac and the OL’s pass blocking is just as bad as Houston’s This board would be yelling to move on from Stroud by now had we drafted him and did what we did to Bryce
  11. IIRC, win rates are basically sustaining your block for 2.5 seconds. The theory behind that being that is a reasonable amount of time to not get your ass whipped and let the QB throw the ball. It's a decent general idea of how solid guys are at stoning their competiton on an average basis. It's limited in some ways.
  12. The Texans have failed Stroud miserably. Going into the draft, the biggest con on Stroud is his ability to handle pressure via pass rush. The Texans have turnstiles at all 5 sports on their oline and at no point has Houston thought it is important to draft or get a good oline in free agency. Put Stroud on the Colts (or any team with a good oline) and he would be lighting it up out there
  13. Baker mayfield was a first overall pick
  14. My friend, pretty much stayed at his level for the next 30 years. But he is own boss and happy I guess. Not a bad guy personally. That is probably Tepper.
  15. Banking your hopes on a couch FA that has a cup of tea NFL career to date as an almost 31 year old QB is certainly something. Especially when you consider that he has spent literally zero time in our offense so far. I think that White might be solid competition and possibly be better than Hendon Hooker, which is certainly a very low bar to clear. That's probably about where the level is for White. He's a potential upgrade to our PS QB.
  16. I need to look more into how pass block win rate is calculated. Like, if the other team gets a coverage sack because nobody is open and the guy I am blocking gets free to pressure/sack the QB after 5 seconds, is that considered a pass block "loss"? I honestly don't think our pass blocking has been that bad this year (outside of Nijman at LT week 1 and Zavala for 2 out of 3 games). For the most part, teams aren't getting by with a 4 man rush and are having to blitz. Looks like teamrankings says we are 10th in sacks allowed (1.7/game) - and that isn't because we have a QB getting the ball out at an elitely quick rate.
  17. Remember him from a few seasons ago, lively arm and mobile. No qb has been successful with the Jets so you can't hold that against him.
  18. Yeah well I was agaisnt Hurney coming back and then helping hire Rhule but it happened anyways. Tepper has made it so bad and it's still ongoing currently.
  19. Yeah, that "Me against the world" mentality can work....when you are right and know what you are doing. But if you don't know what you are doing and can't accept that you need to learn, that is an impossible hill to climb.
  20. I can’t argue too hard with established track records. Just hope because it has happened before. I think it takes massive and embarrassing failure. It isn’t hard to conceptualize the general truism that success in one field does not guarantee success in another. I have had to experience that in my the hard way before, dealing with a self made millionaire friend. Getting them to understand that is very difficult. I had to part ways to escape it 30 years later, he still hasn’t learned. But he isn’t my problem anymore…. Tepper cannot be excised so easily.
  21. If Rico isn’t getting most of the carries someone is focusing on the wrong things. Contracts shouldn’t matter. Egos either.
  22. Hopefully we watch film of what Atl did to beat the Bills, because they completely shut down their offense outside of 2 drives
  23. Dude... we looked like ass the 1st 3 quarters and came back against a prevent Cardinals defense that literally had their entire secondary get hurt in the game. That wasn't a we almost won kind of game - it was an Arizona almost pulled off the choke of the decade
  24. Unfortunately it is a bad time for us to get the Bills - they have a very good record after a bye week and they are getting back like 3 or 4 guys on defense. I think it gets ugly - I'll go 31 - 20 them
  25. I don't think he has a "hands off" mode. If you look at his business career it was built on eschewing the normal path and doing it his own way on his own terms. I don't envision that softening. It rarely does with advanced age.
  26. He's not gonna be the answer but for the offense Canales wants to run we want a guy with an arm. Baker was well suited for what he wants to do.
