  1. I mean even Peppers was “lazy, took plays off, and loved basketball more than football.” Cam, from a talent standpoint, was undeniable. “Can he make reads” was the question on the field. And the rest was “he’s a selfish thug stealing laptops.” So I get the point, but he had number 1 potential and ability. A lot of criticism was just talk, and even outright hit pieces. I don’t see that QB in this draft, where the top 2 have huge concerns regarding exceptional supporting talent, and physical limitation.
  2. So people who disagree just aren’t knowledgeable. Sweet. The Browns got their guy a few years back. Now he’s on our team, while two MVP caliber QB’s went after him. It’s just not that simple, and tanking in the NFL isn’t the same as the NBA, where #1 truly matters.
  3. Why do you think he’s a rich man’s Corral? Corral never had this level of talent around him, nor the line. I like how Young scans the field, but I can’t ignore how many times he gets 5+ seconds to do so. The talent surrounding him is just as big of a red flag as his size IMO.
  4. When QB’s get hit, it’s typically 250+ pound men who do the hitting. Not the same as Desean Jackson getting tackled by corners.
  5. Sure, but it’s not irrelevant that in this example, the Colts used the 4th overall pick to draft another back to replace him. Another hall of famer.
  6. Chinn will be the fuging man once he’s back playing as an in box safety.
  7. Charlotte Hornets. It was a joke because they always suck too.
  8. I was around. It was so easy to fall in love with the potential. Red flags? Absolutely. But the dude was one of, if not the most physically gifted QB prospect of all time, and he dominated the SEC, carrying Auburn on his back. The main concern was “CaM iS a SeLfIsH tHuG” which always needs to be taken with a grain of salt.
  9. Well philosophically any discussion about the panthers, ever, isn’t worth having because we can’t impact anything as fans. So discussing the draft is pointless, unless we are in position to discuss with Fitterer/new coach. Discussing potential coaches is a waste unless we are discussing with Fitt/Tepper. Seems silly cherry picking what is worth talking about, if, in the end, all of the discussion is pointless anyway because we don’t have say.
  10. If he was used the right way, he isn’t pigeonholed as simply a ”running back”. He’d have a Deebo type value instead. To be fair, considering his injury history, I think San Fran have us “shifty Deebo with injury history” value.
  11. Sure. The trade is done. Can’t have discussion though? Chinn doesn’t appear as valuable 30 yards away from the ball, but his value is obvious when used correctly. Thats all I’m saying. CMC was used wrong. Which impacts/limits his ability to help win games. But sure. He’s gone. Doesn’t matter. You are right about that.
  12. That’s complicated though. We are the worst team, but I don’t think we are the least talented team. No quarterback, and an offensive coordinator who would ruin a middle school football team have really fuged the offense.
  13. Agreed. Look forward to seeing how he’s utilized.
  14. The trade is what it is, and the value we got in return is great for a running back (and a player with injury history). However, he isn’t simply a replaceable running back. He was grotesquely misused by our franchise, and I think that will be made clear in SF. He should have been used at least 50/50 receiving and running, and occasionally up the middle on those runs. Not hammered up the gut every possession. What a waste. His skill level is off the charts, and if used correctly (in space…fuging DUH) he is a difference maker and uncoverable. If he had proper coaching, his value would have been elite receiver value, not “never draft a runningback high” value. Because that’s not what the dude is. He can do it…but being able to do something doesn’t mean that’s what you should be doing. I look forward to him flourishing in a similar Deebo role, and being allowed to run outside on stretch zone plays. I know this is obvious to some, but the “running backs are a dime a dozen” crowd isn’t being fair to what CMC is. fug Rhule. fug Tepper. fug McAdoo. Here’s to the 2023 NFL draft. Hope the Hornets can hold me over.
  15. Hardest holes to fill. Some franchises go a decade or more not doing it.
  16. All I know is it would take tua Bryce Young to make one Cam Newton.
  17. I think Sam is a lost cause too, but too much weight is put on this. If you’re getting hit/pressured all the time, you naturally get conditioned to it. The occasional clean pocket ain’t gonna be comforting. You are expecting to get that ass blown up.
