I don't want Hartman. I don't want Stroud. I don't want Levis. If I'm being honest I think we lucked out with Corral in the 3rd and the fact that he doesn't have to play behind this God forsaken offensive line. He can learn to be a pro in year 1. Corral has the chance to be really good if it clicks mentally for him. He's got all of the tools you want in a franchise QB, if we can get a coach to develop him. This is why I want to go defense at number one. If you have a shot at a Micah Parsons, you need to take it and pair it with Brian Burns. Build the defense from the inside out. Brown, Burns, Horn, Anderson, Luvu, Chinn. That's a great core of defensive players to take pressure off of the offense. My preference is that we roll with Corral. I don't see a single guy in the 2023 draft I'd rather develop over Corral. But the Panthers gonna Panther and spend yet another pick on a QB after we've spent what, six picks on QB's in the past three years? It's enough. If you have number one, you've got to go BPA and that's not any QB in this draft.

I'd rather have Hartman than CJ Stroud. Give me anyone other than Stroud. People want to talk about system QB's and then ignore the history of Ohio State QB's in the NFL.
-
Here is the question, did the Lions take Aiden Hutchinson or reach for Kenny Pickett? They took Hutchinson. Why. Because if you took Pickett or Willis you were reaching and over paying massively. That's what we are looking at for 2023. Any QB taken at number 1 you are massively over spending for. That's a position for a generational, sure fire talent. Anderson is that. Now you pair Burns with Anderson for three years, let Corral develop his mind to match his physical tools, and you may have a championship window if you play the markets right and draft well.

The team with better QB play? It's the scheme. Dillon Gabriel put up better numbers in the same offense as Hooker has. So should we take Dillon Gabriel? Seriously, that's not an indictment on Will Anderson. It's a schematic issue and the Alabama defense which will have several 1st round draft picks was beat. So using your logic, Tennessee beat Alabama by 3 points therefor we shouldn't draft any Alabama defender? Fine, I'll bite, we should draft Henry T'o'to (spelling) because he started at Tennessee. I'll bite further, let's draft Hendon Hooker to run the AIR RAID IN THE NFL! Seriously, people can't say Grayson McCall is a system QB and then in the same breath say that Hooker isn't. Furthermore they can't say Hooker is such a great QB because Will Anderson, the Heisman contending defensive player, is bad because of how the Tennessee game worked out. He was double teamed all night long and Tennessee was getting the ball out quick all night long. People here said Micah Parsons was lazy, took plays off, was too small, didn't have the motor, and would ultimately flame out in the NFL. Parsons and Anderson are essentially carbon copies of each other. Y'all were wrong about Parsons, you're wrong about Anderson. I'm not an Alabama fan, I'm an App State fan. If I was saying this due to Fandom I'd say we need to draft Nick Hampton in the 4th round (still may not be a bad idea), but I'm not.

In which case I'd also rather take Sam Hartman over Stroud and Levis.
-
And Sun Belt teams are beating SEC teams so what's your point? App beat Texas A&M, ODU beat Virginia Tech, South Alabama was a stupid coaching decision from beating UCLA, JMU will probably beat Louisville. Coastal will almost certainly beat UVA. Look, I'm not pretending the Sun Belt is the SEC. But the Sun Belt is the 6th highest rated conference right now and the Sun Belt East is almost even with the PAC 12 North (what was) and one of the ACC divisions. They aren't rhe SBC of old. Further, I'm not advocating taking him the 1st round. I'm saying you take the generational guy in Anderson (production, motor, skill) and you pass on an overpriced QB in Stroud, Levi's, et. al.

