Yes our draft history in the second round hasn't been stellar but this is a whole new regime and comparing their choices to the past is unfair. YGM and Chinn seem to be good picks for Rhule in his first year. Let's see how Fitterer does over the next couple of years before we evaluate his 2nd round picks.

Panthers pre draft press conference
DaveThePanther2008 replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Of Course, we have to believe in their plan. Whatever it may be. If 5 QBs go before us than the real meltdown comes if we trade down because that leaves one of these players available. Pitts, Sewell and Chase I think if those three are gone we'll trade down and let someone draft the last QB. -

I trust Fitterer and Rhule but so many think that they know more than those who spend every minute of their day thinking and working for a better team. I predict at least 20 post saying WTF after our first pick. -

I see no possible way that this forum doesn't implode over our pick. So many people want different players and when we trade down (which I think we will) the server will melt down. -
Former Jets scout Daniel Kelly on Trey Lance

Urban Meyer was an excellent college coach. We'll see how well he develops Lawrence. -

That was pretty harsh. I have a feeling Lance is somewhere in between. He makes a couple good points about the talent he played against. He kind of ruined his credibility saying Lawrence will be a bust. While it is possible, most doubt that is going to happen. -
The first two picks should be for our O-line. If he was there in the 3rd I'd would take a shot.

We've signed plenty new talent that I think we need to cut all ties and let him go. It's not even worth the effort to try and trade him.

1st Round Draft Pick for the Panthers

Only if Pitts is available otherwise I'd trade down and get a top 5 OT plus extra picks. -
Adam Schefter - Panthers in talks to trade back

I am sure that there are several teams that have inquired about the pick. The question is. Do you make the move before the draft and get a 1st next year and let that team worry whether one of those QBs fall to 8 or will they wait until draft day. -
It's hard to pass on a Sewell or even Slater but this draft is loaded with the positions we most desperately need. Trading down and having the ability to get a few more talented players would help the long term success. But if you trade down. YOU HAVE TO NAIL THIS DRAFT. We cannot afford to have a Greg Little Bust on any pick in the first 4 rounds.

I like most of his stuff too. Not only will we pick Moore's option but he should be considered a Core Player that we should retained for most of his career.

What we can hope for is that all the QBs are taken 1-4 and someone other than Denver trades up for the #5 QB. Than I think we can trade Teddy to Denver and get whatever we can from them. A 4th or better would be a win. Otherwise, I expect a post June 1 cut.

The two I am interested in are the last two on this list. OT Spencer Brown Northern Iowa. OG David Moore Grambling State These would be nice day 3 picks if they were available. 2021 NFL Draft: Top offensive sleepers (usatoday.com)

At 39 Toney is no way the BPA. Not a bad WR but you're implying he's top 50. We have too many holes that need to be filled than WR and the BPA should fill one of those holes.

I saw a take where Mond and Mills draft stock had improved. Mills is intriguing. He would be the perfect backup/insurance policy for Darnold. Seems to have the tools and Brady could take his time with him. Take him with the 2nd pick. Though I prefer Creed Humphrey in the 2nd. Mills would not make my upset.
