Bryce Young - High Ankle Sprain, out minimum 1 week
Pantherxtreme replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
Alot of that improvising is because Bryce won't take what's there in the 1.5 seconds. I think the talent we have at WR are good enough whereas Dalton can make those first reads, now if the Oline pass protection simply falls apart that could be a problem as Dalton is a statue back there. But we'll see this Sunday if the passing attack looks different than what we've been seeing so far this season. -
Panthers have the 3rd leading rusher in NFL

Save the dramatics for the soap operas this is professional sports. When Mile Sanders was the penciled starter I wanted Chuba who was outperforming him to get the bulk of the carries, now the script has been flipped. On any other team who's sole purpose is to win Rico would have already earned the starting role. But on the teams that flounder more times than not it's front office and business decisions trump what's happening on the field. -
Panthers have the 3rd leading rusher in NFL

He came off the bench he should have been in the game from the start, he was coming off a historic 2 game run you ride that momentum and see what happens. That rotating series b.s is just cute it's not how football is played and won. Chuba can spell Rico but why force 50-50 split when the production isnt split? -
Rico Dowdle now has 551 yards that's 3rd in the NFL only behind the Colts Jonathon Taylor 697 yards and Cowboys Javonte Williams 592 yards. His 5.6 yards a carry is higher than any other running back in the top ten in rushing. On the season Dowdle: 5.6 yards a carry Hubbard: 3.7 yards a carry Maybe next game this guy should be in the backfield when the Panthers offense takes the field so we can set the tone early in the running game. It makes no sense for struggling offense as the Panthers to view that type of production as a luxury.

It was 3rd and 8 when Andy sealed the game on the 33 yard pass to Legette and the Jets still had a timeout if they were playing the run either their head coach or you doesnt need to be anywhere on a field coaching a football game. He gave his receiver a chance to make a play and his receiver did, seemed like an accurate pass to me and the results matched it. Agian as I said I would like to see how the offense looks with Andy or any Qb with the group of weapons we have if Byrce is out for awhile. I've seen what he can do, good kid, he's improved alot, but this offense still seems limited.

If Bryce is out I'll like to see what Dalton can do with this offense the last time he was called up he didnt have much to work with. A disgruntled Diontae Johnson and old man Theilen. We have the deepest receiver room we've had in a long time. Some good young TE's. And strong rushing attack with Rico (should be Rb1) and Chuba. Good offensive line depth. Say what you want when Dalton came in the passing game started pushing the ball down the field, not so much with Bryce. Young stats: 15-25 for 138 yards and his two longest pass plays went to Chuba for 26 yards and Rico for 17 yards. Dalton stats: 4-7 for 60 yards he eclipsed almost half of Youngs yardage in just 4 pass completions. We have outside weapons we need to be able to keep defenses honest in order to make this offense work.

I think this decision caused that game to be much closer than it should have. They essentially split carries and Roco had double the production, I think had those Chuba plays gone to Rico we would have had a much better run game and flow on offense. Thankfully the defense stepped up and saved a game the head coach and offense was trying to blow.

This coach with his stupid personnel decision completely messed up the momentum this offense had going on the last two weeks -

On the flipside with him being hesitant to let it go, he gets sacked a ton, which is why the Jets have given up the most sacks on the season with 25. With our pass rush being invisible so far this may be the game they can show some life. -
Ok the corner has been turned. My exile in the fandom wilderness is over, I'm back.

I'll never doubt my football acumen again. Pre draft I stated after warching film of all 3 Qb's CJ looked to be the better prospect. And then I took a hiatus from the board and came back just a few days before the draft and it was all Bryce, Bryce, he was the guaranteed lock to the the Panthers Qb all you heard was the inside sources, super processor blah, blah, blah. And I started doubting what I saw on film, and assuring myself because hey they are the "experts" maybe they're getting it right. They absolutely didn't get it right, and what I saw on film was the truth. Man I was hoping to be wrong, but nope at all.

Foreman as well.
-
They trade or don't want to pay productive players like Foreman, Hassan Reddick,... but then overpay guys like Miles Sanders, give up the mother load for Bryce Young and send another productive player DJ Moore away.
-
Can Sanders get benched already

What would you give up to draft Marvin Harrison Jr.

Who's going to throw him the ball? -
It's official Byrce a turnover machine. Which is crazy because he rarely pushes the ball down the field. It's official I don't like short Qbs anymore.

If that happens I know there must be some inside job to sabbatage the Panthers. -

I remember reading a quote somewhere from Dan Morgan who said they would be more conservative going forward with dealing draft capital. -
Kyle Bailey says Tepper isnt happy, wants changes now.

Houston moreso. They are team who were in need of a Qb who we were trying to leapfrog. We initially were trying to move up to 2nd pick, but the deals fell through so we just went straight for the gusto with Chicago and got hosed. And Houston ended up with the better Qb anyways. -
If we had better qb play we beat Atlanta, Saints, Minnesota. Seattle possibly but the defense and Oline the bed
-
Well to be fair there hasn't been any creativity in the running game its straight up the middle into darkness. Chuba appears to have better vision and hitting the seems harder, but our schemes are lacking. This team was running down people's throat late last season after being pedestrian under Rhule and now it's back to worse than pedestrian, so that goes to coaching.

I think that trade was more if a solid to McCaffrey seeing as we weren't winning than to make the Panthers better. Plus we had our eyes on the Watson sweepstakes so I think they were trying to clear cap space in the hopes of being able to sign him to a long term deal.

Weak division is true. Atlanta right now is trying to scramble and see what they're going to do at Qb. Derek Carr is hurt and NO is on a 2 game skid. Ironically the Qb we ran out of town Baker Mayfield and the team left for dead after Brady departure the Bucs are leading the division again. Going into the season Bowles was supposedly on the hot seat.
