The formations were the same running scheme he has run with Dowdle since he became starter and it doesn’t work now that other teams have tape on it. Dowdle is going to be neutralized and they have to have someone else step up and make plays. McMillian is the only other player who can consistently make a play other than Dowdle and he’s a rookie. Bryce just isn’t it, the entire team probably knows it at this point, I think Bryce feels it, and it drags the whole team down into the abyss. They are probably not bouncing back from this loss with how difficult the schedule gets after the Falcons game. It’s brutal. Every team is going to sell out to stop the run, and the Panthers won’t have an answer for it. The season is over.

I think the Panthers have benefitted from teams not having an answer for Dowdle who had a great stretch of games and now tape is out there on the formations they use for him. Canales didn’t show a single new look or formation and the Saints were ready. They need a QB who can keep the defense honest and challenges the defense downfield which Bryce will never be able to do. It’s like watching half of an offense trying to win games.

This loss won’t go up with 2 playoff games and one loss than directly kept them out of the playoffs, but it probably completely ruined the rest of the season. The schedule is too difficult for them to bounce back from this and exposed how bad the team truly is. Their mentality is paper thin, they have no resolve to win if things don’t immediately work on offense, they can’t adjust, nothing works except Rico Dowdle and now he’s showing some fatigue and when the defense focuses on stopping him they have no answers. Season over.

Maybe joking around with Keegan Michael Key and acting like you’ve arrived when you haven’t is a bad idea for the team. Maybe just me I dunno

He had a bad game but this loss was not on the defense. They played well enough to win.

On the flip side this win might take the Saints out of the running for the first overall pick

Let’s say we all get our wish and Bryce is not retained after the final year of his rookie contract next season. Maybe he’s even traded this offseason if the team manages to upgrade the position, but unlikely. How does the rest of his career go? Where does he go? Does he have any success? My prediction is he goes to the Rams in 2027. Matt Stafford is close to retirement and Bryce is from California and works out there in the offseason. I think we initially see Bryce have some limited success in McVay’s offense and ultimately he falls apart after defenses see the same physical limitations that made him a terrible QB on the Panthers. After that he bounces around many teams as a backup until he unceremoniously retires in his mid 30s. Unlike Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield who had physical talent but needed a better coaching staff and supporting cast, Bryce Young is just not physically capable of being an NFL QB. Much like an old veteran QB who mentally knows what to do and just can’t physically do it anymore, Bryce just flat out can’t physically do it. It’s sad to watch and I think while he gets another chance as a starter in the NFL as a starter, it won’t be pretty.

Because he realizes he’s about to be done in the NFL if he doesn’t clean up this garbage

Bryce can absolutely be blamed for a poor game plan if the reason is he is too short to see over the line and can’t throw down the field.
-
I can’t say coaching was the reason they lost. They are a caged animal because Bryce is so limiting. You say you don’t want to rehash it but the offense starts and ends with the QB position. And it’s obvious the coaching staff is trying their best to make salad out of midget sh*t.

Would you trade Derrick Brown to get a top QB prospect?

I mean the defense seems good enough to win now if they had a QB who would even remotely challenge a defense downfield -

Well at least Canales DID start Rico eventually. I don’t think Canales is the root of the problem but if we see this type of football with a QB he chooses, he needs to go -

It took beating Canales over the head to even give Rico the starting spot. They’ll never bench Bryce and they’ll pick up his 5th year option with his abysmal record -

The rest of the team gives up when Bryce plays like a loser -
Bump this thread in the offseason, or whenever you want. Bryce Young is never ever going to be a capable NFL QB. The Panthers win in spite of his limited physical ability and for every good 4th down play he makes he makes 10 awful plays. It’s not going to change. Stop it. He needs to go.

I mean, kinda, the Panthers have had a lot of chances and can’t make a single play to win the game. Bryce was dared to win the game and he has shown time and time again he can’t do it.
