  1. 100%, there’s not a better atmosphere than playoff hockey in Raleigh… the tailgating, the festivities, the hype, it’s like a college football game. The only sporting event that has rivaled a Canes playoff game for me was the Panthers/Patriots MNF game where Ted Ginn had the walk off TD. I encourage everyone to go to a Canes playoff game at least once.
  2. Lots of MLS experience and a pretty solid goal threat.
  3. So I love those classy experiences and what not and they are fun but I also love the experiences of going to a grunge bar and having a drink and listening to the bartender tell me all the poo he’s seen. Just got back from Miami last week and decided to go to Mac’s Club Deuce because it was one of Bourdain’s favorite spots. Sat there and drank a Presidente, played some pool, and listened to some of the cool stories the bar tender had. That same trip I went to The Surf Club (one of Thomas Keller’s restaurants) and ordered so much food that I was a tad frightened when my bill came out. I guess my point is that there are experiences all over the world from all different types of places, I don’t know why you’d limit yourself by putting yourself in a box where you can’t experience all different walks of life. End Ted Talk
  4. So don’t expect Wayne to pound the drum on Sunday’s? Also… $30,000 for a HS education… better have came with a personal ass wiper when they went to the bathroom.
  5. Glad he’s not with Atlanta or New Orleans. I was texting a friend and told him they better not make me hate this kid.
  6. 100%, I’ll never be in a position to make that kind of money but knowing that you’ve gone from potentially being set for life to now wondering what comes next if your career doesn’t pan out could cause all sorts of emotions.
  7. I get it wanting to go with the vet in Raanta because he’s the vet… I understand from that point of view. However… Koochie hasn’t lost a game, just won you the division in MSG, and his lack of English and his youthfulness probably makes it difficult for him to realize the magnitude of the situation being that this is Carolina/Boston part 3. I’d go with Koochie because I think he’ll just be able to go out there and play freely.
  8. That was brutal… I’m like damn I probably wouldn’t have even shown that. Kids say they don’t care where they go but when there is millions on the line we know that’s just guys being modest.
  9. As previously mentioned, Barnes used to be a WR before converting to CB. Someone here mentioned before that sometimes that’s an indication of poor hands (not always but sometimes)… that could be a reason why he doesn’t return kicks or punts. He was already a gunner so I’d say that it’s more likely that will be where he earns his keep and the Panthers will continue to search for kick returner/punt returner.
  10. So I watched NFLN, did you happen to watch ESPN? I was curious about the coverage of the slide. NFLN seemed to be very professional, they didn’t mention whether he came back for the second day, didn’t do any interviews with him, or pan to him in the green room. It wasn’t like the Aaron Rodgers debacle where every five seconds the camera was on him. I’m just curious how ESPN/ABC handled it.
  11. Well yeah we don’t want to give him herpes or something… what happens in dirty myrtle stays at dirty myrtle.
  12. Media deserves a lot of blame but it really picked up when all 32 teams had at least one rep at his pro day. Personally I think that’s when the train started to leave the station. He was the only QB to have a representative from all 32 teams at his pro day (to my knowledge) and while Rhule and Tomlin were the only HC’s, that much personnel representation is on par with a first round draft pick. A lot of it probably had to do with who Liberty is… small school, young program, etc… so let’s send some guys there to just check it out. But yeah, it was a mess all the way around.
  13. fuging phenomenal interview, it’s a shame we don’t have another option at LB (besides Mora - who I also am not a fan of). Fuchs in his older age needs to slide inside. He’s been great at CB when we play a back three.
  14. Buy Colbert a beach house somewhere and just ask him to come on as an advisor.
  15. Same reason he makes Malik… they either kicked his dog… or they listen to too much hippity hoppity music.
  16. Personally, I think Dak was. Dak has said multiple times that the reason he had immediate success was because of the pro style offense that Mississippi State ran. https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/mississippi-state-football/dak-prescott-offense-ran-mississippi-state-nothing-short-nfl-offense/amp/ Wilson probably wasn’t ready but when you have an extra weapon in your arsenal (true dual threat QB) then it makes life easier.
