Offers for #1 kicked into overdrive after the combine, you also had Derek Carr being considered at that time. Panthers said the trade was about controlling their destiny. They couldn't afford to wait. I think it's more likely that they went into it liking Young and the combine added others to the conversation.

We have the most experienced coaching staff in the league. His favorite player is Cam. We were destined for dude at #9 but taking your time with him is a hard sell when there's options that would play at a high level immediately. I don't see it happening but man, would he be exciting. He's the most athletic QB the league has seen and it would mean our staff's confidence is through the roof.

Have they said CJ has been better than expected in any way? Sticks out to me how they're constantly doing that with Bryce and downplaying the concerns around him.

I guess he's trying to give Mark some rest but I'd rather just rotate Kai and Nick. Playing Kai at the 5 right after extending Nick is an interesting choice.

Levis' ceiling is Stafford IMO. Both gunslingers with accuracy concerns coming into the league.

Everyone's checked out this season so I know it's going under the radar, but Mark Williams has quietly elevated Charlotte from a bottom tier to top defensive team. Took Clifford all year but it seems he finally got through to the guys. Even if we don't get the #1 we should be competitive next season.

This is why I'm not worried about Bryce. He's the most pressure aware QB I've seen in a long time, if not ever. A significant portion of his game revolves around avoiding hits. Other guys might be able to take more hits but if they're eating dirt more often than Young would it's a wash.

It would have to be really in depth because there's a ton of variables at play. Some positions are getting hit more than others. A slot recievers getting banged up more than someone on the outside, linemen may well have increased risk at the heavier they are, do you count non-contact injuries, etc

Lock him in before he eats in the 3-4 and this gets ugly. He's a long term piece and we have spending change. If you think he has leverage now wait until he has a career season in a contract year and his elite status is no longer debateable.

His arm is legitimately nuts but the control is just not there, especially after seeing CJ and Bryce make it look effortless.

I’ve always felt like defenses are more careful hitting certain QBs actually and put some extra mustard on the hits when it’s a big dude like Cam or Roethlisberger.

Refs are going to throw a flag anytime someone breathes on him the wrong way, especially if he continues to be exciting to watch.

Whoever gets AR should absolutely try to sign Cam. I wonder if he would be more open to mentoring a guy who looks up to him.
