What we need to see from Bryce and the offensive philosophy
Pantherxtreme replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
I agree if you going to go down, go down swinging like the Colts did with Manning. Like we did with Newton. This timidness is what produces Sam Donald's of the NFL not perennial probowlers -

He's been better are on par with Beason who was highly overrated by this fan base. -
Give me a reason to be excited about the future of this team

It's bogus. We finished with a better record than Saints and Falcons last season. The division came down to us and Tampa. We leap frogged the Falcons and Saints to get the #1 overall draft pick, players of that caliper are meant to be franchise changing Cam Newton, Julius Peppers good. Not saying Byrce can't become that but how did we become worse and in rebuilding mode, but the Saints and Falcons with less draft capital seemingly got better in one off-season. I don't want to hear anything about coaching continuity should have kept Wilks then. -

Hill was making plays all over the field, once he came in, just like he was doing in preseason. Even sacked Carr on a crucial 3rd and 2 play. -
This is what's concerning to me, he's going to have to be the reincarnate of Drew Brees for this to work. Kyle Murray is small but you better not let him hit that corner or he's gone. He's going to need to be able to dictate to defenses presnap to make up for his physical limitations and right now the defenses are dictating to him.

Derrick Brown going after Mike Thomas after the game

Luvu exist and many others on the defensive side of the ball. -
We've faced Atlanta who had the #3 rushing attack last season and have gotten even better. Bijan ran for a 170 plus yards against Green Bay alone. Tyson Hill I don't care what anyone says is Cam-lite in those short yardage situations with his ability to pass and size when he gets moving. If we could sustain some drives and not allow teams to just pound on us for 4th quarters and actually put pressure on them to score some points, our defense and pash rush would look even better.

I'm afraid the Panthers front office has the same football acumen as some of the posters. Rhule sure did, getting rid of Bridgewater after the one season, the only reason were even competitive that season and he and his offensive guru Brady were being crowed about. To becoming a laughing stock onward. If we get rid of Burns now after saying no to the Rams trade and sending Moore to Chicago just turn the GM position over to AI see what it can do.

Yea I didn't understand the lack of Hubbard this week. He was in mostly on 3rd downs and obviously passing plays, the great receiver that he is. Exciting to see if Cohen is back. Definitely will be an adding boost to this offense.
-
The defense is fun to watch. They get after it, kind of get worn down in the 4th quarter due to the offense ineptness but Evero has that side of the ball humming.
-
I agree it was pretty much a more expensive lateral move by ditching Foreman. But the Panthers ran the ball well last week. This week was a different story and may continue to trend that way of defense coordinators start crowding the box and daring the Panthers to beat them on the outside which we haven't shown we can do yet.

A one handed catch, great concentration, but many a receivers have made similar catches. https://youtube.com/shorts/Tvrvyxyopcs?si=Vo27g-CrQ4l6ps4F

Yes I do. But first the Qb has to make the throws. I don't think we have the best tandems of receivers in the league, but it's not the worst either. I'm on the record as saying I think it's more of the playcalling than it is Byrce. 150 yards passing a game so far is not cutting it, that's Sam Donald territory atleast with him we only gave up a 2nd and 4th rd pick for him We traded a 1st rd pick and DJ Moore essentially 2 first round picks if you count where Moore was drafted and his talent level. People clowning the Giants when our offense hasn't looked much better.

This guy knows his football

Not really the play where we finally threw it to Chark was an overthrow but we ended up getting a pass interference call anyway. I was happy that he finally let it loose.
-
No the defense would actually have to catch the ball and get it nullified by a flag if you want to be accurate in your comparison.
-
I forget we got saved by a penalty or it would have been 4 turnovers.
-
Look at the schedule… who we beating?!?
Pantherxtreme replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
We got the defense to beat any of them. The offense is a whole other question. -
Sometimes you just have to throw receivers open and give them a chance to make a play. Olave wasn't open on that play when he made that acrobatic catch, but Carr threw it up and gave him a chance. That's what I'm looking to see.
-
Well sit Mingo down then and give Shenault or the kid we got from KC a chance. Throwing for 150 yards a game aint cutting it.
-
DJ Chark is a former probowl receiver, Theilen is old but a vet route runner. These guys didn't just forget how to play. Maybe it's the play design but something is not clicking.
-
4 turnovers. 2 picks vs Atlanta 2 sack fumbles vs Saints. Gotta clean that up our margin of error is already small. Multiple turnovers a game and we have no chance.

Cam rookie campaign was something to write home about. But that's neither here or there. I think Byrce Young is going to be a good Qb, I wish it was sooner than later because we have a defense and division that we can contend with now. Maybe that's not fair, but the boneheaded moves this franchise has made the past few seasons is frustrating. He's a rookie but him and the coaching staff has to show something on tape as to why we pulled the trigger, the other young guns like Stroud and Richardson despite his injuries are starting to assert themselves in this league in just a few games.