Derrick Thomas was 6'3 255 lbs. Will Anderson is 6'4 245 lbs. How is he small again?
-
He had more than 20 sacks and almost 40 TFL last year, right? Something insane like that? Y'all said the same poo about Micah Parsons as well.
-
Furthermore, if this was a triple option, wouldn't McCall have a few thousand more rushing Yards and few thousand less passing, and probably 50 less touchdown passes? Regardless of whether you take McCall, you still take Anderson over anyone else. You'll never get a shot at a guy like him except in the Top 5 and every 5 years. That's compared to Stroud or Levi's who would be 2nd round picks in a normal QB draft class. Those guys are nothing compared to what you should be able to nab at 1 for a QB.
-
He's 6'3 210 lbs. He's the same size as Zac Wilson. Could easily put on another 15 lbs but I doubt they've done that at Coastal because he hasn't needed it.
-
Have you watched Coastal? They run an RPO, sure. But he's also thrown 70 touchdowns to 6 interceptions in his career. He broke Tua's record for passer efficiency rating by 20 points when the record was only being broken incrementally. Throwing for 7,000 yards and 75 touchdowns in a little more than 2 seasons isn't "triple option".
-
Just Fields says hello with his Ohio State pedigree. You'd rather have that, or Dwayne Haskins, than Will Anderson? Anderson is the closest thing to Micah Parsons out there. You don't pass on that for Will fuging Levi's or CJ Stroud. Especially if we hold on to Burns.
-
You go with the Derrick Thomas aka DT reincarnate over any QB in this draft. If it was Amderson versus a Trevor Lawrence, you take Lawrence, but it's not. Roll with Corral, take Grayson McCall in the 2nd, keep a veteran clipboard holder and you're set at QB. If it's a rebuild you go with the generational player as a corner stone. Not a JAG like Stroud or Levis.

Will Levis? No. GRAYSON....MCCALL! I swear to God if we waste the 1st pick of the draft on one of these bums instead of taking Will Anderson I'm going to lose my mind. Will Anderson is a generational talent. You take the generational talent who is very reminiscent of Derrick Thomas in his production and explosiveness. So take him, roll with Corral, giving him all off-season as the number 1 guy. Draft Grayson McCall in the 2nd round and keep a veteran. Let McCall stew to see if he can develop with the speed of the game. He's got everything you want from mobility, accuracy, Arm strength, zip, precision, field vision, etc.

My best guess here is that Bucs at -13 is as free of any money as you'll ever find. My biggest issue is I've learned that there is no such thing as free money. The Panthers defense is good, but Brady may get 13 drives so that will inevitably lead to 5 or more scores while the Panthers only hope to score is on defense. There is your free Vegas advice of the day. Or if you needed help being talked into taking the Bucs.

Overpaid? He was oft injured for the exact reason listed. He was over used and mis-used.
-
I don't want Stroud. I want Grayson McCall. Put McCall on Ohio State and you'd probably get the same statistical output. The difference is McCall won't be a Top 5 pick so we can nab Will Anderson and likely trade back up into the 1st if we had to for McCall later. If not, take him in the 2nd.
-
CJ Stroud, the Ohio State QB? They tend to flame out in the NFL. Give me Grayson McCall. Take Will Anderson and the top OT in the 1st.
-
We won a game, I'm fine with that. Ride with Jacob Eason. Maybe he will find something in himself by the end of the year and we can have an actual Derek Anderson style back-up going into 2023.
-
Lance is better than what we have and then we have another piece to trade for more picks. So yeah, whether he played a down or not, CMC was worth that.
-
The Bills were garbage for nearly 20 years. What are you talking about? Is playoffs our hope now? PLAYOFFS?
-
He lost half a step? Adding Lance adds to our cap? We aren't resigning him, he's on a rookie contract. Bro, chill. You have no clue what you're talking about. Go back to playing madden and listening to Paul Finebaum. The grown ups are talking here.
-
I want Grayson McCall. Point. Blank. Period. The only QB I wanted from this past draft was Bailey Zappe. The only QB I want in this draft is Grayson McCall. People here are going to slobber over CJ Stroud and some other P5 bums, but McCall is where it's at. Broke Tua's record for passer efficiency. Has like 70 TD passes to 5 interceptions in a little more than two full seasons. He out played Zac Wilson in 2020 in his freshman year. Give me McCall.
