Factor in parking and travel expenses as well (for those that live in Raleigh, Asheville, Greensboro, Wilmington, etc.). A Panthers game suddenly turns into a financial burden rather than a fun day with the way they are performing. I can watch them get murdered perfectly fine from my couch while eating Christmas leftovers.

At 24, it’s unlikely his “problem between the ears” is going to fixed. Practice and repetition will only do so much, it’s a different animal when you have to go full speed and your thinking window goes from 8 seconds to 3 seconds. Not to mention, trying to fix Sam “between the ears” should have been done in college, not when he’s playing against the best football players in the world. Sometimes, guys just don’t have it… and that’s okay.

He’s a college coach so there is bound to be some favoritism in the way that he handles the team. College football is essentially a lot of politics and donor opinions, mixed in with some over recruiting and favoritism, sprinkled with a dash of coaching. There’s a reason why there isn’t much parity in college football, there are very few coaches that know exactly what it takes to lead a team from the towel boy all the way to the star QB.

I for one will still watch even if Rhule is the coach but I’d be lying if I didn’t say that my monetary and time investment would be much more than it is currently if he was shown the door. Tepper’s unwillingness to admit that he made a mistake is similar in fashion to a captain going down with his ship after making a fatal error… I worry that our situation gets worse before it gets better.

On the contrary… I’ve urged that since the beginning you can be a fan whether you spend absolutely nothing or 10k a year on the Panthers… but those that spend nothing have absolutely no right to tell the PSL owners what they should and shouldn’t do. This went off the rails when the OP’s family was declared to be “fake fans” by Tepper’s minions because they decided that $8K a year and 6-8 hours a day on Sunday at BofA is too much of a commitment for them. Unless someone else has the exact situation as them then they need to shut the hell up and realize that the OP’s family can still be fans whether they sell their PSL’s or not. This is more or less about the few in here telling the OP how his family should and shouldn’t spend their money or what they should and shouldn’t do with their PSL’s. Every true fan will do what they can to support this team and that’s with or without a monetary commitment. All I suggest is that those throwing rocks take their Gen Z goggles off for a second and realize that telling someone that they aren’t a ‘true fan’ because they don’t want to shelve out a huge stack of cash on the Panthers is idiotic. We’re all fans here and the OP’s family doesn’t suddenly become a bad fan because he no longer wants to invest heavily into the team from a financial perspective until said team provides him with a return on investment.

Hopefully this decision is in response to a conversation that Tepper and Rhule had where Dave demanded actual physical and visual improvement and Matt decided that if he dies, he wants to die on Sam Darnold’s hill.

I understand what you are saying but I disagree with your overall point. If a fan of an opposing team wants to see their team play in BofA they are going to regardless of if the ticket is bought from the Panthers or a third party and that’s also regardless of if the ticket is bought from the OP or some other individual. Additionally, maybe the complaining Panther fans should step up and buy more of the resell tickets to keep them out of opposing teams fans hands. Poo happens and people aren’t going to be able to go to every single game. It goes both ways… hopefully those with your mindset can now understand how silly it is to tell someone else what they should and shouldn’t do with their time and money. If you want to go after the corporate companies in New York City who buy PSL’s and give them to customers then I’ll stand right there and bang that drum with you. But to give the OP poo because his family can’t spend 6-8 hours along with hundreds of dollars every week for a product that doesn’t deserve that investment is ludicrous.

Otherwise, use a little common sense and understand that the PSL owners and season ticket holders have a little more invested in the team than you and they can still be fans even if they decide not to spend $8K a year on the Panthers…

And the OP’s family has paid tenfold what you are paying and they’ve made the conscientious decision that they aren’t going to do it anymore. I pray that you aren’t suggesting that the OP’S family should have to pay more money to watch the poo show that is the Panthers because they have more money. Is this the same Sunday Ticket that Direct TV will give to customers for free if they threaten to leave to go to a different cable provider? Agreed, I’ll watch when time permits and continue to follow but I don’t plan on investing monetarily into the team until the product is better… that’s just common sense to me, and I completely understand why the season ticket holders and PSL owners are starting to take a step back from their financial commitments. Apparently, there are a few people in here that think a certain group of individuals should be responsible for the monetary investments into the team… looks like the OP’s family was selected as one of the responsible parties.

It’s definitely a pretty interesting hill to die on. Game days make up about 40% of the total revenue for the NFL (the NFL is a revenue sharing league); God forbid the individuals that have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on this team want to cut into Tepper’s bottom line since he’s selling them chicken poo at chicken salad prices.

Without the PSL owners, “we” wouldn’t have a team. They’ve invested their money into the team which in turn makes them more valuable to the Panthers than the regular Joe’s that post on this board. Maybe everyone on this board is now from the generation of Tiktok, but the last time I checked, economics is still a thing and nothing hurts the bottom line more than the PSL owners getting fed up with the product that is being shoved in their face. Like I said, it’s easy to throw rocks from your glass house when your investment consists of a few Panther hats and 3 hours on your La-Z-Boy on Sunday afternoon compared to that of season ticket holders and PSL owners. I’ll note that I don’t have PSL’s or season tickets, I live out of state and make it back to Charlotte for one game a year but I certainly empathize with the financial burden that season ticket holders and and PSL owners are experiencing… let’s not forget we are still in the middle of a pandemic. Football, shitty football at that, doesn’t seem to quite move the needle right now.

Agree 100%. All the people talking poo are the ones that sit in their moms’ basement watching the game on the tube tv while refreshing the huddle webpage every 10 seconds so they can post about how they are watching which ultimately means they are a “true fan”. Spending your Sunday and your hard earned money on a poo product whether it’s a football game, movie, shopping trip, etc. doesn’t make you a good fan or a cool person... it makes you a fugging idiot. Props to the OP’s family for realizing that there are more important things in life than the shitty product that David Tepper is trying to sell right now. From the other end of the spectrum, what if the Panthers are falsifying the injury report in a way that provides them with a leg up on the competition. I.E. they list Gilmore as questionable throughout the entire week and then he plays on Sunday… but knowing that Gilmore was questionable coming in, the Bucs try to target him and see how “healthy”’ he is… when in reality, Gilmore is perfectly fine. I’d imagine that you can’t do that.

The Franco loan became official. For those that aren’t aware, the MLS encourages teams that complete loan deals to make sure that there is an ‘option to buy’ clause in the loan. If Franco plays well, I suspect that this will be a permanent move for him.

UNC will beat teams that are inferior and continue to lose to teams that can match up with them physically. Hubert neglected to find a true PG in the transfer portal and it’s showing (even in games that they are blowing teams out). Think it depends on who is paying for the stadium, the MLS has already stated that they don’t like their teams playing in NFL stadiums so I actually don’t think it’s that farfetched.