  17. Fun fact… all came from pro style offenses (for the most part, Burrow ran a lot of spread)… all top three picks… not even REMOTELY the same… use someone who actually came from a collegesque offense… say like Mahomes… oh that’s right, he sat.
  18. You don’t get better by setting people up for failure. That’s like you getting a job as an engineer and then your boss saying good luck when you have no experience. You are going to suck ass it for a bit and because you suck ass it might get you fired… if he would have given you proper training then maybe you’d have had a snowballs chance in hell at being successful.
  19. Lol just no… How is not remotely close? You throw a guy out there who hasn’t run a pro style offense in his entire football career week one and you expect success… want to buy my beach house in Kansas? This is how you ruin a kids career. Playing him way before he is ready because YOU don’t want the Panthers to suck this year. Thankfully cooler heads will prevail and Darnold will more than likely be the starter on week one. We also have a scouting department for a reason. I’ll also mention that it doesn’t matter who is picking #1 next year… the Chiefs could be picking number one and they are still taking Young or Stroud simply for the trade piece. If we are in position to draft one of those guys then we will… and if we like Armstrong or Van Dyke then we might draft one of those guys as well… regardless of Corral.
  20. I’d offer Shi a pot brownie for every KR/PR that he takes to the crib this year.
  21. If you throw Corral out there day one then you are doing exactly what the Jets did to Darnold minus the inept OL play. Darnold may be who he is but QB’s are much more likely to be successful with time than they are if you just throw them to the fire. Aaron Rodgers sat, Pat Mahomes sat, Josh Allen sat a bit… it’s almost like people want to see Corral fail. If you think that a kid who has never ran a pro style offense can come into the NFL with grown ass men and learn a completely new offense with new concepts and new verbiage and be ready to start week one then we have nothing to talk about because we won’t ever agree. You guys want Corral to be the savior from day one… that ain’t gonna happen.
  22. Personally, I think more time needs to be given to him. He can learn a lot from just watching what Darnold does wrong on film (as shitty as that sounds). I think if you throw him out there early you run the risk of ruining him which is what the Dolphins did with Tua. Tua started week 6 of 2020 and at that point the Dolphins weren’t running RPO as heavy as they are now. Fast forward to 2021 and the Dolphins scrapped a lot of their pro style concepts that they were running with Fitzpatrick (presumably because Tua is having processing and accuracy issues - and their run game is ass). In 2021, there were games where 80% of his completed passes were coming from RPO plays (essentially dink and dunks)… and it’s not like the Dolphins we’re winning games because of him… it was more or less just asking him not to lose the game… think Trent Dilfer and the Ravens. Develop Corral properly and see what he’s got when he’s ready. If you don’t feel that he’s ready then don’t play him. There’s no shame in riding out Darnold to Bryce Young or C.J. Stroud and a new coaching staff. People get so caught up in the “we wasted a third round pick”… no we didn’t waste a third round pick, we aren’t in a position to win a Super Bowl right now and sometimes it takes more than one dart to hit the bullseye when searching for a franchise QB.
  23. That has a lot to do with the offense that Kiffin runs which is concerning. If you give him one read and it isn’t there and he’s being blitzed then he’s got to take the sack, throw it in the dirt, or try and force the ball in there. For me it all comes back to the offense that he was a part of. But you could say that about nearly all the top QB’s in this draft except Pickett. Pickett is the only one that has a strong familiarity with a pro style offense but he also may not have the tools that someone like Willis or Corral has. But yeah… Willis came from a simplified offense that is built on a foundation of overloading the defensive personnel and making the defense make a choice, Corral came from a spread that used way too much RPO for my liking, Howell was never under center, and Strong came from an air raid and the only QB’s who seem to do well in the NFL from an air raid are mobile (Mahomes and Murray come to mind). Not Corral’s or any of these QB’s faults that their coaches run odd offenses. It’s more about do they do enough things right where you think that you can coach them up. The Panthers think that Corral does enough right and that he’s smart enough to learn a pro style offense so we’ll see what happens. But this is also why I don’t start him day one. I honestly think he’ll gain a ton of experience just watching what Darnold does wrong on tape (and I hate to say that because Darnold is a nice kid).
