Crazily it would have cost the same as Darnold, since their contracts are required to be the same. The trade might have cost us more than it did now, but probably along the same lines as Darnold's did now. Smart shopping can really make the difference I guess. If we just new what would be on special ahead of time.

Had they just made this deal last season...

The world, it is a changing and the oil producers know it. We're going to see a lot of legislation and efforts to protect oil production in the near future and they'll be the equivalent of trying to legislate better buggy whip prices in 1903.

Went from a 3 to a 5. I still don't believe in our coaching staff. Rhule has failed with two former first round QBs so far. A third isn't out of his wheel house.

fug Robbie(y) Anderson.

Well, okay, it's done. He'll be wearing Panthers blue and I'll be cheering for him. I hope he has the success with us that Drew Brees had with his second team. This is the best roll of the dice we've had at QB since Cam went down -- the most upside, the most wins brought to the table, the biggest axe to grind and make a name for himself, with one of the smallest costs. Mayfield played in a much tougher (physically and competition-wise) division than the NFCSouth and he was competitive there until injuries derailed him. He's gone through coaching changes and still outperformed what we've had on the field. He's coming off surgery on his shoulder, but that could have fixed the problems he'd been having. He did play through a lot of pain last year. Now, that being said... If Mayfield doesn't work here, Rhule will have to pack up and move. It's just that simple. In three seasons, Rhule has had three different first round draft pick QBs -- Bridgewater (32nd), Darnold (3rd) and Mayfield (1). All three were veterans on the field, two of whom had posted winning seasons in their careers and had been praised for their abilities. If you can't coach with basically three shots at a 1st rounder QB and plenty of pro tape on them, then you can't do the job. Good luck to Baker, I really want to see him shine here. I think if anyone needed a new home, he sure did.

CMC will break out of the injury slump and make another run at the combined yardage record. Cade Mays will have a starting spot on the line by mid-October and will flourish there. He'll be the White Buffalo reincarnated.

No matter our physical or mental strengths, we are all fragile, flawed and all too temporary. God bless us all, for we all need it.

We can go from walking on the Earth to flying to the moon in 200 years. We can harness atoms and peer deep into the universe to discover where it all came from. And yet we are still stupid enough to kill ourselves again and again in pursuit of temporary pleasures.

Biggest leap: Cade Mays. I think he starts on the line by mid-season. Biggest Fall: Johnny Hekker. I hope I'm wrong about this, but the guy was playing lights out for LA for quite some time, had a big leg, accuracy... wasn't terribly expensive. Hoping he's a stud here but afraid we might have bought a well-disguised lemon. Wouldn't be our first time.

Most Underrated Player on Every NFL Team
Khyber53 replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
I agree on Shaq, but there's one worry about Moton. He looks great compared to who we have lined up with him. Is he as good as we think, or is he just lots better than who we've had out there? I think he's good, but honestly, the other parts of the line were so weak, they just kind of had to send someone to keep Taylor busy while busting through the other gaps. -
I went there a couple of times when I was a kid.

Fantastic man! You're making more than movies, you're making a path for yourself. Good work and can't wait to see it!

We coasted on the stats from our first three games. Our defense was creampuff soft for the rest of the season. I know the offense often put them in bad situations, but they couldn't get themselves off of the field, either. I haven't seen much to make me think anything is better coming into this season. And the defensive coaching is still outdated. Sorry, wish there was something better to say.

Resilient fellow, isn't he?

Why can't they do this with NFL stadiums?

Well done, well done.

Tight End coaching, sponsored by Charmin. Really? Dignity is cheap in the marketplace, so very cheap.

If Mayfield ends up in Seattle, it will be the best thing for his career. It won't be like Brees getting a restart in New Orleans after being jilted by San Diego, but it sure could be a Tannehill like story. I think Baker has the skills to really succeed if he can get good, solid coaching and is on a team that has some cohesion to it. I think he had more to do with making the Browns relevant again than he gets credit for. The talk of him being not so great with the locker room there may have less to do with Mayfield than it does with an organization that has been the measure of futility since the 1990s. If he came here, instead, I'm not sure he'd have the same success under Rhule that he'll have under Pete Carroll.

I hope he finds what he needs here, is wonderfully happy and then turns out a fantastic season for us. It's a tough job and one that wears on the soul as much as the body.

Adam Rank doesn't know what the bar for Rhule is.
Khyber53 replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think we'll know by mid-October. There's a good chance we'll know by mid-September. Honestly, I just want Rhule gone and we move on, sooner than later. There are some really talented young men on this team whose best playing years are being wasted while Rhule does his on-the-job training bullshit. Let's move on and he can either go back to the middling college game or get him an assistant coaching gig with another NFL team. And as for Tepper, I wish we'd have taken a longer time in finding a qualified buyer. He's just not a good fit for the NFL, the region or the fans. -
Unflushable Phil, the turd NC can't seem to get rid of.
