Panther play calling has boiled down to this fact. "You can't polish a turd but at least you can put ketchup on it" -
Are we winning any other games?!? Anything? Or we going 1-16?
PghPanther replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well for me...............I can understand how this team has lost 8 games .........but what I can't understand is how they managed to win a game...........and that against CJ Stroud. -
While he was shaking his head this was what was going on in his thoughts........... "Just imagine I own a franchise in a sports league where no matter how much they suck my investment keeps pushing my revenue through the roof........amazing...................hey where's that ketchup bottle at I asked for?..........."

Right but at the entry level there is some overlap in that...........PR can often mean sending out new releases aka journalistic duties as well.

That's exactly what my nephew did for an NHL team.....being a sports junkie and working in communications it was a dream starter job for him.....but once meeting a girl and wanting to get married he couldn't wait to find a job that paid a livable wage.
-
Most likely she was in in a social media communication PR position with the franchise which is an entry level positive for many sports/communication majors out of college. I had a nephew work one of those in the NHL...................Rush Limbaugh had his first job in the media doing PR for the KC Royals in MLB.... Those jobs barely pay a living wage and if you are single work for a while as you try to climb the ladder.......my nephew couldn't afford to live alone and had to find a roommate to pay the bills...........for some they get to rub shoulders a bit with the players and other higher profile media type which is where they hope will be their ticket out of the "paying your dues" position they are in. If you take a job like this with a NASCAR team they send you out on the road with a body shell look alike show car and you sit out front at a sponsors store front and hand out discount flyers to shoppers as they ask dumb questions about a car that often doesn't even have an engine in it....... In other words the job sucks.............and nobody knows you are doing it.

As if we needed more reasons to hate Jimmy Clausen...

"Americans pay too much attention to entertainers and sports figures" - Samuel Clemens -
The fact that you feel that way about a team that Stroud plays on that finished in the bottom of the barrel last year only exposes how inept the Panthers are in that department and as such makes such a comment a moot point in trying to justify Young's ability.

"Smart" is not neccessarly the defining trait here..........more like reactive........such as in a predatory situational awareness as a trait needed for survival...........not planned contemplation as that's over when a play breaks down as shown here.
-
If Tepper is smart he goes after Jim Harbaugh.

any of you know any billionaires? I know two.........and they are control freaks when it comes to their wealth no matter what it is they own. They will micromanage anyone because they know the answers even if they don't know the questions. They are too used to being worshipped by the long line of brown noses around them and can't stand not feeling in control. Their public persona is a different game for public consumption only. Harbaugh? "We liked some of his ideas but he's not really a good fit for our organization." - You know who. -
Humans are pattern seekers......babies imprint their mothers face for ID in a safe human............and we do it in rituals actions where we've had previous success like baseball batters do at the plate........ We do it in investing all the time......reading tea leaves called technical analysis. But the bottom line is past performance doesn't not necessarily dictate future expectations.

It sucks to be a Panthers fan, it's worse to be a Bills fan....
PghPanther replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
It depends..........would you rather be close and miss the goal.......or completely so far away from the goal it hardly matters. How did you feel when the Panthers lost the SB 2 times.........was it worth the ride for the disappointment or would you have rather not gone if you would lose. I think only each person can answer that......... -

Swiss Cheese Oline.................all you need to know. Try seeing if you can win one game first.

Player Rule #1 in the NFL - You need the NFL but the NFL doesn't need you. Player Rule #2 in the NFL - You are replaceable. Player Rule #3 in the NFL - See #1 and #2. Player Rule #4 in the NFL - If you think #3 isn't applicable to you.......then learn to update your resume and how does selling cars or insurance sound fella?

I remember a Steeler camp in the 70s when a new crop of rookies came in including a hailed brilliant WR from USC by the name of Lynn Swann. First day out on the field he was standing by Terry Bradshaw and saw him throw a 60 year bomb on target to a WR at full speed and looked at Bradshaw with his mouth agape being astonished by the speed, distance and accuracy of the play and Terry just looked back at him and said, "Welcome to the NFL son".

Seriously, do y'all want a positive vibes only thread?
PghPanther replied to LinvilleGorge's topic in Carolina Panthers
Positive/Negative.......doesn't matter. While its a business to some and an obsession to others the bottom line for most people is its a game for entertainment and as such shouldn't be such an impact in a person's life that they should worry about whether comments are positive or negative. A person should be able to just turn off the TV on NFL Sundays and read a good book or do some other activity instead without it ruining their lives....... I realize "fan" is short for fanatic but would like to think that is more of a metaphor than a reality for most.
