  1. I am a major proponent of building the o-line if the big 4 are gone. I want a trade down if Sewell and the other big 4 are off the table. If we're looking at Chase with the 8th pick, then I think a team slightly lower than us in need of a #1 wr will make an offer. I hope we take the offer and rebuild the o-line. Having said all that, if we don't have an offer we need to take one of the top WRs because that is where the value will be. Having another lethal WR is not some sort of head scratching problem for our OC. Let's not be silly.
  2. If we want a true LT with proper value at 8th then we need to hope Sewell falls, and that is certainly not a pipe draft. It could happen, and if it does then I predict the Panthers will Sewell assuming the big 4 QBs are gone.
  3. If you mean trade down for Slater lower in round one, then yes I agree. Slater at 8, never in a million years. Short arms = RT or OG. Chase has way more value than Slater and it's not even close. having DJ and Chase at #1 and #2 would make our offense lethal. I'm all for drafting a LT, but we need proper value for the pick. Slater is a teens value pick.
  4. Chase has the potential to become a Pro-Bowl WR. That's what you want when drafting at the 8th pick. Having two #1 quality WRs on the roster worked out well for the SB champion Bucs. We'd be a matchup nightmare for any defense we faced. Also if DJ is injured at some point our offense doesn't become worthless, and we can be special with Chase and DJ on the field at the same time. As for the o-line, even with Okung missing most of the season with injury TB often had plenty of time to throw, or faced interior pressure (hence Pat Elflein.) What we can do is move Moton to LT, and draft one of the many good quality RTs who will be available at the top of the second round.
  5. My prediction with 4 QBs gone, and Sewell, Waddle, Smith gone, is that the Panthers select: WR - Ja'Marr Chase.
  6. Slater's short arms will keep him out of the top ten picks imo. Slater might have to move to guard. The top 8 picks will be offensive players, TD passers and TD scorers with the exception being the best OT, Penei Sewell, going somewhere in the top 10. The draft has plenty of excellent CB available, so we could easily draft one in the second or third round. No chance are we drafting a CB at eight, there isn't one worth it compared to the WRs we'll have falling to us if 4 QBs go ahead of us. If Sewell is gone, and 4 QBs went, then we'll either trade down or take a WR. I'm in favor of trading down if the 4 QBs are gone because that means next season is another lost season. Flush it. Get as many higher picks as possible and plan to draft a QB in next years draft. No need to draft Mac Jones, the idea of him ever winning a SB is a joke. Trey Lance, aka Cannon Arm, is our best chance but if the big 4 are gone then it's a wrap. The big 4 QBs going will certainly push a #1 quality WR right into our lap. If you stay put, then clearly you take the WR and go into next season with a top 3 WR corps. A top quality CB will be available at our second round pick. The top priority is scoring TDs, and a top WR trumps a top CB any day of the week. Expect a WR at #8, or a trade down if the QBs are gone.
  7. We're not going to let the media know our draft plans. No one outside the Panthers organization knows our draft plans.
  8. If you look at Lance and watch him move and throw you can clearly see that he is a superior athlete. He has a rare combination of arm strength, speed, and power. The problem is that it's impossible to properly evaluate him given the plays he ran, the level of competition, and the few number of passes he attempted. You have to take a bit of a leap of faith with Lance, but the athletic gifts are clearly there.
  9. Oh make no mistake I am not trying to imply that my interfering would produce better results than the football experts. I'm just saying that I would interfere.
  10. If I were a former hedge fund manager who crushed I don't know how many businesses, then you can bet if buy a football team I'm going to interfere and dictate what I want. If I owned the Panthers then you can rest assured we would have started Grier last season and Teddy would not be on the roster. If I spent billions on buying the Panthers then I'm going to interfere. Hell that's the best part of owning the team.
  11. I lost count. Good omen though.
  12. Start with QB. Then is there an offensive TD scoring freak available? Yes. Second tier is Ja'Marr Chase. Third would be a freak DE. None. 4th - Great LT prospect. Penei Sewell. So when you watch the draft the 4 QBs will be gone before we pick, and so will Chase and Sewell. If that's the case then we're in a bad spot with the 8th pick. The best WR is off the board. There is no freakish DE. The best OT is off the board. Taking a CB at 8 is a dumb move unless he plays like Dion Sanders. So we need to look at Kyle Pitts, Jaylen Waddle, and DeVonta Smith. Take the best prospect of the 3, or trade down. Smart teams don't mind having 2 number one WRs, just look at the SB champion Bucs.
