  1. do you hope we get a bunch of 1 o clock games too because “that’s when football is meant to be played”
  2. if the panthers give the superior england Patriots a franchise QB then they are facing down the very real possibility of being the organization people laugh at come draft time because they overvalued some post round 1 garbage this is the kind of thing the media revisits repeatedly and Kyle Brandt laughs at you for every single time So and So wins a playoff game and your really promising mid round guard washes out of the league before his second contract
  3. okay so we’re on record for who you’d rather have making decisions for your ball club, it’s nice to get a straight answer
  4. If Bill Belichick thinks a guy is a franchise QB and Matt rhule and Scott Fitterer think that same guy isn’t one then there’s a much bigger concern facing the Carolina Panthers as an organization
  5. Panthers give Patriots 8 overall in return they get #15, a 2, and a 4 The post draft presser centers around “obtaining a franchise QB” for “really no cost at all” and “the analytical data really supports” Fields wins OROY
  6. they’re gonna do it theyre gonna give Bill Belichick another franchise QB and all they’re gonna get out of it is some mid round crap so they can say “we got Sam darnold for basically nothing!”
  7. within the confines of this thread he’s already said that Fields and Darnold are both “essentially rookies” as if we should grade them along the same curve (hedging his bets) as if darnold hasn’t been the leagues literal worst QB over the last three seasons
  8. I really don’t care what they do at this point should've made a run at a QB edit: also wasn’t one of your earlier questions about Horn pertaining to a question of whether or not teams went out of their way to avoid him
  9. You can’t have it both ways Either the 49ers acquired a franchise QB and we didn’t and cost is irrelevant or the prospects aren’t very good and the trade didn’t affect us at all and the team is now stacking itself on the notion that none of these QB prospects will be very good minimum investment options for minimum investment players aren’t actually conducive to the part of the sport that actually matters
  10. getting outmanuevered by a superior organization isn’t a defense, it’s an indictment
  11. getting the rare opportunity to draft a top flight QB prospect doesn’t come along very often and signing some bust so you can “check a need” and “free yourself up” to draft some HOG MOLLY or other ancillary position that will just waste away here until we luck into a QB is an awful, awful approach that reeks of college coach/ new owner symbiotic stupidity (with a touch of Seattle draft idiocy thrown in for good measure)
  12. www.si.com/.amp/nfl/2021/04/05/carolina-panthers-teddy-bridgewater-sam-darnold-trade-settling “According to former colleague Jonathan Jones, now of CBS, the Panthers have already committed to an $18-plus million fifth-year option for Darnold, in addition to the final year of his rookie contract. They are essentially prolonging their bridge-option quarterbacking phase for an additional year, instead of allowing Bridgewater the chance to showcase his growth in the system. It would be surprising if the Panthers were internally thrilled about how this all worked out. While Plan C can always hit, leaving us to again finger wag at the Jets and their almost mystical inability to develop quarterback talent, the Panthers are more than likely deepening their holding pattern and squandering assets in the process.“
  13. SportsLine @SportsLine Our advanced model simulated the NFL season 10,000 times. Carolina is a lot worse with Sam Darnold rather than Teddy Bridgewater w/Teddy Wins 7.5 DIV 3.6% Playoff 17.4% w/Sam Wins 6.3 DIV 0.9% Playoff 6.2%
  14. Why am I not surprised you’ve resorted to brain numbing cliches as the sudden horror realization that you lifted up brad Johnson as something for us to aspire to set in
  15. lol 4 and 7? do you really not know when brad Johnson and Trent differ, whom you espoused as ideals we should be hoping for played football? scratch Reddit pal, maybe the team Facebook page is more your speed
  16. because it would be stupid to make this kind of trade before the draft, agreed, spot on
  17. lol you’re the one arguing that the modern nfl is as the same as it always has been id say my mother has forgotten more football than you know in light of that
