  1. Conversely, the pass defense improvement has been remarkable. We do still struggle defending the run, however. Modest improvements so far in that area.
  2. Well we tried to kill Marshall on Sunday, so we aren't going to be seeing him versus the Giants.
  3. Agreed and it could allow him to lengthen his career significantly. Charles Woodson was very successful making that transition.
  4. I mean....how you could not re-grow that epic mustache for the pictures?
  5. I agree. We relied heavily on RB passes last year with or without CMC. It's kind of mind blowing that we drafted a RB that doesn't have good receiving ability or that we don't have another one on the roster that does. Robby will eventually get the yips figured out but I don't think we are going to see a dramatic improvement during the season for our rookie RB.
  6. Yeah, I don't deny that but UNC is not an NFL team nor are any of his opponents NFL teams. IMO, he has average NFL arm strength. That really doesn't matter as much as his mechanical issues to me. He has a LOT of things to fix in that realm. Other than that, some nice intangibles, a very nice deep ball and a decent athlete. If this were a different version of the Panthers, I wouldn't mind taking a look at him in the 2nd or 3rd round but this is the OL optional, need a starting QB now version of the Panthers. We don't have a team that will allow him to get better or be successful at all because he isn't going to be a day one ready to play guy. I understand you are a UNC fan but why would you want to see your college crush be put in a situation that he is going to fail in? We aren't the team where he is going to get better.
  7. I haven't watched every game, just 3 of them. Not saying he isn't getting a lot of pressure but that is kind of what I mean with the struggling with pressure. He is clearly not playing as well this year.
  8. I'm okay trading down if we can snag some extra 2nd and 3rd rounders to use on OL. But, if there is clearly an elite OT or IOL available, don't fug that up and take the kid. Even just adding one more solid player on the OL would be a massive improvement. If we can add just TWO more above average OL in the offseason, I think we can see huge improvements
  9. Yeah, that is why you see comparisons to Baker or McCoy. He isn't noodle armed at all but he has average NFL arm strength. The biggest concern is his myriad of mechanical issues and that offense UNC runs. He seems Ike a guy that could use a year or two on the bench getting that all fixed. Also, he has traditionally struggled pretty badly against pressure so this is about the worst scenario possible for him. He seems more like a prospect for a team with an aging, competent veteran in place.
  10. I think we have to find a better QB than Darnold to make the playoffs. It would take a very stellar supporting cast to lift him to that level.
  11. I 100% don't get the hype on Corral. Everything about him screams college level player that won't translate well in the NFL. Very average skill sets. I hope we take take best OL available in the first or maybe trade down into the second and grab another 2nd/3rd so we can take snag 2-3 OL. I wouldn't be upset at all with our first ever OL only draft.
  12. I suspect this is gonna be one of those years where QB prospects drop down the draft. Might only see one in the top 10 and 2 in the first round.
  13. 100% what I think. If we don't attempt to make serious fixes to the OL in the offseason, I will have my axe sharpened for the "Fire Rhule" mob.
  14. I don't think we are gonna have much of an option. If we use a 1st round pick on this crop of QB's it will be 100% pure desperation mode and I think be the clear indicator that we will be looking for a new coach sooner rather than later. I think you just try and find a reasonable "better" option in 2022 and hope that the team really takes off in 2022(with a revamped OL perhaps) to make us a much more attractive FA option or go hard in the 2023 draft if there are some strong prospects available.
  15. Yeah, I think he is a talented kid that will play in the NFL but I suspect he is more of a journeyman backup level player. I keep seeing the hype on Malik Willis too, who is another guy I think is a very unimpressive prospect. This is just a bad, bad QB class.
  16. I think we will be in year three of the "QB Carousel." Can't wait to see our next reclamation project!
  17. Go watch the tape on his losses. It is really, really, really bad. Not saying he doesn't have some talent but he looks more like a 4th/5th rounder than a 1st rounder. I'd rather draft capable OL than gamble on much in this 2022 class. It's pretty putrid.
  18. Poor Man's Baker Mayfield will likely get overdrafted(1st round) but I certainly hope we aren't the team doing it.
  19. Well basically any starting QB in the NFL is likely to be an improvement over our current one. But to be a contender we are going to need a top flight QB. Wilson isn't going anywhere in the next couple of seasons. Minshew is an improvement over Daenold but I also don't think he would be a guy capable of winning a Super Bowl here. Agreed on the game managing QB's(Goff/Jimmy G/etc). They can work for well built teams with elite defenses. It is also just generally harder to win big games with those kind of QB's. I don't think there is a clear answer to the problem, unfortunately. We have exhausted a ton of draft capital in 2022 so trading up for a QB isn't likely. Additionally, this may be the worst QB class in a few years, so it isn't the best time for that. I think what the best idea would be is to just get a "better" QB in free agency in 2022 while you start building the OL. At least then you can move on from Darnold and hopefully improve overall on that side of the ball. Eventually we will have to make a splash move in the draft or in free agency but grabbing a mid-tier QB in free agency in 2022 allows a measure of improvement on offense while rebuilding. It also allows more time to find "the guy" in the draft.
  20. I think plenty of teams are interested but not at the price Houston is talking. They want full retail price for an open box item that is missing parts and has a national recall issued on it.
  21. It's what happens when you are losing. All the gripes you have are magnified. This season has been extremely difficult to watch because I was right about too many things that I said wouldn't work out. Contrary to what some Huddlers believe, it isn't satisfying to be right about something that hurts the team. It's extremely frustrating.
  22. If you want "better" there are probably some options available in free agency(Cam being one) and via trade. But, I don't think good is on the table unless they swing a trade for Watson. The offense just isn't set up for success in it's current form. I don't think the staff will be able to do anything but stick with Darnold. PJ is a lateral move, at best. So, we are just likely to watch Darnold prove for 11 more games what most of the league saw, that he was a bust. It just is what it is.
  23. I would love to see the analytics that got us Erving, Elflein, Christensen and Brown. I'd love to see the analytics that have us playing Moton at LT and Christensen at RT, despite both of them only ever playing the opposite side.
