It wasn't that we didn't like it when we did it to Ickey. It was the stupid camp competition. Either put him there or don't. But wasting time doing pointless battles doesn't help anyone when our oline had been a plug and play of rejects from other teams.

Russ would take off, but they didn't really design a lot of plays designated for him to run. Not saying there weren't any, just not near to the extent we did with Cam. They were very focused on keeping him from taking RB type contact repeatedly.

Exactly. They've sold themselves out so much to win now, they're going to crash. You have to be able to build through the draft. Anyone that thinks they're going to build a continual winner out of UDFAs, no matter how good McVay is, is fooling themselves.

That didn't include trading DJ. That was Burns only with the picks acquired for CmC.

worst half in panther football history?

I have Mixon as my starting RB in 2 leagues this week. -
I don't think CmC was the face of the franchise anymore. It's hard to be the face from IR.

I've been a pretty adamant supporter of Fitts during Rhule's tenure because of the micromanagement, but if he really did turn down 2 1sts and a 2nd without Tepper telling him no to the trade, he needs to go. If we did end up at 3, it's likely Stroud and Young are both gone. Replace your edge at 3 with Anderson, and if there is another QB that you really want, you have enough firepower in picks to move up to get him. 2 2nds this year and 4 future 1sts is a lot of muscle in the trade room. We aren't winning it all this year. This team needs to rebuild. All those picks from CmC and Burns could have taken this franchise a long way. Of course that's all speculation that Tepper hadn't interfered, but I keep getting that sinking gut feeling he's more like Jerry Jones than we think.

I'm in the PNW and Walmarts here start doing inventory roll over about now. Socks go on sail usually 5 pair for a buck. Not sure about Charlotte area but that might be a great place for anyone looking to do a massive stock up for your drive for very little cost.

Take a deep breath and don't worry until sausage is involved.

That starts with a NFL caliber coach. Hopefully our brain trust has recognized this

Rams Offering Two (Future) Firsts for Burns
SmokinwithWilly replied to OnlyPantherFaninMaine's topic in Carolina Panthers
Their offensive line looks like ours last year. Burns likely wouldn't have made a huge impact on their season finish. I would have like to have both of those 1sts. Even if they weren't top 10 picks, which I believe they will be at least a top half in 24 and a top 10 in 25, you can still get some pretty high end talent at this picks. WR, LB, safety, center, DT can all be gotten mid to early 1st round and have an impact. Shoulda woulda coulda, we will see if it was worth it. If we do find out qb in the draft this year, having 2 1sts the next 2 years could have been really beneficial. -

So if we don't end up liking one of the top QBs this year or aren't in a position to get one, how much easier would it be to move with 2 1sts in 24 and an extra in 25 as compensation. There's a lot of dynamics at play. I like Burns, but if trading him could increase the likelihood of getting a franchise QB, I gotta make that move. Way more at play than just Burns for picks. We gotta know how the GM and coaches view this year's qb prospects as well. -

Now you just have to hope that Burns wants to stay. He hasn't given any indication he doesn't, but Peppers wanted out of Carolina. Carolina has been a train wreck for years and we're starting over again. As great as the money is, these guys want rings too. We don't have a great track record of success. It's not all about what we want. -

Could be but you need a buyer. Rams are the only offer we've heard about offering 1sts. -
A player is only worth what Someone else is willing to pay. They probably didn't think he was worth a new big payday and decided to move on. Get a new young TE on the cheap with one of those picks to pair with their new QB.

Which is why I would want this year's 2nd as well if we were to do this. DE is an elite value position but we also need the ability to trade and move to get the best qb we can. We didn't want to trade away draft capital to get Herbert. Getting a top 2 pick is no guarantee and there's no guarantee you get the guy you want anyway. More picks give more ability to do what is necessary. -

He's had Urban Meyer and Matt Rhule guiding his development as grand master football. I think it might take him a bit longer.

Dropping that 15 lbs and dedicating himself to be a better rusher has really paid off.
