  1. I would say it's the most apropos stat, but it's certainly not the only one (as you posted). There is plenty of evidence to suggest that Lamar is a good passer, but some Huddlers are just...analytically lazy.
  2. I suspect that the difference will be stark with Tremble and TMJ. I wouldn't count on it enough to NOT acquire more pass catchers though.
  3. Bozeman is the only one. Shaq has always been a little overrated, and he's getting old. PiƱiero? Maybe. Everyone else is take-him-or-leave-him. "A little better than average" is not the ideal expectation for guys on your roster. We have the type of JAGs that you get in FA at some key positions. Let's raise the floor!
  4. Lamar is not a bad passer, which makes your post null and void. His career passer rating is 96.7.
  5. Don't know why so many people are shitting on your post. It's an interesting theory, but I don't necessarily agree with the "great" and "good" at this point. I hope you're right, but I'd say it's good being the enemy of mediocre, or maybe even mediocre effectively being the enemy of the mediocre. I am skeptical that they are so different, so I'm more prone to choose the latter. Admittedly, I wanted a coach that had shown evidence of being able to hang with the best, and, at the end of the day, neither Wilks or Reich have shown that as far as I'm concerned. I'd have rather tried someone new because I don't know that Reich's ceiling is greatness. That's my whole deal, and that's why I'm not jumping for joy or my usually optimistic and open-minded self. I'm skeptical, if not downright cynical. I'll just wait and see how it goes...
  6. They were also interested in getting a young offensive mind. We see how that went. Just saying.
  7. And why would we want to do that? He didn't work in Philly or Indy.
  8. Another safe pick. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. But, I probably wouldn't like it. I know that I wouldn't love it.
  9. I am skeptical that he can out-coach the better coaches of the league based upon some boneheaded, ill-advised plays in the past, but we will see.
  10. Because it's safe, and most people don't want to risk upsetting the applecart.
  11. I really don't have the slightest idea what to expect to be honest.
  12. They haven't won in awhile though, and they've also made subtle changes over the years depending upon personnel. You have to do that. You can't use JuJu like AB for example. The big play offense is gone...for now. I expect they'll upgrade their receivers and we'll see a switch.
  13. Expect Reich to develop players around the scheme as opposed to developing a scheme around players' strengths. And I think that this mindset will seep into general play calling as well situational play calling.
  14. I never said that young guys did not have a lot to prove, but you pretty much know what you're getting with Reich or Wilks: if you're lucky, something above mediocrity but probably not great. They've both been out-coached by some of the better minds in the game. Young minds came up watching different game and may develop more innovative approaches due to their different perspectives. You'll never land the McVays, Shanahans or Siriannis of the world if all you tend to do is go the safe, conservative route.
  15. That's debatable. Reich isn't exactly a poster child for sustained excellence. He has a LOT to prove.
  16. He had several as you know. He never won the division. Luck? No. Rivers? No. Brissett? No. Brissett arguably looked better as a Brown. Ryan looked better in Atlanta. Reich is supposed to be the offensive guru. He's made questionable decisions as HC, and his offense looked like a mess under Ryan.
  17. I agree, but the team still underwhelmed when it came down to crunch time. Also, the team never won a division championship under his leadership...against so-so competition.
  18. That's all good, I think that at some point you have to realize that you can't blame Luck's departure for all of Frank Reich's failures in Indy.
  19. I mean, good interview, but Reich is going to have to prove that he can take us to that top tier. That's what I'm looking for, a coach who will have us threatening for a playoff spot every year, and legitimately contending for a Super Bowl during those years when the personnel has the potential of making that happen. I don't know if Reich is or isn't that guy because of his so-so track record as HC, which I can't just all put on Irsay and Ballard.
