  1. Maybe it was just me, but with a QB as bad as Plummer starting while resting the whole starting offense, I can’t say I was surprised one bit.
  2. Until Bryce shows me something this season is all about QB for me.
  3. I agree. We will be a pretty bad team with our starters this year, so obviously our backups will look bad. Plummer is a practice squad QB at best etc. Yes it was brutal, but that was expected. I don’t know why this was a surprise to anyone.
  4. Agree, I think defense looked good. No offense in the league would look good with Plummer at QB, he is awful. So overall in line with expectations
  5. Just curious, what in this game gives you that feeling?
  6. I would think so, Plummer is as terrible as expected.
  7. I agree, and the plays seem to get out there on time, so a good start for Canales.
  8. I think 0% said they wouldn’t watch the game, people just said they’d enjoyed the Olympics this year. Both can be true
  9. It is always fun to watch a couple of players. How is DJ doing after looking good at camp? Will he or someone else show some life at our OLB spots? Mingo could have turned the corner at WR. What about the o-line. And as mentioned above, how will Canales do in a live game situation.
  10. The prime time show is really well done, best in a long time. I’ve enjoyed it, no doubt.
  11. This is sadly 100% true. Well stated
  12. This is a struggle. You don’t have to do it often, but you have to at a minimum make the defense account for it to make them cover the whole field.
  13. He needs to play enough games to be able to make a decision for next year. If he looks great and play all games, that would be surprising but awesome. If he looks bad, he needs enough games to make it an easy decision to draft a new QB next year. There can be no situation where we say “we need to see more of him…”. That would be absolute worst case.
  14. I fully agree on the o-line, and overall I’m optimistic long term. We are building an offense to give strong support to a QB. Oline, RB (Brooks as starter, Chuba as rb2), WR (Dionte is a very good starter) and TE. At QB, it will most likely not be Bryce (I hope I’m wrong), but we are setting our current or future QB up for success, and that is my reason for optimism even though this year might be a bit rough with Bryce at the helm.
  15. So everyone but himself said he had a good day. He holds himself to a very high standard and expects more from himself. And now that is a bad thing? Am I missing something?
  16. I hope I’m wrong and that he has a spectacular year. That would be something. The analysis is based on the biggest difference between Bryce optimists and pessimists. The optimist “saw a lot of flashes of greatness”, while the pessimist did not. I certainly didn’t see the level or amount of flashes needed to be an upper level starting QB in this league. But again, hopefully I’m completely wrong.
  17. I’ve seen just a few highlights so far, but he is showing a lot of energy and fearlessness, don’t forget he’s only 18. Exciting stuff!
  18. Summer league games don’t count for much, but it sure is nice to see us wanting to win and playing with urgency vs. getting clobbered every summer.
  19. To me it felt sarcastic when he said two firsts. He knew there was no chance, especially with the contract Burns would command. But obviously we should have sent on if the huddles many master negotiators, that would have guaranteed 10-15 first rounders.
  20. I hope we have an improved pass rush, but time will tell. One thing I feel really good about is our run defense. Massive upgrade compared to last year. Clowney vs. Burns in the run game isn’t even a competition.
  21. I’m happy for Lebron and his son, how awesome is that, being able to play together, dad and son? There should be 0 negatives about this. But I don’t care about it as in sports coverage. And this is the exact reason why I never watch anything but live games (and the draft). The focus on a few individuals or certain “star sportscasters” has diminished most of the value of sportscenter etc. for me.
  22. I also thinks he deserves the season. I don’t think he has it in him to become a starting caliber QB in the NFL, but we need to let it play out. The one thing I do disagree with you on is his deep ball, it was not good in college, and stats back that up. I think we built this team (new Gs etc.) for a young QB, but I don’t necessarily think the team is convinced that is Bryce. If he plays as expected this year we will draft a new QB in 2025, and that QB will come in to a very good situation.
  23. After reading a bit more about Tidjane, youngest player in the draft at 18, with a lot of potential. Seems like a prudent gamble in this draft. We are not looking to win a lot next year, our core is super young, so I like it. I also don’t care if we couldn’t develop talent in the past. Brand new coaching staff. They might not be able to, but at this point we really don’t know. So I’m good with this draft.
  24. Who did you want at this pick? I don’t know much about him, but I don’t really know of any players at this point.
