  1. Baker is terrible combined with the splattered shitpile that is Ben McAdoo's genius has created a bubbling festering quagmire of offensive ineptitude.
  2. The 2nd is 2023, the 1st of 2 1sts is 2024, plus his new contract we wouldn't be paying are all before 2.5 years. Better check your math again.
  3. This team needs more than Burns. An extra 2nd this year and 2 more 1sts plus 30m cap available can do a lot to fill the gaps. I want the team to get better. Those picks with a competent GM, new HC and new OC could go a long way in that direction.
  4. We could have gotten to the same spot with Jacob Eason.
  5. If McAdoo is the best we could do for OC, I'd hate to see the guys who weren't good enough to be rock stars.
  6. Turning down the Rams trade just looks worse and worse
  7. His receivers did not help him yesterday with all the drops. He missed some stuff for sure, but I recall several times the ball hit guys in the hands and they just dropped it on critical downs.
  8. Isn't it a bit early to start drinking for tomorrow's game already?
  9. Getting the HC correct is most important. We've all seen how much having a bad coach brings down every aspect of the team, so conversely, the opposite must be true as well. A great QB prospect can be destroyed by the wrong HC or a system built around them that doesn't fit their natural abilities.
  10. I always have about 15 feet of the stuff wrapped around a pencil in every first aid kit along with 2 rolls of HQ electrical tape. Electrical tape makes a pretty fast and effective tourniquet in emergency situations on the job or just as a more flexible and durable bandaid.
  11. Exactly. If XYZ Qb doesn't have the traits necessary to make a successful NFL QB according to your staff and evaluation, take the most impactful player you can or trade back if someone offers you the farm. But that strategy is based on your head guys knowing their poo and well, it's yet to be determined if ours do.
  12. Tepper can only hope so he can use that cash to pay some of his Rock Hill debt.
  13. He was bidding against himself with no leverage. Rhule had already played the hand by getting T2G out the door. The Jets didn't have to trade him. They could have just as easily sat on him. Either we trade for Darnold or.... who else were we going to get? Was it an overpay? Yeah. But as we've all seen, Rhule put everyone in position to look worse, and that included Fitts. The 5th year was fuggin stupid.
  14. Best pick gives you the best opportunity to get it right. You get to choose who you want from the most opportunities instead of choosing leftovers. I'd rather play shoulda, woulda, could having got it wrong but at least having the shot to get it right.
  15. It's so close I don't really try to differentiate much. If he can stay healthy, I think Mahomes will eventually be in the conversation, possibly Allen.
  16. They were willing to give up 2 firsts and a 2nd for a couple of reasons. 1. They need to win now. Staffords elbow is on borrowed time and Donald is contemplating retirement. Kupp is MVP caliber and their best opportunity is now. 2. Burns is talented, but if McVay thinks he is the missing piece for a 3 year championship run, those picks are late 1st vs early 1st and have much different value. If he's wrong and they become top 10 picks, it's a much different scenario and McVay could be moving on. It's a gamble either way. Fitts doesn't have the luxury of gambling right now and that's because of Tepper. He botched this whole GM/coach hiring and firing process. Fitts is under tremendous pressure not to screw up further the already screwed up situation keeping Rhule an extra 5 games caused.
  17. How many times are they going to keep running that play to Shenault?
  18. Shenault's gonna end up with a 1000 yards in this game. In motion anyway.
  19. People can also be very different in their work environment than they are in real life.
  20. If Brian Burns was Julius Peppers, LT, Aaron Donald, I'd say that the offer wasn't enough. He's good. He's Pro Bowl. He's not single handedly wrecking an entire offense. You have to look at the big picture over the next 3 years. A high teens 2nd this year, a likely 10-20 pick, possibly higher, the next 2, $30m per year in cap space to sign other players or a pro bowl DE/LB depending on scheme. I think you have to look beyond Burns and evaluate the best way to build the team moving forward. Fitts should have pulled the trigger.
