Imagine if Luke had tweeted every time he sat down to watch film Some guys like the social media stuff. Some don't. I don't care either way as long as they produce on the field.

I can't think of a single time that's been true, and sorry but saying it doesn't make it true either. Mind you, it wouldn't be difficult to point out several examples of the reverse But anyway... Brandon Lafell says the Patriots work a little harder than the Panthers

What will a week 1 loss to the Jets do to Darnold?
Mr. Scot replied to CanadianCat's topic in Carolina Panthers
There are people on here who will implode if we lose in preseason. -
To be fair, I've had some past relationships where it wasn't so much a matter of not remembering what caused a fight as it was having absolutely no idea. Mind you, nobody ever knocked one of my teeth out.

REPORT: No movement in Panthers’ talks w/ Taylor Moton
Mr. Scot replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Deadline is 4pm today. Mind you, even if they do get a deal done by then it might not be announced immediately. Sometimes the announcement comes a little later in the day. -
Wrong...again. It was Brandon Lafell.

Back from vacation, talk to me about your training camp interests.

Like, say... talking about it? It's not like Marsh sued the team for emotional distress. And it's hardly unusual for players to talk about their experiences with teams, including negative ones. Heck, one of our own who left for New England talked about the Patriots working harder than us (don't remember who, maybe Newton but I'm not dead certain).

I'm honestly not planning to look at this game differently than I would any other. My guess is that same advice will be given to Darnold (and likely has been already). -

Elflein is absolutely a guy I would have been interested in a few years ago. I've said before though that I'm not a big fan of signing guys because they used to be good. So here's hoping... -
Well, it's not like we haven't seen Matt Rhule talk somebody up only to watch them hit the bricks shortly thereafter.

But hardly "set for life" money, especially if you've got a family. You have a lot more faith in college age kids than I do Hell, plenty of adults don't even have good financial sense.
-
If you'd have handed me a big wad of cash right out of college, I'd probably be broke in short order too. Hell, most of us probably would have been.
-
That depends on whether you're talking about veterans, rookies or practice squad players. You can get a pretty good idea by heading over to Spotrac or Over the Cap and looking at the roster breakdown.

I think that had a lot more to do with Ron Rivera than it did Taylor Moton. -

Little definitely has a pulse. His issues have been with his brain. Add that to Tahir Whitehead not having the heart and Teddy Bridgewater not having the nerve and I guess we really could have used a trip to see The Wizard last year. -
Agree. There's a reason why a lot of these guys, even some of the big moneymakers, wind up broke within a few years of their career ending.

Among the topics discussed... The team has put in a ton of work to make sure Sam Darnold feels comfortable. They want Darnold to consider himself "1 of 22" and not try to put everything on his shoulders. Last year's lack of TE production was more personnel than scheme. They just didn't have the players to do some of the things they wanted. Dan Arnold might change that. Ian Thomas, not so much. Gantt thinks the talk about him having a good offseason is just an attempt to pump him up. As to Taylor Moton, he does still have an outside chance of getting a deal done, but Gantt doesn't believe he'll move left. He acknowledges that it could happen, but doesn't see it as all that likely. With regard to how much Moton's deal might be if it does get done, Gantt says it won't be as good as Saints tackle Ryan Ramczyk got because Moton isn't as good as Ryan Ramczyk. (not sure I agree there, but I'll grant I'm not necessarily objective). And lastly, Gantt says there could still be some roster shuffling before and during the early days of camp, especially at safety. He mentioned Ha Ha Clinton-Dix as still being a possibility but not the only one.

Been doing that for years. (a lot of us have) -
Most of the questions I've seen people asking about Horn have to do with how "handsy" he was as a college DB. Some critics think he'll draw a lot of flags as a pro. And yeah, it's possible. But even some of the best in the game draw their fair share of penalties, more so over the last few years since the league's been trying to get as much offense as possible. My guess: he may well get penalized a fair amount, just hopefully not enough to where it causes problems. His rookie season especially could be a little rough in that regard. But if so, that won't mean he's a bust.

DJ Moore: a few vertical concept/contested catch highlights
Mr. Scot replied to ellis's topic in Carolina Panthers
His best characteristic for me is still what he does with the ball after he gets it. He's one of the best RAC guys we've had in a while. -
To be fair, the vast majority of those guys don't actually get paid "millions". That's just the superstars. As to the rest, yeah they make way more than we do, but most of them don't have long careers and relatively very few of them are "set for life" when their careers end.

To tell the truth, the more interesting question to me is just how deeply Matt Rhule believes in his "low hit rate" statement about first round quarterbacks. Our old buddy John Fox didn't believe in using high picks on quarterbacks. He preferred to just sign somebody that another team had developed (and who fit his preferred profile, of course). How will Panther fans feel if Matt Rhule has a similar philosophy?
