Smitty on the 2024 WR Draft Class (w/cliffnotes)
ECHornet replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
That was Smitty’s comp, not mine. DK is one of the biggest athletic freaks to ever play WR, so having someone who’s “close” athletically is still impressive. Legette is closer to AJ Brown athletically, imo. Here’s a comparison of those players at the nfl combine and Legette from the senior bowl: DK / AJ Brown / Legette Height: 6’3 / 6’0 / 6’1 Weight: 228 / 226 / 223 Fastest game speed (mph): 22.6 / 22.1? / 22.3 Arm Length: 34&7/8 ; 32&7/8 ; 31&5/8 Hand size: 9&7/8 ; 9&3/4 ; 8&7/8 -

I disagree with him on Worthy being a body catcher. He shows elite hands catching in his highlights. He pairs that with an ability to make something out of nothing and he’s a great returner. I like him with our 2nd rounder. He does comp him as a taller Tank Dell so I’d take that all day. (The very first clip in the video below shows one of the toughest hands catches WR face in football) Then he mentions Legette as a “better” DK Metcalf. It’s not going to happen, but if Legette slips to the 3rd like some mocks are pushing, adding both Xaviers to our WR core would completely flip that room for us. -
I know nothing about Cam Hart, but that was a best DB available pick.
-
I’d love to get him, but his injury history scares me enough that the 1st pick in 3rd round may be too steep.
-
I view Tez as an upgraded version of Dyami Brown. A little bit bigger and faster, but I like him in the 4th. I’m not sure he likes contact enough to be drafted before then.
-
#33 - trade back and draft a WR (Worthy, Legette, Mitchell) ; acquire additional picks. 3rd - Cedric Gray or Jeremiah Trotter. Gray may already be gone.

Link?

Pretty sure there are far more fans that have written Bryce off.
-
Agreed, but I don’t think the Broncos can get much for Jeudy either.
-
I’d trade TMJ for Jeudy. Not Horn.

Detroit is very lucky in this scenario. That would be like Evero leading a top 3ish Panthers defense next year and saying “no thanks” when teams want him as head coach.
-
might save you embarrassment at a party or something if you’re going to attempt that saying
-
That’s not how I’ve heard that saying used referring to athletes.

At minimum, a few 2023 Bucs assistant coaches disagree. Why hitch their wagon to Canales instead of staying in Tampa?
-
Tough ask for the OL to increase their hold up time by 2 secs in one offseason.
-
That’s probably Xavier Worthy
-
I can’t see them letting Allen go. Now Mike Williams or Josh Palmer could be up for grabs.

Looks plenty fast on film to me in the first clip of this video:

I’m not buying Legette getting past round 2. He’s a monster and would bring us what DJ Moore did most seasons. His route running looks just fine below. https://twitter.com/mjhurleytdt/status/1752765044096446770?s=46&t=iUe8E7P_bH33jIZRf7fRSQ

I liked TE Ben Sinnott from last year. Didn’t get to see him this year and will have to look for highlights, but wouldn’t mind him drafting him in the middle rounds. Edit: Just watched his 2023 highlights. He’s not as athletic as Laporta/Kincaid, but he is a reliable target and smart at finding holes in the defense. I’d start looking for him around late 4th.

He’s what we hoped Mingo would be.
