XClown1986 replied to BeenPounding's topic in Carolina Panthers
The draft strategy should never change. BPA -
Panthers Prospect Visits/Meetings (Final Update-4/22)

Oh I didn't mean we should gamble on him. Just that someone will. Players like him scare me. Especially 1st round and even worse in the top 10 -
Panthers Prospect Visits/Meetings (Final Update-4/22)
XClown1986 replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
For people that are saying Shemar Stewart is not an elite talent, I think you are confusing talent with production. Shemar is 100% an elite talent. The draft is when you look at a guy like this and predict what he can be in the NFL. He is already a fantastic player against the run, has a RIDICULOUS motor, and elite traits. There is a reason why Travon Walker went ahead of Aiden Hutchinson in the draft. Projection. Both could be very good players, but which player, if he puts it all together, will be a game changer? Not only do I think he will go top 10, he might even go ahead of our pick. P.S. He doesn't even turn 22 until November. -
I hope we can sign: RB JK Dobbins S Juan Thornhill or Julian Blackmon WR Mecole Hardman CB Mike Hilton and another EDGE player If we can pull those deals off, I'll feel great going into the draft

Must be nice to be a consistently good team that can make decisions like that.
-
I can see how it was a tough decision for him, but with JJ coming off of an injury and after what Kevin O'Connell did for Darnold last year, I think I would have had to go back to the Vikings. Colts have a run game and a couple of weapons though, so who knows.

Panthers sign Jaycee Horn to $100 million dollar deal
XClown1986 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Morgan is betting that Horn's best years are ahead of him and that the health concerns are behind him. Risky bet. -
If Kyle Juszczyk and Mark Andrews merged. That's what I see. One thing that bothers me though is he is a massive guy with a huge wingspan, but yet he catches everything as if his hands are sewn to his chest. He's not going to be able to pull away from guys in the NFL or outbody everyone for a chest catch. He needs to use that wingspan.

Signing Milton Williams and Josh Sweat in free agency just got more difficult.

Bryce Young full video on Dan Patrick show feb 6
XClown1986 replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I can maybe understand bringing up the size concern from a conversational standpoint, but he beat it to death. I was hoping he would dive more into what Bryce did differently during his benching to lead to success later in the season, but he didn't. He touched on it and then immediately went back to his size. Bryce's turnaround in-season after benching as a 1st overall pick in his second season is compelling, and all he wanted to do was keep throwing the short comments at him. "Like hey, you're short, did you know that?" WTF -
Really? That's the thing? Peyton Manning threw ducks his whole career. As long as it's complete, I could care less if it spins end over end.

The Stefon Diggs trade from Minnesota to Buffalo is probably the gauge for a Garrett Wilson trade. But, he is a true number 1 receiver and is being mishandled in NY.

I think we will have to offer a first next year or 2 2nds. But, either way, I'd do it.

Serious question: Jameis Winston or Bryce Young straight-up?

Real Talk - A New Approach in Being A Fan Currently
XClown1986 replied to Matthias's topic in Carolina Panthers
For me, I'll start watching the games or I'll have the game on in the background, but it is no longer my priority/focus. It will be that way for the forseeable future. -
Honestly, I love this approach, and I think it is the only right one to take when your team finished as the worst in the league last year. If you are on a poor roster, you should never feel secure. It promotes energy, effort, and focus of all the guys that come in. And I love that they are bringing in so many different guys to see if they can help us more than just this game or just this year. I never understood why we weren't doing this every year, especially with the practice squad. Get closer looks at guys and you might find someone valuable.

Panthers bring Jordan Matthews back to 53-man roster
XClown1986 replied to Carolina Panthers's topic in Carolina Panthers
We could only place 2 players on IR before the roster was set. We probably told him it was just a formality and were going to elevate him back to the roster once we could place another player on IR. He is a vested veteran, so he wasn't subject to waivers. -

Nine players signed to practice squad
XClown1986 replied to Carolina Panthers's topic in Carolina Panthers
He probably felt slighted and didn't want to be on our PS. Looking for a fresh start maybe. -
Anybody else notice that TMJ wasn't claimed on waivers?

Kingston is athletic as hell and graded out highly throughout college and only allowed 2 pressures in 85 snaps this preseason. Drafted in the 6th round. Can play G or T.

Have to think that the other two corresponding moves will be from the DL and OL
