A timely post by our buddy John Ellis... In summary, Cleveland's run game last season worked best going either wide left, off tackle right, off tackle left or wide right. Teams running against us tended to prefer going up the middle but had their best success off tackle / wide left or off tackle right. Sad to say this doesn't exactly constitute a ringing endorsement of Brian burns as a run defender last season Bottom line though? They run well in areas of the field where we've recently been weak.

Sean Payton got a lot of yards off of those.

Injuries are pretty much impossible to predict. But with that said, when you take a guy with a rep for getting injured, and he gets injured, well... -
I wasn't really sure what that line meant

His original value was tied to somebody that doesn't work here anymore. The idea was that Joe Brady not only knew him from having worked with him at LSU, but also would know how to ideally use him in his offense. Clearly that last part wasn't true to begin with, but Brady being gone pretty much destroys whatever was left of the originally perceived notion. So now what? -
Only kinda sorta Panthers related I'll grant, but very well worth watching

Side Note: When the Steelers announced their first depth chart, Mason Rudolph was listed as the backup behind Mitch Trubisky. Kenny Pickett was listed as the number three. They later changed it to show Pickett as the backup and announced that the first one had Rudolph second due to a "clerical error". (Ouch ) -
While we're at it, a little bit of actual news, Kenny Pickett has won the backup job in Pittsburgh.

I actually think the Steelers probably have the right idea. This is where you run into trouble with retiring numbers. You can't just retire the number of every great player you loved. And unfortunately, that's what fans tend to want to do. Sam Mills was way more than just a great player. That's why his number is retired. Of the four numbers discussed here, really only Thomas Davis has anything close to that kind of legacy beyond the playing field but even there I'd say it's probably not enough. The standard has to be higher.

Irony at it's finest I'm kidding. You don't actually even qualify as "petty". "Worthless" would be more accurate.

I have my own opinion, and have expressed it, despite what you say. As far as John, sure he could be wrong, but let's just say I have more confidence in his opinion than I do yours. Doubt I'm alone on that either. I'll await your response. Proportions being what they have been, this next one should go a good eight paragraphs (at least).

How much has you had to that point?
