I think they would watch the board, and if one of the top 5 falls to mid/end of the second round they'll try to get there. Not with a first, but I wouldn't say next year's 2nd or 3rd are off the table.

I stand beside what I've said. Draft a QB, whether at 6 or trade down, there value is so much higher than any position. Joe Thomas, one of the best left tackles in NFL history, helped the browns win two games a year, because they never had a QB, the year they got Baker, it rose exponentially, and that he was only average. Get your QB, then get your tackle.

I mean Baker is going to be cheap, heck maybe cheaper then Minshee after all is said is done.

I bet about 31 of these GMs would have jumped to draft Watson, Jackson, Mahomes, Rodgers, Prescott, Wilson, etc. At 6. Point is who cares where you get them, you hit and your franchise is changed. No other position does that.

I think in the trade for a vet QB scenario, I would still go for Baker, he has been mostly good, outside of an injury riddled year last year and could elevate this team. I'd go that route, especially if the browns are forced to eat his salary.

What would be the expected price for either? Reasonable, or are we giving away another ton of draft capital?

I live in Dallas, and I was listening to local radio, they were talking about how this draft might not be as expensive to trade up because there are so many teams supposably trying to trade down. That's fine, but what made me kind of laugh, their analyst was saying it was possible they could get the 6 pick from us for 24, their second and a fourth... Man they like to dream down here.
