  1. Nothing new, Run the ball and stop the run has always been the key in the NFL. So many on here don't want a game manager. They want Dan Marino or Dan Fouts to be throwing the ball. (neither of them won a SB)
  2. But neither is 100 per game. Sunday's game was very windy. Both Young and Love felt it. I'm no NFL QB but I can throw a football quite well. Throwing in a strong wind is very difficult. The shorter the throws the better chance you have of maintaining the zip on the ball. The longer the ball is in the air the velocity decrease quite quickly. Young's throw that was intercepted was the exact route XL scored on in Miami, but it was easily picked off due to the strong wind. Love should have had two picks against him and both of them died in the wind. So, while throw bombs is cool you have to take the conditions into account.
  3. Your Opinion. Bryce is a better decsion maker and a more accurate passer. Your obsession over a QB that can throw it deep is insane. Throwing the deep ball is not the only requirement of a QB. Whether you want to admit it. Bryce as won his last 4 games as a starter.
  4. Awesome idea. Let's make Cincinnati an offer. I'm 100% sure they are ready to give up on Burrow. That is if you can keep him on the field. He's been available how many games over that past 3 seasons? Getting Burrow is about as realistic as finding the allusive Rainbow Unicorn. Do you realize that Young was responsible for 19 of the 40 yards on that final drive? Rico had 21 yards. Both of those completions were for first downs. That's what game winning drives require. It doesn't require the QB to throw the ball each and every down. You do know this? It's clear that you won't give credit where credit is due. While Bryce isn't your typical "Franchise QB" he's running the gameplan our coaching staff designs. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Bryce sucks because you say so.
  5. Are you kidding? Geno Smith isn't the answer. i would say there might be one or two backups in the league that could possibly step-in and be better than Young. I've mentioned Sam Howell but that's about it. You want Canales to QB whisper a Trey Lance or someone else. Maybe but that QB is NOT going to come in and replace BY right away.
  6. This doesn't seem like a bad source. DM has said he's going to be in on every deal, whether he actually pulls the trigger is the only question. In the draft he had an offer from the Rams for T-Mac but they did not want to give Dan what he wanted. The price was definitely in our favor. I don't see why some many people are getting their panties in wad over the possibility that we trade for a position of need. Pick up a player that is under contract for next season. If you give up a 4th or 5th round pick for a starter, that's not giving up draft capital that's building a solid team. That's addressing a position we don't have to necessarily address in the draft or free agency. What I find funny is the Bryce haters would rather pick up a QB to replace a QB that has won his last 4 games. Yeah, I know he doesn't throw deep very often. That's not our identity. We want to control the ball and keep those high-powered offenses off the field. They can't score if they don't have the ball. If we don't shoot ourselves in the foot with penalties, we actually do a pretty good job of controlling the ball. Bottom line If there is a player of need and he's on the market. IMO it's Dan's job to kick the tires on EVERY position we need.
  7. Do you think that Canales is working with Hooker. The man has some great tools? I realize he's just a practice squad guy but maybe he's learning.
  8. Richardson? The man is another permanent IR list player. Can't play QB if he can't stay on the field.
  9. It was his only season he started and the Commanders wanted Jayden Daniels. He threw for nearly 4000 yds. He has the tools just need some QB whispering. Plus he can make all the throws. If we are looking for a QB that isn't going to break the bank, Howell IMO is it.
  10. He's not a bad player but I swear the guy has broken bone syndrome. He cannot stay healthy.
  11. Rozeboom would have been even higher had he not whiffed on that screen play I thought he ws going to blow up.
  12. Not too shabby considering we just picked him up off SF practice squad.
  13. Cousins is too old, Wllson is done, Pickett isn't any better than Young, Geno might work well with Canales again but he's not going to get us any further in the playoffs. The only one I would consider is Howell because he's young and had a decent season with the Commanders. Of course he'd have to clean up his interception rate but otherwise I'd like to see what Canales does with him.
  14. Like I said earlier, I haven't seen an extension for Howell and I believe he'll be a free agent. If he is a free agent he'd probably be very interested in competing for a starting position instead of a back-up plus he's a Carolina man. He's from Waynesville.
  15. He's a question I would like an opinion on. Do you think Canales is sold on Bryce? That's really the question everyone should be answering.
  16. Did they sign him to an extension. I believe he is on his last year of his rookie contract. I couldn't seem to find any extension but then again that's not my bag (following Contracts)
  17. I think you are correct. Hubbard seems like he's not the same guy as 2024.
  18. I would like to see what Canales would do with Howell if we could somehow get him from Philly. He's young and on the last year of his rookie contract. Considering everything he did pretty well with Washington in his one full season at QB. He has all the tools and he has some experience.
  19. That's the point of this post. What's the plan? Probably a mid round pick on a QB that was in a crappy program but has the tools but that player is, at minimum, one full season as the backup.
  20. So you are willing to draft one of these guys in Round 1 or 2? I haven't seen Moore but I really like Simpson and would love to take a flyer on him. The issue is. You're giving up a chance to take a quality defender that we desperately need.
  21. Very childish @Captroop You don't agree with my post and comments that's cool Pooing is really childish. Why don't you contribute some realistic takes and grow TF up.
  22. How many mid to late rounders (especially lately) are going to really develop into a franchise QB. Most likely the best you are going to get is a game manager.
  23. OK, how are you going to fix it? Outside of complaining that you don't like Young. How are you fixing your dislike for Young as our QB?
