  1. Somewhere in one of the infinite parallel universes the Panthers are 9 time in a row defending SB Champs. I like to think we're those guys.
  2. Maybe, maybe not. Their OL was atrocious last year. Grabbing an OT at 7 if they can get the Raiders to move up, or another team if it's not to far a fall, might not be a bad idea. Raimman wasn't good last year. They need help at RG. Add a WR or TE depending on who's available, get the offense setup ready, and insert rookie QB. Could be a good way to optimize rookie contract value and get into playoff contention in a hurry.
  3. No matter who we pick, I hope we take the most time possible to get it in. Though I do expect a cutaway right as it's being announced, you know because, Panthers.
  4. Might be time to think about trading for Evans in my FF dynasty leagues. Definitely a buy low candidate now.
  5. Maybe. I think the only catastrophic meltdown would be if it was Levis. AR as a prospect is very intriguing. He obviously doesn't have the experience that CJ or BY have, but he does have the physical tools and his ceiling is higher. That said, it all depends on if he can be developed or not. I'm of the opinion that we take the best prospect and develop him. If that's CJ, BY, or AR, that should be the pick. What they can do now is less important to me than what they can become later.
  6. Nah man. It was all in jest and good fun.
  7. Probably because Ron always finds a way to squeak out a win when it matters the least.
  8. Can't see Ryans letting that culture in the building. Doesn't strike me as that kind of guy. They could roll with Davis Mills and see what happens, but I don't think anyone is beating Tampa to the suck bowl this year.
  9. Could be rolling with Davis Mills and playing for the top pick next year. 4 QBs in the top 10 not looking likely.
  10. The problem for arguing AR at 1 is he needs time to develop and this is a win now league. All 4 of these QBs have some kind of issue. Since that's the case, I'd rather go highest ceiling, but I get why we won't.
  11. I know it's becoming that the franchise QB is the end all be all of success in the NFL and it just isn't true. We all saw what happened to Cam with a bad oline. Plus you need someone to actually catch, and a few guys on defense to actually stop people. If you want above average to elite at any of those other positions you're going to have to make some serious sacrifices in other areas. A little ego check for some of these guys making 50-60m per season might be coming when they get planted into the turf repeatedly because they have an offensive line made up of Byron Bells.
  12. So what you're saying is to feel better we just need to go out and get a Hooker?
  13. Still zero. NFL hated Cam for playing the game the way he did. They wouldn't have let it happen.
  14. There needs to be a QB cap limit just like there was a NFL rookie cap limit. If these contracts don't get under control, there's going to be some pretty hard feelings coming from the other guys who can't get paid because $65m a year isn't enough.
  15. You don't necessarily have your franchise QB. We've seen too many high pick QBs fail. There are no guarantees in the NFL draft when it comes to making the transition from college to the pros.
  16. Because if someone else makes you a ridiculous offer and you're not sold on 1 of the 3 as the best, you can still get a QB and some other pieces and improve the team. Have to at least show some interest in all of them to give yourself the most opportunities if you're not 100%.
  17. I have. But that's because I'm a Wolverine so it's a requirement.
  18. I don't either. Because of that I'd be shooting for the biggest reward. Any of the 3 could be good or none and it wouldn't surprise me either way.
  19. I'm starting to lean more towards AR. While his game may not be there yet and he is young and "raw", his physical gifts and his ceiling are too damn tempting to ignore. He may need to sit a year or partial year and I'm actually ok with that. I know everyone wants to win now, I do too. We have a couple centuries worth of experience in our coaching staff. If this is the Allstar staff we all hope it is, sitting for a season and actually getting adjusted to the NFL game could be very beneficial. We traded up to 1 in a class where the top 3 QBs all have question marks. I want the guy that has the highest ceiling of the group. If we swing and it's a miss, we have our 1st back in 25' to do it again.
  20. So much is going to depend on how players fall out of round 1. If a talent like Flowers, Hyatt or Addison is there at 39, I think you have to get him. We need a WR1/2 type to help our rookie QB that will be here on more than a 1 or 2 year deal. You're right, we do need an edge rusher but I think this is also a deeper class for edge and CB both. Contributing IOL can be gotten in rounds 3-5 more easily than the other positions. Somebody projected in the 20s is going to fall, it happens every year. BPA in any of those 4 key areas would be a good choice. It just feels good to not have that level of desperation that's been here the past several years.
  21. I don't think the signing of Byrd changes much. Shi has been an unreliable receiver and his spot on this team is by no means guaranteed. Byrd also offers skill at the PR/KR position so he could be filling that WR4/5/6 spot with primary focus as a return guy. Either way, we still need a WR1 and if one is sitting there at 39, that could very well be the pick.
  22. It was rumored Houston offered Chicago a future 1st. If we believe the rumor and are concerned about Young’s size, the Panthers could trade back 1 spot, take the 1st and get AR or CJ. IF those concerns are valid and Young gets pancaked early, that first could up as a 1st or 2nd pick. Even if it ended up as a top 5, Harrison Jr would be a nice consolation prize.
