  1. I’m still pissed off at Hurney for not making this happen when Billy B was there. We could have had him for our first and a $25 gift certificate to Applebee’s.
  2. I preface this by saying I am assuming at 8 we don’t take Lance even though he was available. So I mocked a trade back with San Francisco at 12. SF gave up 1st (12) 2022 1st 2nd (43) and 2022 2nd. We gave up 1st (8) and 2022 2nd I know it sounds like a strange combo and a little pricey, but QBs are premium and there’s a few suitors for the last of the top 4. I will say Lawrence and Wilson went 1,2 and Fields went 4 to Atlanta. They’re grabbing their Ryan replacement while they can. I mocked out the rest of the draft fairly taking into account other teams needs and values and here’s what I ended up with. 12- Kyle Pitts - mismatch nightmare. Slater was on the board still and I was really close going between the two, but with some questions about his length, Pitts was too good to pass up. 39 - Jalen Mayfield - I assume we tag Moton and try to move him to LT. If not, a tag and trade with Baltimore for Orlando Brown Jr. and we have our RT of the future. 43 - Wyatt Davis - big, nasty OG immediately upgrades our interior. I wanted Creed Humphrey but he went one pick earlier to the Giants. 44 - TRADE for Richie Grant. We move back into the 2nd. Having already given up our 2nd in the trade with SF, I gave up our 3rd, 6th and SF 2022 2nd to Dallas I didn’t take it further than the first 2 rounds because it’s just too crazy to predict. In the end, we end up giving up our 3rd, 6th and next years 2nd but add 2nds this year and SF’s 1st. I think the quality of the picks is worth it and also gives us an extra 1st to work with next year if we need to move up for a QB. Thoughts?
  3. If by slightest you mean dripping like grease from a Bojangle's bag full of botato rounds then yes... ever so slight.
  4. If I change my name to Wofford can I see any of that scratch?
  5. Also, the Chargers giving up 3 picks to move up 4 spots from 77 to 73 isn't happening either, even though the author says it's 11 spots. I think someone got into the brownies again...
  6. I still wonder how much that video sipping wine and smoking a cigar played into all of this. If I’m looking at this strictly from a management position, seeing my leader, my foreman, lead supervisor, whatever, come out and say he made a conscious decision to deceive leadership and hide vital information crucial to the success of the team from those that needed to know and then make a video for the public to explain it all, I don’t know how you don’t move on from that, especially given his injury situation. As much as I valued an employee, I’d have to let them go for seriously undermining the company. I know this is the NFL and franchise QBs don’t grow on trees, but you have to believe that didn’t sit well. I think that’s why it took so long. It wasn’t an easy decision to make and the consequences serious, but in the end, I believe it played at least somewhat of a role.
  7. New coach though. He has no attachment to Hurts really. He’s going to want to roll with his guy.
  8. Agree that they both won’t be gone but Slater doesn’t quite have the length. He makes it up in footwork, no doubt, and I’m a footwork guy. I just don’t know if he warrants taking at 5 with that. Now if we traded up to 5 and he was there at 8, I could totally understand it. You’ve grabbed a couple extra picks which makes kicking him inside if you have to a little more palatable. If the Jets take Sewell, I see Cincy moving. If not, I think they stay put.
  9. Everything really hinges on the Jets and do they take Wilson. If they go with Sewell, Cincinnati is more likely to trade back since their elite LT is off the board. Sewell and Bechton on the edges with Darnold and no Gase might be interesting. It Darnold does suck, they would be in good position to go after Howell next year.
  10. Good stash indeed. That’s the premium stuff you save for special occasions.
  11. A different perspective maybe. What if last season was “win now” to see which players would respond and which wouldn’t. Can’t really determine that if guys think it’s a rebuilding year. Now he knows who played and who half assed it, and can really start to build his team around the guys he wants to keep as an integral part of the team moving forward.
  12. I love watching linemen drill. You can really tell a lot watching their feet. My wife always looks at me funny when I call it big man ballet but they do have to be fast, agile, and light on their feet.
  13. It's a new coach so there's no ties to Hurts really. New coach, new QB. It's definitely a possibility. WRs are easier to get in later rounds than QBs so if they want one, they'll be some good ones available. The more of these moves get made, the more chaos there could be at the top of the draft.
  14. 2 1sts, Shaq, Dante and 500 lotto scratchers for Watson.
  15. The thing for me is, if they want Burns and Chinn, then that’s it, no picks. Actually landing high performance draft picks is not easy and having them under rookie contract counts for something as well. I know Watson is good and all but his contract also severely limits what you can do as far as adding talent around him. That’s going to require draft picks so we can’t give up good players on rookie deals plus draft picks on rookie deals for at least the next 4-5 years just for a talented QB.
  16. QB is the most important position on the field and you better believe the Eagles are going to be doing their due diligence. Wentz wasn’t the answer. Hurts may not be either. If they think there’s a better option then they may take a QB. It would be ridiculous to think that a new coach has some type of undying loyalty to Hurts just because he was drafted last year. The only thing for certain in this draft is this draft is going to be crazy.
  17. I was 4 rows back from center court the home game following Glen Rice winning MVP at the all star game. I just remember the whole place going absolutely crazy.
  18. Breaking breaking news: WFT signs Pro Bowl DT Short and Hurney immediately places him on IR.
  19. There are some who think he could play in Atlanta into his 40s and the idea of them taking a QB is ludicrous. I’m just suggesting that they might be doing more than the Hurney plan and looking beyond this year.
  20. Doesn't really sound like Ryan is in their 5 year plan. A QB at 4 could happen.
  21. First time in NFL history when more than a dozen teams are looking for the answer at QB too. Just because it hasn't happened before doesn't mean it can't happen now.
  22. If the Dolphins are receiving calls for 3, then people have to accept the possibility all 4 QBs could be gone by 8. If a team does trade up into 3, it's going to be for a QB. TL and Wilson will likely go 1,2, leaving 5 spots with multiple teams looking to trade. Whether the price is right or not remains to be seen, but the possibility is definitely there.
