  1. Essentially a 2 year deal with a nice cap number this season. Didn’t know much about this dude but apparently he’s good against the run. Panthers defense has been horrible against the run since 2018 after Star left and Short got old
  2. Best signing of the off-season. No secret why the run game improved when he got the starting position. Good player and dude who wants to raise his family in Charlotte. No brainer.
  3. Guess there are two threads on this. I bet he starts Week 1. He's better than Lance. Purdy probably won't play until 2024.
  4. He might actually be their starting QB next year....at least until Purdy is healthy. He's better than Lance at the moment.
  5. Love the signing at first glance, he's a solid player. But I worry about a player like him that has rarely missed any time due to injury until last season. He plays a very physical and I wonder if age is going to catch up to him soon.
  6. Go watch the replay of that game. Texas had him shut down most of the game. Refs made a lot of questionable calls too. His scrambles were slow and in the NFL he’s get eaten alive for how he played in that game. Texas would have destroyed Alabama if Ewers didn’t get hurt. Wasn’t impressed with him at all.
  7. Bryce Young’s performance against Texas concerned me. Texas doesn’t even have that good of a defense and they showed how Young responded to pressure in his face. He was skying balls over receivers heads and his scrambles to the edge were slow. Some pundits claimed this was because of the scheme that can be fixed at the pro level. But he’s not much of a runner so if he can’t deliver accurate passes under pressure it’s not a problem that will get better in the pros. Someone like Kyler Murray gets away with his diminutive size because of his speed and rushing ability. But Young doesn’t have that level of athleticism. And his arm vs CJ Stroud are pretty much even in my opinion. I’d rather take Stroud all things considered.
  8. The only good receivers Chicago ever has are good receivers they acquire from other teams
  9. Fitterer loves trading so I think you’re right. Shaq is probably being shopped
  10. They didn’t get fleeced. But trading Moore when you’re about to draft a rookie QB is not a good idea. Rookie QBs need good receivers and it’s gonna be tough to replace his production.
  11. Just dropped in to say getting rid of DJ Moore when they’re about to draft a rookie QB was one of the dumbest things this team has done in awhile. Can’t find receivers as good as him in free agency without a higher price tag. Alright see y’all later
  12. Darnold would be an excellent backup/bridge QB and I’m in favor of re-signing him on a salary reflecting as such. He’s not starting caliber because of the high amount of mistakes he makes, but he’s shown he can come in and play well for 3 game stretches. That’s about as much as you can ask for from a backup.
  13. Talking tooooo much. Knows he is prob on the chopping block.
  14. He’s got experience on both sides of the ball. After another season or two (if we are lucky) as a coordinator, he will definitely be a head coach.
  15. F*cking HUGE! Evero is gonna be a hot commodity as a HC next season. Gonna have to see who will be in his staff to take his place.
  16. I'll be very excited if they grab Evero as DC. It'l only be for 1 year most likely but what a huge get that will be.
  17. he fit better with a young head coach
  18. They’re very different. How is this even a comparison other than they went to OSU? Fields has the rushing element and is less polished as a passer. Stroud is mostly a pocket QB and has superior passing stats. It’s like comparing Cam Newton to Matt Ryan.
  19. I'm not sure how many people they allow to these intro press conferences, but Rhule's seemed pretty large. But I have a strong feeling the amount of players, both past and present, would have been way higher if Wilks was the hire. The past players in attendance made sense given their history playing with Reich but there were no other former players there from the more recent era, probably as protest they didn't hire Wilks. I was honestly surprised as many current players showed up as they did.
  20. I get what you're saying, but your argument that it's a crapshoot finding a good coach is only half true. Yes, it takes a lot of variables to be successful beyond just hiring the right head coach to have a winning team. It takes a good staff and players, a whole mix of other intangibles, and honestly luck to have sustained success. But at the same time, Matt Rhule was obviously going to be a failure. It wasn't really the "variables" that caused him to be a failure. The red flags were all there before Tepper hired him. He had almost zero NFL experience, he had almost zero NFL connections, he wasn't really that successful in college (never beat a ranked team), the list goes on and on. And once he had two losing seasons, he started to show his true colors and should have been fired. Rhule's insane lack of accountability, excuses, and player-blaming started to come out and it got ugly. I was shocked he was retained for the 2022 season. The fans knew he wasn't going to work out at the end of the 2021 season. It was just a mess. Reich is the polar opposite of Rhule in just about every way. Like you said, it will be a crapshoot. But the chance for success if far higher than it ever was with Rhule.
  21. Matt Rhule's NFL experience was being an assistant position coach for the Giants for 1 season. Frank Reich's NFL experience was being a player for 14 seasons and has been a coaching for 18 years. Tepper realized he f*cked up hiring someone with such little NFL experience and went the complete opposite direction. I think Tepper finally understands that winning in the NFL is hard and you need guys who have been-there-done-that to get it done.
  22. Nixon was Rhule's homie. Albeit one of the few on his staff who had NFL experience before working with Rhule at Baylor.
  23. Reich is about as white bread as it gets. At least he's a good man! Matt Rhule was a sleaze ball who needed to take about 1000 showers
  24. I’d be thrilled if Brian Johnson came in as OC but I have this gut feeling he is the next OC of the Cowboys…. he was Dak’s college QB coach.
