So he's out of runway after 5 games into his 2nd season, after he was picked #1 overall? Now that would be such a Panthers thing to do. If he's showing steady improvement, and doing the things that we thought he couldn't do last season and the first 2 games this season, then he needs to develop consistency. That's a better approach than running out to get another new QB that may or may not work out. Look. He's played horribly for the vast majority of his short career, but if he consistently shows improvement while winning games, then you don't just move on because he used to suck really bad. Particularly when he's still not in a desirable situation to put up numbers. Either way, continue to build the team. And when the team is good, then get the rookie QB if you need to. Until then, Bryce is showing enough development that he doesn't hinder the development of other players. Actually our young offensive players look better with Bryce than with Dalton. As soon as that isn't the case, he needs to go. Post haste.

Whoa!!! Take it easy. I'm only trying to give a little perspective. Good QBs with good WRs aren't really lighting up the Giants in the passing game. Bryce has been improving every week for the last 3 games. Agreed that his starting point was pretty freakin low, but at this point he isn't going in the wrong direction like the first 2 games. I get your take on him. You don't have to keep reminding everyone. I think almost everyone here agrees that he needs a lot of improvement to be handed the keys to the franchise. At this point, he's what we have. And Bryce Young figuring it out is the best thing for the Carolina Panthers. You don't have to agree. It's just the truth.

I think we're being a little harsh with the judgment towards Bryce right now. He is definitely showing growth. Just wish he could have shown this level of confidence last season. But to be fair, the oline and weapons were horrible for a rookie QB. So from here on out we should be able to see if the real Bryce Young can be an NFL franchise QB. Also can't forget he's playing with 3 rookies as his primary targets. The 7th WR taken off the board, a 4th round TE, and an UDFA WR. On paper, that's not a great scenario, particularly for a 2nd year QB. Take away a couple of drops and a silly illegal formation, and Bryce would have around 175 yards and 2 TDs Sunday. Here are some other passing numbers against the Giants this season: Burrows - 208 yds Hurts - 114 yds Daniels - 209 yards and 226 yards Darnold - 208 yards Watson - 196 yards Dak - 221 yards

I love the way he attacks the ball every time. That's a QB's best friend. Sanders, Legette and Coker all have that "go get the ball" gene. Unfortunately Mingo has the "let it come to me" gene. That leads to interceptions, PBUs and no PIs.

Burns type rushers are Ickey's worst nightmare. Better give him help. Would rather see a TE on Burns than Ickey

5 starter-level rookies and a likely 6th (consensus best RB in the draft) is insane in one off-season! Free agent moves were solid. Injuries hurt the defense alot. Plus traded a 7th round rookie for Michael Jackson who looks like a solid starter. I don't know man. I'm pretty impressed.

Yeah. Great athlete. Not an NFL wide receiver. Honestly think he'd be better on defense. In the future, carolina needs to make sure receiver prospects actually have ball skills. How does he track the ball, does he catch with his hands, does he highpoint balls, does he catch low passes, does he catch in traffic? Maybe start there. Then field awareness and route running. All of that is infinitely more important than size and 40 time.
-
Huge difference in this game. Biggest improvements being in Bryce's confidence in himself to throw the ball downfield, trust in his oline to protect, and trust in his receivers to make plays when covered. Nothing new with regards to throws and anticipation. He's always done that stuff. Just not consistently.

Frankw that's not what he's saying. Dalton has the best body of work so far this season. No one denies that. But you have a 37 years old QB who will be a FA next season that is trending down, and a 23 years old on a rookie contract trending upwards. You go with the young guy if possible. You find reasons to go with the young guy until he makes you go the other direction.

Would rather see Jordan Matthews out there than Ian Thomas.

I think this is more about rookies actually contributing to the team than the team winning. And you're right, probably not winning many/any more this season.

And Demani Richardson- UDFA

He crazy for even trying that.

Yes I'm serious. Are you? I said I'd call it a strip/fumble instead of an interception because the receiver caught the ball and then the defender took it from him. Of course, they're going to classify it as an INT against the QB, but the play was actually made against the receiver. How old are you?
-
The receiver caught the ball and the defender took it from him. The defender didn't catch the ball out of the air. He took it from the ball carrier. Why is that so difficult for you to accept?
-
Saquan Barkley just made the best 10 yards run I've ever seen.
-
I'm not convinced he's the future right now, but I have been encouraged by what I've seen the last 2 weeks. If this was his rookie season, I'd be all for it. Maybe that's how we have to look at it for now. Though it's hard to forget the first 2 games this season. If he continues to show improvement, and confidence in himself and receivers, then we may have something. Would like to see a few more deep shots and better pocket awareness.
-
Hmmm... you may be on to something.
-
Because he took it from the player. If I run 5 yards with the ball and you take it away from me, it's considered a fumble. Geez bro.
