Icky/Corral. Watson gave Rhule the clearest path to disguise his deficiencies rather than skipping town/getting fired or improving. His foot is still against the fire, we got a young QB to give a go, and a franchise LT.

Ditto to Xavier Woods being an important signing. I really like that we brought him in on a multi-year deal. We've secured some time now with Horn, Jackson, Chinn, Woods, Henderson, & Taylor all in the secondary. That's a crew. I think there's 3 huuge pieces to bring in regardless of Corral working out or not: -A playmaker WR (or) TE I look around the league and what makes me more jealous than not having the Burrows of the world is just that. The Kupp, Diggs Chase, Kittle, Kelce type that really elevates the offense. DJ is great but we need a true outside X to compliment him or a TE that's a fixture a la Kittle/Kelce/Gronk. It's a league driven by offense. We've done a lot of work to the line, this is critical and the next step. -A difference maker DL Burns is a solid piece and will be even more so if he becomes a better run blocker (this year will tell us if he can make that leap). BUT we absolutely need a 3-down, multi-tech lineman that can push an OL immediately in the other direction without us blitzing. I feel we haven't had that since ~2014 CJ/GH's prime. -A smart & quick MLB It doesn't need to be Keuchly, but you know, if they can clone him and accelerate the aging process that's cool too.

Didn’t realize Levis will be 24 before he plays in the NFL. And we thought Pickett was old (relatively speaking lol). Him and Haener seem promising, but their age could deter some people. Van Dyke & McCall (maybe Richardson) will be highly watched. Not high on McKay, Jurkovic, Slovis or Rattler Wash State’s Cam Ward (A second Cam Ward in the Carolinas) coming in hot from TX private college who dominated could absolutely blow up. All the tools. A bit slow footed in the pocket but really interested to see how he does. 6’3 220, tight throwing motion, athletic, first year against the big boys. That’s the dude who could come out of nowhere.

The real question marks were Atlanta, New Orleans, & Seattle passing on them after all 3 orgs are coming off the situation of having a guy in place for a decade (Ryan, Brees & Wilson) and had the opportunity to take whoever they wanted a few times. But word from Seattle is that they like Lock (Cough *Stroud) Stepping back... New Orleans traded up for Olave so they must think super highly of him. And then drafted both Trevor Penning #19 and Alontae Taylor at #49 over these guys. The Alontae Taylor pick tells me the Saints did not have the QBs rated as 1sts. Maybe just Pickett and at best, they maybe had Taylor as a Late-1, High 2nd and the QBs were more 2nd round ratings, not worth the gamble of passing on Taylor. It also means SEA had Mafe EDGE #40 and Walker RB #41 slotted higher on their internal boards. Now were they in their first-round block? or high second? Being selected in the high second tells me they could have very well had 1st grades. Atlanta traded UP to take Ebeketie at 38, above the QBs. Being a high second rounder, trade up, and consensus rankings (for what they're worth), I think he was clearly a 1st rounder on their boards. High enough, they felt okay waiting to see who would be at their next pick with only Pickett gone. My gut says some teams that didn't need a QB may have had Malik, Corral, and/or Ridder as late-1sts. Most probably had them as high to mid second rounders.

He actually likes the Panthers and his family has had season tickets in the 500s behind the west endzone for some time. He quietly went to a ton of games with his grandson very lowkey in 553 in the 2000s and 2010s up until he became more of a fixture at ESPN and moved more permanently out of the area.

I just wish we had someone more exciting than Robbie next to DJ. Really home TMJ gets it going this year. Would hate for another R2 receiver to bust. He was so good in college, looked great in preseason and then poof. It's a mystery.

To give Matt credit, this year was the first of his Baylor recruits to hit the big leagues and there were a handful of good ones drafted high. He at least develops guys from HS to high draftable college level. Pitre, Bernard, Woods, and Thornton were all really solid talents. Woods is going to be good for LAC.

