  1. Everyone keeps saying its a good fit. Are they just copying? Yeah because he is the type of 'power' runner they are used to.
  2. Maybe. There were reports we were negotiating though, a while back. I understand those guys are around the same age but other top QBs have signed new deals this year and last. I think they have a pretty good idea of what the market is and what the cap will be. I don't think that's an issue at all, at least from the clubs side at this point. In my opinion, there is only downside to waiting for those guys to set the market, again from the clubs side.
  3. Because they haven't offered him the amount of money he wants.
  4. No but I think he's just representative of our problems. He's been around for a couple of years. Fans know we've not had a strong WR corp's and Gettleman has talked repeatedly about churning the bottom of the roster. Obviously we haven't improved that group, much yet.
  5. Hey, I didn't play football in college. Pay me $2.3m and I'll feel that family atmosphere too.
  6. Williams is also a sprinter. While at the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2009, he recorded a time of 9.90 seconds in the 100 meters at the UTEP Invitational, that ranked as the best under all conditions in school history and fastest time in the world that season.
  7. You really think Gettleman is the first person to say that?
  8. "I've seen plenty of teams win the Super Bowl in March; the idea is to win the Super Bowl in February. That's the goal." - Cam El Sweet, now I can be a GM too.
  9. Makes me wonder, would Gettleman not have drafted Cam, if he'd been our GM at the time. Obviously, that would have been a mistake.
  10. They were just discussing the Raiders on NFLN and how they have to spend cash to meet the threshold. So far, they haven't gotten any of the big names, causing the NFLN guys to speculate they may have to overpay some mid tier guys. Now Hardy isn't a mid tier guy but Casserly suggested they should go after him. If they give him a big contract with lots of guaranteed $ that could net us a high comp pick next year (I think 3rd is the highest). It obviously also depends on who we bring in but at this point but it doesn't look like we are bringing in anyone big. An extra 3rd for Getts would be sweet.
  11. Brandon Browner released. I won't even say it.
  12. Nope, he can have the creamy stuff all day but I'm not giving up the crunchy.
  13. He's not terrible but makes me think we will not be signing anymore WRs in free agency (after Ginn). Still think we draft one.
  14. We are talking about this from a cap standpoint though. They've already restructured Colston and Byrd. From what I've read, Bree's isn't willing to restructure. They have to come up with roughly $18 million by Tuesday, which still wouldn't allow signing any FA's. Then another $5 million around draft time.
  15. According to Spotrac they are $15.8 million over before resigning Ingram, add $5.2 m for their rookies
  16. Obviously we will not know until he lines up on Sunday. For now, I think we have to take solace, in the fact that Matsko knows Oher and Bell well, so they made an informed decision and chose Oher.
  17. Do want. Bring him and Oher in, draft a tackle early to mid and with Remmers we're improved top to bottom.
  18. Yes, please. WR, CB and OT (not necessarily in that order) in rounds 4 - 6 and we'll be aces.
  19. Usually somebody posts a thread listing all prospects the Panthers have spoken to. Is that something the team releases later? I know there are a lot of pro days and incoming visits to go but I'd be interested in seeing who we've met with to date.
  20. Where do you guys get this 'film' on all these players?
  21. He'll still get more $ than we're willing to pay, if he gets cut.
