Panthers taking offers for Cmac in the off-season
pantherj replied to Leotiger's topic in Carolina Panthers
You may get your wish as we may not be able to find a trade partner. Teams typically try to low ball Fitt, and ask the world of him for their guys, see the Darnold trade. YEEEOOOW that one hurt. The Jets had ZERO offers and would have released Sam had they not ripped us off for a 2nd and 4th. Fitt got angry during the last draft because a flood of teams called trying to rip him off. The word is out that he's vulnerable to bad deals. -
Panthers taking offers for Cmac in the off-season

There are a few teams that are one piece away from a possible SB run, so we might be able to unload him when trading resumes in March. The problem is that his contract is insane, and his body is fragile by NFL RB standards. We're not a CMC away from a playoff birth, so unloading vets, even CMC, is a good idea at this point. We need to become even younger because we're in a hopeless rebuilding phase, or more accurately, the QB limbo I have been warning about since we signed Teddy. -
I see all teams that don't have a franchise QB as rebuilding because they aren't going anywhere without one. We are nowhere near ready to compete to make the playoffs, so we're rebuilding. And next season is a rebuilding season as well unless we land Watson. The thing is that Watson rejected the idea of coming here and invoked his no trade clause, so we're rebuilding next season. Trading our vets for picks is fine by me so long as we get halfway decent deals. We don't need vets until we land a franchise QB, and this draft doesn't have that type of guy. The Panthers won't take a QB in this draft, and the reason I know that is because we passed on Fields, and Fields would be the first QB off the board in this upcoming draft. Gilmore and Jackson do not need to be resigned. Try to trade Burns and offer a friendly deal. Get rid of Miller completely. Draft the best o-lineman on the board if you can't trade down, and with the 6th pick we should land a long term starter at LT or C/OG. Use the later rounds for depth. Play 2022 with Sam and go into 2023 with a top 10 pick shopping for a QB.

Trade out of 6 or trade away a player instead?
pantherj replied to Reebis21's topic in Carolina Panthers
To trade back you usually need a top heavy type of draft. This draft doesn't have the type of players you want to trade into the top 10 to draft. That means we are likely stuck at the 6th pick. We need to prepare for next season as though CMC is not on the roster. We need a better RB than Hubbard, and that can be found in free agency. -

I want the Panthers to start losing the instant we are eliminated from the playoffs. The Washington win was our most idiotic ever. Rhule was asked before the game if they should tank and he said he wanted to teach the players how to win in December, and that was more important than draft position. Welp YOU DIDN'T TEACH THEM POOP RHULE! -
Of all the things Deonte might have said that is the LAST thing I expected. What in the holy hell in this coaching staff DOING???????

I know you guys love the idea of trading down, but this draft doesn't have the elite talent at the top. That means teams will call us with offers that don't match our points. They will make offers where we lose points for their gain. How do I know? They did the same thing in the 2020 draft to the point where Fitt told his underlings to stop answering calls unless they were equal points. Then the calls stopped and we were stuck. Same thing will happen this time around because the superstars are not there. We're picking at 6 and the guy is not going to be some mega stud. Sorry. We blew it last season beating Washington. Thanks Rhule. Now we have to watch Sam next season, or scramble for another scrub. -
This makes up for the Darnold signing.

Sam's footwork...
-
Chandler was the worst starting OT the Panthers have ever had. Bell was pretty bad but had some good streaks of play.
-
Imagine if Deonte returns a punt.
-
Blocking on punts and FGs if we attempt any. Fock this.
-
Meyer thinks Miller is a good idea, so Meyer needs to go. He'll be fired next.
-
I've never seen anyone bull rush Deonte. Never. Now maybe he could beat on a stunt if the guy swims past, but you can't push him back into the QB.
-
Jay-Z took seven years to make it, so maybe Miller just needs more time while he mentally wrecks our resident paranormal expert Sam Darnold.
-
How many sacks has Miller given up 100? There is no way Deonte Brown is as bad as Miller, and if he is then cut him. What has Deonte played one snap all season? Could play more?

The Bucs won't rest starters, will play to win
pantherj replied to LinvilleGorge's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yes! Beat the sh!t out of our losers we need to move up to find their replacements in the draft. -
It sucks that the Bucs beat the Jets.

I hate Miller more than Sam, and that's saying something,

Old Beliefs and draft strategies I use to have.

The winning blueprint starts with the offense. You find a QB who can make all the passes needed at the pro level. Then you build a brick wall in front of him, and start adding weapons. Then you start adding pieces on defense to stop the run. Then the pass protection is last. The defense will be cheap and scrappy. The money is spent on offense more so than defense. What we did is the reverse. We built up the run defense, pass protection, ignored the o-line, and brought QBs who can't make all the throws in the route tree. When you do the opposite of what is needed to win you end up with 5 wins and no hope. We need a QB and a LT for starters. Then we need a center and two guards. That would give us a functioning offense. LBs and RBs need to be selected in later rounds and not given second contracts. The brutality at the RB and LB position hasn't changed and they don't hold up generally speaking. You want young cheap RBs and LBs slamming into players and get rid of them before they start falling apart. This is the Luke and CMC lesson. They're not worth it. It doesn't win us Super Bowls. I don't care if you love watching LBs play well. It's over. No more lunch pale bs. We need a winning team. This draft should be about the LT or QB. That should have been the priority the instant Rhule arrived, but he doesn't know what he's doing. We have a backwards team. -
Sam Darnold can’t throw the ball past the line of scrimmage.
pantherj replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
The problem with Sam is that he can't make good throws deep, and he generally screws up any difficult pass. So we face defenses that sit on shorter routes and they start getting pass defections. At that point we don't have an answer unless we can ram the run down their throat. Things are over as soon as we're down by too much and have to throw deeper passes, and then come the INTs from that useless dope Sam. He's been a loser his entire career, and now we owe him 18 million dollars. -
Miller is f@#$ terrible. TERRIBLE.

Things can always become worse. We could bring in a worse QB than Sam Darnold. The only way things can get better is to bring in a good QB. Your QB decides what's going to happen with your team generally speaking. Rhule is out of his mind when it comes to evaluating QBs, and he has yes men around him who instantly agree with his views. That doesn't bode well for us unless we're getting a guy like Watson who is already proven to be a good QB. However this fan base will go into a full on revolt if Watson comes here. The Mr. Moms here are NOT going to have their daughters and sons go watch a woman abusing animal play QB in our stadium.
