  1. He has produced at a decent level. I've said that the Panthers are playing to his strengths, and that's what they should be doing. It's not what I say, it's really what others have said. I had questions about why the Jags traded him, and why we weren't using him on the outside, so I did research. It all became crystal clear after that.
  2. The Panthers should be playing to the strengths of all their players, and I believe that we're actually doing that now that Rhule is gone. We've been a run-first team as long as I can remember.
  3. Did he have any sacks today, I was at a function and couldn't watch as closely as I generally do.
  4. I'm not saying don't keep him; what I am saying is that you have to know who he is and his limitations. The Panthers are trying to play to his strengths, and that's exactly what they should be doing.
  5. Tracking a ball is really something that you have or you don't. Could he learn it? Perhaps in theory, but not in a practical sense. He's a pro now, and really should've already learned it. It limits him. When it comes to between him and someone else who is more complete, he'll likely always be the odd man out.
  6. No, it's not. It's one of the reasons why the Jags had a hard time trying to figure out how to use him. It's really why they let him go. It's something that has followed him even while he was in college. All you have to do is Google it and/or look at his draft profiles.
  7. I don't. He can't track the ball, which is why so many of his passes are near the LOS. He can't do one of the most important things that a receiver is required to do.
  8. I mean, yeah...we have him under contract for another year. After that, I'd bring him back at market value depending upon the makeup of the WR corps.
  9. I mean, that was the price, Krovvy. Everyone who wanted him, including many here, knew there was a price to pay. I'd have rather had the bigger, stronger, more athletic, more accurate, and more achieved in Fields, and I honestly thought we were going to take him until Jaycee's name was called.
  10. I don't have time to read at the moment, but just in general I think it's too soon to make any definitive judgment. But, I also think that coaches are generally susceptible to the notion that higher draft picks are better simply because they're higher--and hyped. It's another lesson about being patient.
  11. I mean, I've heard the saying (in so many words) that "Backup QB in the NFL is the best job in sports." I'm not gonna hate on him for making his bag, but I'm not going to fret over him bombing out as a QB either. He's doing OK for himself financially. He seems pretty centered and mature as well, so I suspect he'll be good if he has a resurgence as a legit starter, finds a home as a longstanding backup, or washes out of the league.
  12. I meant to say "while the iron is hot," but y'all get my drift.
  13. I mean, Goff was never all that bad in the first place, just young and unseasoned from what I recall. McVay was supposed to be this wunderkind coach also, so what's the deal? It could be simply a lesson in being impatient, or maybe just striking while the perceived fire is hot. On kind of an off note, they went in with their eyes wide open. Some people said that they were going to have to pay for the deal once all was said and done. They won a chip, now the chickens have come home to roost. It's the cost of doing business...their way.
  14. My thing is that more than a few people were putting Baker on a pedestal (sometimes based on laughable evidence), just totally overlooking his obvious deficiencies in their zest to label him as the best thing going, much like Rhule did. People here did it, and the writers did it. Only a few were calling him on his bullshit then, but everyone wants to heap on now. As for me, I didn't hate the deal, as much as I hated what it ultimately meant for Corral. The fact is, the deal wasn't bad from a real capital or a draft perspective. I think that it ultimately led to the serious stunting of Corral's development, maybe even irreparably (but hopefully not). As for how it ultimately affected our draft position, Baker's presence actually didn't do a thing, and may have even helped. Honestly, it's time to move on from Rhule in every respect. That experience and the Baker experiment here are over. I'm sure that his next coach and the corresponding fan base will be much more realistic in regards to how they judge and value Baker relative to their own situation and QB room.
  15. So many people were so wrong about Baker, and it wasn't just Rhule. I think that it would behoove many to just let the Revisionist History Express ride on by.
  16. Yeah, @Basbear explained it (albeit using an analogy). I totally overlooked that angle from Seattle's perspective because of Geno (and Lock to a lesser degree).
  17. He asked to be released.
  18. He didn't want Rosen at all. He wanted Allen.
  19. I thought I'd get a woman's translation, a mature mom of a 24 year old young man, but a woman's perspective nonetheless. I read this to my wife, and she said that they can't be married or he wouldn't have thrown in the part about the "title" she carries. My wife also said that it's obvious that he screwed another woman. She also said that Moore is "sorry until the next p***y he slips in." She also advised the girl to get hers, and said that Moore is on the hook for child support if he doesn't know how to act. As for the public apology, she thought it was "stupid." She said that he's trying to appease her with a public apology. She said that the only thing that's going to appease her is his fidelity, and that he didn't need to go public in order to be faithful, as that's squarely on him. He's the only one that can control that. Do better, D.J.! Put a ring on it and be faithful if this woman, relationship and family is all that you say.
