  1. Well, he absolutley shouldn't be close to his ceiling. I'm expecting greater things from Baker. I feel that he can do it, but I have to go on more than just a feeling. Like I said: next week.
  2. I know what Robbie can do, and now that we actually have a QB that can get him the ball, you will see (again). It's simply just stupid to judge a man for a couple of bad weeks in one season. Stop the madness. He serves a vital purpose on this offense.
  3. You may be right. He's not proved to be anything special. Stefanski wasn't great today, but he had heart and seemed to have a better finger on the pulse of his team (and ours unfortunately).
  4. Excuses. I am evaluating him fairly. You're not. Comparisons to Cam and Jake are disingenuous. Baker is a seasoned vet for better or for worse. He has to do better. Get over it.
  5. Rhule was chicken sh¡t. I fully believe that we should've played for a TD as opposed to settling for a FG. I don't believe that Brissett could've taken them down the field. That was my main problem with Rhule today.
  6. Not really. Just calling it how I see it. There's nothing overly emotional about it. Buti, if it makes you feel better about your espousing strawman nonsense, then fine. I have gone on record of saying that Corral might be done (at least here). Such is the way that careers go when your introduction to the NFL is bungled. That being said, I hadn't thought about Corral in a couple of weeks, much less today. Baker having to prove himself as a legit franchise-level QB as opposed to a glorified backup shouldn't be that difficult to understand. I'm genuinely rooting for him, but he did little today to prove to me that he is still anything but a question mark.
  7. I think that he's a good role player, but not necessarily the main guy. I don't think that we should feel a sense of urgency to sign him just because we have nothing better too do.
  8. Yep. And If the Browns had an actual starting-level QB, the game wouldn't have been close.
  9. He won't get that opportunity. If we have the first pick, Rhule won't be making it.
  10. Yeah, losing to the Giants last year was a low for me. If we lose to them again this year, with a QB that ostensibly is a marked upgrade over Darnold and Walker, I won't be able to see any promise in this team or Rhule at all.
  11. If Baker actually hits Shi as opposed to throwing the crucial pick, that may have changed a loss into a win. He was as much a part of this loss as anyone. Baker is going to have to play better. Does he have it in him? Maybe. He's going to have to prove that he's a franchise QB, just like anyone. Some of you need to raise your expectations. If we had won, it would have been an ugly win. It was not a dominant performance. Maybe Baker will have one next week.
  12. This is stupid. My thoughts on Baker and especially his play today have absolutely nothing to do with Corral. Zero! I'm not drinking the Baker Kool-Aid simply because you think that I should. He wasn't good enough today, and obviously the Browns (and, I don't know, maybe 30 other FOs) weren't gorging on the Baker Kool-Aid as much as you. I said that he's going to have to play better, and that's what I mean. His career has been decidedly average. Make all the excuses you want to in the world, and it's not going to change the bottom line. If Baker doesn't show much better than he did today, then he won't be getting an opportunity to lead us anywhere next season. I'm rooting for him, but I expected better than we got today. Maybe next week.
  13. It's nothing I didn't say before he was signed. Furthermore, I don't think it's too critical. Mayfield has a body of work that didn't begin today. Heart and fire is only going to take you so far. Franchise QBs have that and then some.
  14. So much promise, but so much suck. We've already seen Brown's ceiling.
  15. Yeah, it wasn't a pretty showing, but it was largely effective. I think part of that was the fact that we are actually talented, though inconsistent (which might be a bigger problem), but I also believe that Brissett sucking. We'll try again next week though. There is reason to be guardedly optimistic in my opinion.
  16. We did not play our best. The game wasn't necessarily coached well either, but the refs absolutely put the Browns into a position to win. They were dog sh¡t.
  17. Baker's interception was definitely a bad one. He is not without blame. Baker's going to have to play much better than he did.today before I proclaim him as our future. I didn't see anything different than I've always seen from Baker. His consistency is lacking and his decision making is still suspect until it isn't. In my opinion, some Panthers' fans just want a franchise QB so bad, that they've mentally lowered their expectations. I'm not saying Baker can't be a franchise QB, but today's play is not what I'd consider fitting for a franchise-level QB in today's NFL. He simply has to do better. No cap!
  18. The Panthers are gonna pound the Browns like a drum, and the reverberations of the beating will resonate around the NFL and put the league on notice that the Panthers are legitimate contenders.
  19. I mean, I don't know what you're expecting. I have yet to see any owner in NFL history make a grand proclamation that they fuged up by hiring the wrong guy. It's just kinda accepted. There's no need to say it, because everyone already knows it. It also doesn't really serve any practical purpose. Most fans are just happy that a bad HC was fired and are eager to move on. There's no need to waddle in the failures of the past.
  20. They took a flyer on him. And, yes, it's not inconceivable that Hoskins is better than Nixon (he was during the extremely limited times that I saw him). I don't know what else to tell you. Day 3 picks are day 3 picks. Along with UDFAs, they're highly speculative.
  21. Put the check in the win column. People seem to have forgotten what CMC can do. We may not stop Chubb, but we'll slow him down. We already know that Mayfield is motivated, and Brissett won't be able to match him. Our corners are better than theirs, and if Mayfield uses everything at his disposal, they're receivers can't match ours.
  22. True. You want to hit on the early picks for sure, that's why the hit rate is higher, but drafting is an imperfect science, if a science at all. All I'm saying is that at the end of the day, it doesn't matter what round the starters come from, as long as you acquire them.
