Where does the "culture" go from here?
SmokinwithWilly replied to MechaZain's topic in Carolina Panthers
So far, there has been a lot of arrogance and ignorance when it comes to putting this "team" together. Hiring a bunch of college coaches with almost nil experience in the NFL, an offense so basic defenses knew it better than our QB, ridiculous contracts to players that aren't good, piss poor roster decisions, a terrible trade for Darnold without really watching his tape, his 5th year option, going all in for a playoff run and ending up 5-12, the system is working 1000%, announcing to the league he had a rookie all pro LT rated as a guard, insane nepotism towards anyone with a Baylor or Temple connection. Need I continue? -

Al Holcomb promoted to assistant head coach

Well he did say Rhule has to land a dynamic offensive coordinator. Maybe he meant Watson, not McAdoo. -
It does with enough diesel fuel then you burn it all to the ground

The bigger issue with that is IF he came here because it's the only trade package Houston would agree to, would he play his 4 years and leave? We have to be 1000% sure he is going to stay 10 years or there is no point doing this at all. We would be without a franchise QB, zero elite level talent on rookie deals, and beginning the search all over again. It could end up being a very expensive rental if he doesn't see Carolina as a long term fit and rather just someone to take his contract that Houston will agree to as a trading partner.

Signings like this make me wonder what the hell were we doing with Ian Thomas.

By the time this is over, we could have cloned our own Deshaun Watson.

Bills were interested in CMC

RBs just don't hold their value, especially given their durability issues. -
They have up picks for sure, but the thing that worries me most is what kind of contract we would offer Watson immediately. 50-55m a year for 10 years, 300m guaranteed. I don't know that we would, but it wouldn't surprise if we made him the highest paid QB in the NFL.

Easiest way to deal with DW and our offense would be to have long slow drives against a weak defense.

Record isn't everything. Personality matters and Rhule is arrogant about his abilities and puts blame on others when it doesn't belong there. That tends not to sit well with people.
-
Was referring more to Rhules attitude and personality rather than coaching records. His pressers are like nails on a chalk board.
-
A coach that isn't Matt Rhule.

If they're a fan of Lance, it could work. New franchise QB on a rookie deal and a couple pieces or picks to go with. I can see it.
-
Maybe maybe not. Chinn is not a FS, he's a SS. Deep cover is not his game.

I prefer Rhay-Z. 1000%

I'm not sure why Fitts will want to stay as GM if he's given another offer elsewhere. This team is run by Rhule.
-
I'll reserve my praise for Tepper/Fitts/Rhule until the results are in. Landing Watson does not guarantee success. A house can look amazing on the outside and still collapse due to a crumbling foundation.

2019 Draft classes ranked by The Athletic

We just knew Grier was going to be the pick a month before the draft. It was a worse kept secret than Tepper wanting DW -
Panthers sign S Xavier Woods (3 years, 15.75m)

They proved to be straight trash before we signed them. -
Ashton Kutcher is going to hold a press conference and let us know we've been punked and we really fired Matt Rhule.
