Morning folks! So Terrace Marshall, Chuba Hubbard and Tommy Tremble all look super super promising. I mean, I'm really impressed and quite excited with the young offensive weapons we brought it. Haynes has been one hell of a sneaky but effective player the past few seasons and his situational rushing role could serve us very well. I can see him being used in a variety of ways with his hybrid size and style. D Line depth got decent penetration, looked tough. Room to grow but you can tell the energy from our starters has fed off with these younger guys. Our current OL is Erving-Elflein-Paradis-Miller-Moton. We just started Scott-Kaskey-Tecklenberg-Brown-Christensen with the right side looking aight. While Erving and Elf aren't ideal, we didn't see our starters, and we didn't even see our depth with starters. We saw a full second team that includes guys that won't make the 53. Wasn't pretty but had some moments. We drop into the non-53 level at Trent Scott, so we're about 7-8 deep on the line with 2 injury prone guys in Erving and Daley. We DO need to snag maybe a waiver wire/late cut, but fact is we still have 4 of our 5 starters on the OL going into 2020. It's not dire. But yeah, I'd like to see Christensen advance and Erving and/or Elflein competed with. Dennis Daley: please come back and stay in tact. I wouldn't mind seeing what you got if you can stay on the field. I think he's got the talent but his availability is starting to push him into the limbo zone. He's the one to push Elf IMO and really serve as our best depth & emergency LT. Sax's projected line (This is a bold prediction if Brady C pushes into the lineup): Moton-Elflein-Paradis-Miller-Christensen PJ PJ PJ, I like that he just pushes the ball down field, and I look around the league and don't see much quality at backup anyways. He is likely our backup. Sam Franklin w/ 2 TFL, I'm rooting for him to push Burris. Could be a good battle. That, LT and LG are the remaining non-rotational starter battles from what I'm seeing. So yeah, keep our eyes out for an OL in coming weeks. Cheers, stay saxy

I would say it more being a bad second team than OL depth. I.E., we have swing linemen that back up so we're not going to be seeing the Matt Kaskeys, Sam Tecklenbergs start or backup during the season. This is why I'm not overly concerned. We didn't see any of our starting linemen but we saw potential in our two rookies which is good. Daley didn't travel (family thing right?) So I'm still optimistic we'll be just as slightly below average as we were last season with maybe some better spurts with a young active crew. Current Starters: Erving-Elflein-Paradis-Miller-Moton Current Depth: Daley T/G, Christensen T/G, Brown G, Scott T/G Scott did himself no favors after looking alright last season. But if the trend continues and Brady keeps pushing, could be looking at this week 1 with Erving's iffiness: Moton-Elflein-Paradis-Miller-Christensen

A poor line can have a ripple and he showed better than anticipated. We started Trent Scott, Matt Kaskey, Sam Tecklenberg, & our 6th rounder along side him so definitely give him credit.

I don’t think saying the line doesn’t look good is some doom and gloom over reactionary thing. The line is simply iffy. The convo has got a bit silly. I will say, I think we have the right coach. And the defense could become a force. Just need Brady and this offense to find a way. Luckily, his spread works quickly and the lesser quality guys we have were picked because they fit the system. Seriously, if Daley proves his injuries were a hiccup to start his career, I think he's a fine linemen to have. And you're right about Scott being totally serviceable. Problem sounds like Erving, Elflein, and Brady C. Which is frustrating because they were our 3 main offseason pickups for the OL. My question is: Why bring in competition at the same-ish level for the line rather than focus on an upgrade at one spot? LT and LG needed upgrades. We decided to pick the battlebots who had been through a few rounds on the losing end and threw them back in the pit to fight it out. Still like Rhule but I don't get how we can't find something better than at least Oher these days.

Maybe one of our new backup QBs was on the Colts side today. I wouldn't be opposed but considering how shaky the Wentz situation is, they may carry 3. So who did well? Colin Thompson's name keeps popping up. Rodney Smith, CJ Saunders. Thompson is probably kicking Ian Thomas off the squad (well I guess he really didn't need to). Line wise, Moton and Trent Scott have looked good and the rest have been meh and below. The bad: Shaq, Little, Erving, Elflein, Brady C Erving and Elflein are looking how, well, how they've always looked. Still very odd signings considering how early we signed them and the marketplace.

Kugbila over Bakhtiari (next pick) is the bigger one, arguably the biggest miss in our history. Bakhtiari was right there in our laps, a huge need, many tied him to us, projected maybe a G more than a T at the time, and we took a guy no one heard of from a small school. That right there could have been Cam's saving grace and I deem it the pick that forever was a miss. Biggest miss in our history for a "shouldawouldacoulda". Trey Smith hasn't played a snap yet so let's please hold the moaning for him. Nothing has played out minus training camps.

Yeah if the Nixon situation fell into our laps/he grew up (there were background concerns for his drop from a day 2 pick to where he was), then we may have landed a legitimate impact lineman late. Taylor and Smith are exciting, Taylor must be quietly impressing. He has great size, speed and footwork.

Selfishly bumping this in light of the depth chart release. Jermaine Carter Jr. is listed as our starting MLB Sam Franklin is listed as SS2 Bayless v. Zylstra v. Kirkwood v. Saunders is a battle for the WR6-7 (maybe we carry 8?)

If we land on just one of these boys, it will be huge. They’ve got something brewing that could be a really competitive team in the East.

So the OL has actualized a bit more this camp. Barring signings or injuries it’s looking like: Erving-Elflein-Paradis-Miller-Moton Swing backups: 6-Daley (T/G), 7-Scott (T/G), 8-Brady (G), 9-Deonte (G) backup center: Tecklenberg? Sounds like Daley v Miller and Scott v Erving are the battles remaining for LT and RG. Don’t love that Elflein signing but we’ll see what shakes out.

I'm gonna hold, it's my bold prediction. Reddick, Perryman and Shaq will prove to be a good group but I think Carter has a chance to be a really good SAM for us. This is his final year to prove it and earn a second contract whether with us or elsewhere. I just see potential with him, heck more than Mayo or Klein ever did when with us.

That senior bowl week, analysts had him as high as a 3rd/4th rounder. I have to imagine there was some type of thing with him not translating whether it was learning, attitude, etc. if he couldn't make it to the first preseason game. We quietly still have Rhule's old Baylor center in Tecklenberg on the team. Find that interesting.
