Observer Projections / *Updated Panthers Waiver Additions
XClown1986 replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
For all of the people upset about Renfrow being cut, did you ever think that maybe he wanted to be cut because he would essentially be 4th or 5th on the depth chart and he wants to go where he will be able to get on the field? Just saying, we don't have all of the information. -

One guy we should seriously consider is Willie Lampkin. Could be future starter at center. -

I'm waiting for the Ravens to release their cuts. Jay Higgins would be a great get for us if he is cut -
They probably would like to bring him back on the practice squad and let him continue working his way back.

I remember guys banging the table for Malachi Corley in last year's draft. Well, he is being waived by the Jets.

No, only around 250k was guaranteed. The 3 year contract was worth up to 2 mil. -
This one is mildly surprising given how well he has played the past few years. If we aren't completely settled with Smith-Wade as our nickel, then I'd want to bring him in for a visit.

Josina Anderson: Panthers NOT trading Adam Thielen
XClown1986 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Rational is not trading away the few assets we actually have so that we can attempt to compete. The fact is, everyone behind Theilen is an unknown. I understand trading players for picks if it is in the best interest of the team, and everyone can be had for a price. I'm simply saying his value is higher than you are suggesting. -

You and I didn't watch the same receiver play last year then. Theilen is still a receiver capable of 1000 yards in a season. The only reason he didn't have 1000+ last year is because he got injured. That's worth a 3rd round pick. And if we need a guy on our team to make a 3rd down conversion, who is the guy that you can depend on? Theilen is that guy. -

Hopkins only had 170 yards in 6 games for the Titans before he was traded. He could go to a competitor, and the Titans got to dump 5.5 mil in salary and acquire another draft pick towards their inevitable rebuild. It's not the same situation. -
I'm in this boat also. We know Thielen is going to be productive and make clutch catches. Everyone else is hypothetical based on potential.
-
It will be interesting to see how this is structured with the cap
-
I think Theilen wants to play for the Panthers or retire. Even IF we wanted to trade him, I doubt it could happen.

The gas-lighting in this thread is laughable. So lets get a couple of things straight: 1. I'm not romanticizing the huddle of old. There were always annoyances and arguments and people losing their heads. The difference? They were outliers. The reason you can remember guys like Chuck is because they stood out as the problem. And they were reacted to and dealt with accordingly without it being necessary to run tattling to mods. There was an expectation of how you carried yourself and how you responded to others. That has become increasingly flexible. That's a fact. 2. The fact that the team sucks, the owner sucks, the coach sucks, or whatever the flavor of the moment is, doesn't give immunity to your behavior and interaction with others. We have far too many people with the inability to manage themselves and they simply shrug off any culpability because the team "isn't winning" and simply say they have a right to criticize the team. Yes you do, but you don't have the right to demean or demoralize others or continually derail threads with constant verbal bashing and criticisms. Your behavior and interactions are on you. Period. Be critical of the team, the owner, whomever. But its the interactions with other posters and with topics that is the problem.

Look man, my gripe isn't with you and I know you mean well, but you have to stop with the customer service line reads and actually get in tune with the board. Truly. If you enjoy it here and can suggest others do as well, I'd love to hear how you sell it. But I'd rather hear the truth.
-
Now you're understanding. I'm asking for someone with actual status here to make a move.
-
Unreasonable? If they take on the role, they ASKED for this. Is that not part of the gig? If you can't or won't do it, regardless of pay, then quit. It's that simple.
-
You aren't helping. You're deflecting. And it's not wanted.
-
Why does it take reporting for the mods to notice anything? Are they not present? Are they not reading? Because if that's the case, they shouldn't be mods. Period.
-
You can't be serious and if you are, you are not helping.