Trevor and Fields had been hyped since they were in high school and were finally making the leap so everyone had been eyeing them since like, forever. Ready to see their final seasons and go 1-2. And Lance was known as the small school kid to keep tabs on. There were a few prominent early hype train that went nowhere--Jamie Newman & Kellen Mond. No one had their eyes on Mac Jones.

I agree with Brown. He's got a ways to go, truly a developmental OL at this point unless we really need to throw him out there. He should have been checked out at the end of last season, but there's clearly a reason he wasn't to the level at which we tested Brady C. Mays seems way more ready and has his weight in check. And being a 5-star, UGA starter that transferred to be close to home, and opted for the NFL to make money sooner, seems like he's really trying to do something and get a great career under him. I'm actually pretty excited about him. 6'5 312, 34 arms, 10 hands, big big man. Meets the size reqs you want to see.

Howell, Rattler, Corral, Willis, Strong, hell, even Slovis and Purdy were all talked up. It truly is amazing how it evolves within the span of one college football season. Right now, the train is Stroud, Young, Levis, Richardson, McCall, Van Dyke (and likely a few more like Haener, Jurk, etc.) Richardson could return to school, Levis and McCall are ones that could bloom up or fizzle, Haener & Young are smaller. Stroud is an OSU at the end of the day. I can see it quickly changing; hell maybe at the end of the year, Van Dyke and Levis are the obvious 1A and 1B and Stroud decides to start a Christmas tree farm in Ohio. I'd rather get hyped for Corral and see what he's got because college football is going to be a roller coaster with this QB market.

Yeah the depth swing lineman is huge. And honestly, that may also be what Brady C could thrive at if LG doesn't stick this year as a long term solution with him. Brady, Cade, & Deonte seem like totally viable depth guys that have the chance to develop into starters (Brady C sooner than late). Also, having both Bozeman with Elf as emergency C helps not needing to bring that random Temple guy back on the field. LT: Ekwonu (Brady, Erving) LG: Brady (Elf, Mays) Center: Bozeman (Elf) RG: Corbett (Deonte, Mays) RT: Moton (Erving) Think we'll need to target another OL next year to develop as we phase Elf and Erving off the team but it's shaping up for us to actually be ahead of the curve and not trying to fill starting spots with lackluster talent anymore.

We'll see him at a point this coming season and they'll know if a QB is still needed. I will gladly continue to pan this staff as long as they're here, but one thing they're not is afraid to keep trying at QB and quickly move on from what doesn't work. I wouldn't be concerned this is preventing us from landing a top 23'. But let's see how it shakes out first. There's potential to see through.

One guy was in an air-raid pass heavy Holgorson offense with padded stats and weird diamond formations and plays designed to open guys up downfield. The other being in an RPO needing to be quick on the feet, quick developing plays and needing the mobility to run around. Corral ran for 1,000 more yards than Grier in school, bigger arm, footwork and pocket feel is far and away better. Entirely different players, college offenses, and Grier did nothing on the level of what Corral did in the Arkansas game. Never. It seems we're just blanketly trying to compare guys that fall to the 3rd round. BUT doesn't mean he is some 1st rounder we got in the 3rd, he has his negatives and why we got him at 94 no doubt. Corral has issues with his deep ball accuracy and against man-defense, but you're coming at his perceived strengths saying they're not there, well, because as you admit, you just don't see the quick release people reference. It's hard to really argue that--this just seems contrarian for the sake of being contrarian to dampen the expected overhype train that will no doubt come.

I really haven't seen where anyone is christening Corral our franchise QB. You're countering very limited overreactions to him being selected. Most of what I see are people hopeful given his traits but aware of his weaknesses, not banking on him being franchise saving. I think we'd all love to see Stroud, Levis, Young, Richardson, etc. come next year if he doesn't jump out enough.

That’s true—it’s also what McAdoo was known for that he was bringing from GB back in the day. Reread a few Giants articles when they brought him in before becoming HC. We definitely brought in an interesting dude. Depending on what new shades he’s added to his offense, it may be nice to have a consistently faster paced offense and not just one that only forces itself into no huddle situations.
