  1. Or does this just make it easier to evaluate those who come from a 'pro' system? Just because they didn't do it in college, doesn't mean they can't. Yes, they may have an advantage getting acclimated but it ultimately comes down to the player's ability.
  2. Agree to disagree. Look up the definition of work and hardworking and training for football definitely fits. Just because you enjoy something doesn't mean it's not difficult and training for your profession (whether you actually make it or not) can definitely be considered work. It's not called playing out it's called working out. And in my son's case he has a 4.4 GPA so he's been 'working' in class also.
  3. I know NFL players are well (overly) compensated and to some degree spoiled. Let's just remember though, how hard you have to work to get there. Someone mentioned high school football in another thread and it made me want to take a moment and brag. My son is a high school junior and he has trained for the past sixteen months without knowing what this season may look like. Spring 2020 when they weren't allowed on campus he was doing bear crawls up the hill and pull-ups on a tree branch in our backyard. Two weeks ago he and his team (Salem Spartans) won the Virginia Class 4 State Championship. They travelled over 4 hours for a true road game and (prepared) played with subpar facilities (it's usually a neutral site but not this year, they weren't given a locker room to use). They overcame a 6-0 halftime deficit and 4 onsides (thanks refs) attempts in the final minute to win 28-20. I was so proud of him and his teammates and their opponents for all they have been through and preserved in the past year. Really makes you appreciate things as they get back to normal. Go Spartans! Go Panthers!
  4. Live rookie press conference on YouTube right now. Currently talking to David Moore.
  5. The schedule has us facing the Bucs twice in the last three weeks. Does this mean they are predicting the division will be decided by these three games?
  6. In other words, he effing pegged us right! Damn! Practice da redzone Matt!
  7. I'm hoping he says we take criticism constructively and see if we can use it to improve.
  8. 2-2. We beat the Jets at home. Saints still have a really good roster and I'm not ready to declare we have an advantage at QB, Saints win. Texans are a dumpster fire and I doubt Watson plays, Panthers win. In a good game, Dallas outscores us
  9. Could this be an analytics issue? Could they be spending an equivalent amount of time practicing red zone as they actually spend in the red zone? Meaning they are spending more time practicing between the 20s. As we improve moving the ball into the red zone, maybe the time devoted to practicing there will increase.
  10. Exactly. Don't forget how they talked about learning a lot during the GM search about how other organizations operate. Maybe they're trying to glean more knowledge.
  11. Also, don't we contract something out to some agency? Seems like Gettleman changed that when he came in maybe something else that could change. Maybe aggregate information on college players or something.
  12. Yeah. I saw that article and had no idea what in the hell they were talking about.
  13. If you get the time out error just bang your phone on a table. Clears it right up, every time.
  14. You're largely correct but if we want a starting left tackle (from the draft) for the upcoming season, I think it has to be the next pick.
  15. In fairness, that's traditionally the way we have played. I agree, I don't think this staff wants to but it's all we've seen.
