  1. Well, it's just a practice squad spot. And let's face it, we've got some starters that haven't really played yet this year. And then there's Justin Houston, our big name pick-up at linebacker who has produced 4 tackles and half of a sack. Whoopie. So yeah, can't really complain about those guys going on the practice squad. Good luck to them.
  2. Good for him! Hope he does great. Not the big name I think we need, but then again I wasn't impressed when we snagged Frankie Luvu. And boy was I wrong about that.
  3. Gotta love Moose! We've been trying to find a guy like him since he retired. As you can tell, it's a nearly impossible task.
  4. We try our best. My thing is I always want the people to be the story more than the crime. I really don't like exploitation and so many of our competitors (particularly the new ones) really go for the salacious side of things. We do like to throw in a zinger or two when we can at some of the less innocent characters, but we try to keep it subtle... no reason to piss off a killer.
  5. Oh wow!!! So great to hear this! If you ever have a suggestion or comment, just let me know! And thanks so very much for watching!
  6. Due we are three and a half point underdogs for the bye week.
  7. New episode up, this one on our sister channel Beyond Evil Podcast. This one is a bit shorter, let me know what you think.
  8. You forgot Sam Darnold riding the pine for 49ers and Steve Wilks running their outstanding defense at 5-1. Still, of all of those, I'm most happy that Chosen Chosen Sideshow Bob Chosen was someone we chose to show the door.
  9. Not sure how he keeps getting open because it's pretty obvious he's our only receiving threat. The old guy is burning the rest of his magic for us. We should be doing more for him. Was nice to see Tommy Tremble out there making some catches. With two catches yesterday he pretty much has been outplaying both Double H and Ian Thomas. That's how low our TE bar has become. Glad that we grabbed Thielen but man, he needs some help out there. I just keep having flashbacks to that playoff game years ago when Seattle triple covered Smitty on every play and we were completely shut down. If we were a better team, they'd be doing that to Thielen from here on out.
  10. We traded everything away for beans. Not even magical ones. There's no beanstalk. This ain't no fairy tale. We are the worst team in the league and so much worse than we were last year at this time. And we sucked then. And we traded away our first round draft pick in the process. Woof. If we just took a 12-week bye, do you think anyone would notice?
  11. What got into those Cats????? Wow!
  12. I don't think we're tanking. I don't think they really know what they are doing. It's a stool with three uneven legs that the team is sitting on and there is no way that it will level out and make sense until some major rethinking of the power structure is done.
  13. Good luck to Chuba. For a RB2 nearing the end of his first contract, this is the kind of opportunity that can make or break his career. I hope he can really show out and rack up some yardage for us. I'm not expecting much out of this game, but that would be a welcome bright spot for us. And I really do feel he has shown himself as the better RB in our rotation.
  14. Actually, you're right. After the better part of a decade of frustration at the QB position, we're just all worn out and grumpy. The kid needs time to develop. So do many of us.
  15. I'm not sure the coaching is any better. Nothing out there looks any better. And I really hated the Rhule years here. There's a dysfunction in this team and it has existed through three coaching changes, untold QB changes, changes to defensive philosophy (this is our second attempt to move to a 3-4 defense), a change of field surface, and I really think that it all started back with the change in ownership. If you can start missing the days of Rivera, Hurney and Richardson, it really doesn't speak well of the current days.
  16. We're hearing a lot of talk here about the Bryce pick and rightfully so. But I've got to also look at this team and say it's not just one guy who isn't working out out there on the field. This is a lifeless, directionless team that really can't get it together. There's no grit, no endurance. But maybe that's what years of Tepper running the show have done to us. Just ground us down.
  17. Yeah, they sure didn't come in his first five games.
  18. You happen to watch any of Peyton Manning's first season? I was stuck in NW NC and could only get tv broadcast from Bristol, TN. And they made sure to showcase every one of the Tennessee product's games that season. Wow, he stunk. You knew he was going to be just terrible. And while he was bigger than Bryce (by far), he was about as mobile as a '78 GMC pickup truck with three flat tires. Had you been able to bet on it, there's no way anyone would have passed on dropping a few bucks into the "bust" bets column for Peyton. And that's repeated again and again. And sometimes those that come out of the blocks with guns blazing and winning like crazy, well, that second year is it for them... the wad is shot. We just don't know how this is going to go yet. There's really no way to know.
  19. No one here knows whether he'll be great, good, average, meh or bad at this point. Almost every great QB started with a bad first season. There are hall of famers that lost their first 11 games. We suck right now. We were going to suck. Tomorrow we might be better. Tomorrow he might develop into the best of the bunch from this year. Who knows? I don't. You don't.
  20. Man, I hope things smooth our for yourself and the Lady. Make the most of the time and enjoy it. I'm about the same age and my health isn't anywhere near where it should be, so I understand. And yeah, I'm just hanging on here by my fingernails with coming back to The Huddle. The last few years have changed things a lot for the team and it has caused some souring here. Or maybe it's just me. I don't have the optimism I used to when it comes to the team. It's my team but every week has been like watching someone kick your favorite dog. Then we all come on here and relive it and fight about it. It's not healthy. I'm going to truly miss your posts, man. I've learned a lot about football reading what you've written. You've been the Dr. Z of the Huddle for years. Well done man and well missed you'll be.
